LSU Professor: Pakistan and India might nuke us in 50 years if we ignore global warming

posted at 10:55 am on November 17, 2010 by The Right Scoop

via Campus Reform. Dr. Schaefer from Louisiana State University says that if our attitude is to just “sit on our tuffets and screw the kids” and do nothing to solve the critical problem of global warming, then in 50 years Pakistan and India might decide to send a couple of nukes our way for being one of the leading contributors to global warming. Wow.

Schaefer was so hyperbolic in this clip that I wasn’t sure which of his fear mongering statements to use for the title. From telling his skeptical students that ‘blood will be on their hands’, to creating a worksheet that asks those same students to estimate the probability that their children would die in ‘ugly ways’ if they ignore global warming, you have to wonder if Schaefer was one of the masterminds behind this. Yeah I’m pretty sure he wasn’t, though maybe he was profoundly inspired by it.

Sadly enough, there was a time when we kept people who were “Touched in the head” like that locked up in padded rooms for their and societies safety, now they teach school, no wonder we’re having so much trouble.

Chip on November 17, 2010 at 12:31 PM

LSU btw is a strong conservative campus. I believe college republicans outnumber college democrats 3 or 4 to 1.

MFn G I M P on November 17, 2010 at 11:30 AM

Not only that (which I believe is more like 100 to 1) it has the largest Young Republican Chapter in the entire U.S. which is several thousand strong.

One thing about Baton Rouge is that any home with a U.S. Flag and LSU bumper stickers is a guaranteed vote for the GOP. This is even a greater guarantee than a staffer for Pelosi from Berkeley voting Dem. This really is not a joke or exaggeration.

Kermit on November 17, 2010 at 12:34 PM

LSU also received $289 million in federal stimulus money.
locomotivebreath1901 on November 17, 2010 at 11:57 AM

Louisiana ACORN central.

This Professor never heard of NORAD or what his tax payer dollars have gone to prevent? Incoming Missiles from anywhere. If he took time to look into the Nuke ratio, say India and Pakistan vs U.S.A. we have a lot more nukes. It’s Pakistan in the near future that has to worry about us using something bigger than predator drones and hellfire missles. India is our ally, their students are ranked high in Science and Math, so NO I don’t see them buying into this AGW scam – fear mongering out of Louisiana notwithstanding. The Governor of Louisiana is of Indian descent, this LSU guy, really isn’t keeping up with current events.

So… State University professor, eh?

1. Most probably in 50 years Pakistan and India will use nukes on each other, hopefully India will have the upper hand.

2. In 50 years, due the demographics, US population will have a Hispanic (Chinese, Indian, insert here your favorite) majority. This racist “professor” insinuate that out Latino friends (being a Latin myself, even if from another, more ancient ancestry ) will not solve the pollution problem by then, by running all the industry into the ground and make all the US a happy, huge coca plantation?

3. Furthermore, seeing that India will won the nuke war as per point 1, the number of holy methane-producing cows will be so great, that any oxygen-consuming rockets will just either explode at launch, or be unable to lift.

4…. why bother? Don’t argue with communists idiots

Crazy Cajun’s been drinking too much tiger juice. BOR is sure the president is a smart man because he was editor of the Harvard Law Review. I almost fell off the couch when he said that last night. Of course, BOR went to Harvard as well so he should know all about smart.

Kissmygrits on November 17, 2010 at 11:35 AM
BOR is an idiot. He longs to relive that moment when the Bamster reached across and touched him on the knee. He considers it a highlight of his career.

slickwillie2001 on November 17, 2010 at 11:50 AM

I don’t know. After knowing what we know about the Obama’s, and others who’ve gone to Harvard, and what they think, what Harvard teaches etc….I’d think the last thing one would want to do, is brag about having gone there, or is going there. yeesh!

At this point, knowing what kind of mindless, inane, insipid crap that comes out of there, I wouldn’t be to proud to announce to the world I went there.

capejasmine on November 17, 2010 at 1:50 PM

That video was funny and disturbing at the same time. Put a sign board on him with the words, “The End Is Nigh” and it would be a perfect fit. Seriously, why are mentally deficients like this not pan-handling instead of teaching at universities?

NotCoach on November 17, 2010 at 1:58 PM

Does that a$$ have tenure?

ya2daup on November 17, 2010 at 1:58 PM

Poppycock. Reminds me of some left-wing warmist novel in which the heroes were saboteurs, and their targets the big ugly factories of a neighboring nation.

Pakistan and India are far more likely to nuke each other in 50 years than anyone else!

What’s the carbon footprint of a “tuffet” anyway?

bitsy on November 17, 2010 at 2:08 PM

This is the desperation that kicks in when the silly arguments they have been making for years explode in their faces… what exactly is India doing about “global warming” nothing. They know it is a farce.

There is no explanation for this guy. Drugs?

Wait a minute! We’re not even going to be here in 50 years. Al Gore said so! Is this bozo really contradicting the Goracle? What does he think he is, a professor of science or something?

smellthecoffee on November 17, 2010 at 2:42 PM

Frack this guy. I have not, nor will I ever sit on a “tuffet,” nor have I “screwed kids.” You can get serious hard time for doing that. I think that this pedophile is projecting.

So they send a couple nukes our way, we send maybe 20 or 30 theirs. Maybe China and Russia get involved, maybe not. Heck of a way to promote environmentalism, don’t you think?

I like to ask my liberal friends if maybe we should stage a nuclear war to cause a nuclear winter to stop global warming.

slickwillie2001 on November 17, 2010 at 3:43 PM

It’s time for some to wise up past “The South” jokes. It isn’t the North that has given Conservatism Colonel West and Tim Scott and it isn’t the South which has afflicted the nation with Al Franken, Murka, Charlie Rangel, Ben Nelson, Chris Dodd, Bawney Fwank, John Kerry, The Maine Twins, Jumpin’ Jim Jeffords and a whole host of others indifferent or outright hostile to Liberty and to The People. Even Al Gore is more DC Beltway than Nashville.

Two things I’ve noticed as I’ve traveled much of this country over the past few decades. The South is where much of the Reagan Revolution sprouted and flourished, where Conservatism has most steadily been maintained since Reagan, and The South is where those Northerners whom have screwed up their home states are now, and have been for quite some time, have been moving in droves.

viking01 on November 17, 2010 at 4:06 PM

I want a detailed list of all the countries that support global warming, are quite proactive about it and their message (like building clown cars, for example), and in what ways THEY are contributing to OUR economy by IMPORTS of goods and services.

ProudPalinFan on November 17, 2010 at 4:17 PM

Wow.

To quote the inimitable Santa Battaglia in A Confederacy of Dunces (another LSU product), they should turn a hose on this guy, or put his finger in an electric light socket.

Ward Cleaver on November 17, 2010 at 4:37 PM

I was in college during the first Gulf War and in the days leading up to American action I had a history professor that basically lost his mind. He was so adamant about the disaster that was about to happen that spittle flew from his mouth when he went on one of his crazed rants. I can still picture the speech from the day before the air strikes began. He said that we had to get over this romantic notion of war. Tens of thousands of Americans were about to die. “Pilots would be so traumatized by their missions, they would literally sh*t in their flight suits.” I got kicked out of class because I burst out with “…cats and dogs living together…mass hysteria.”

I did get the last laugh. The war started that night and at our class the next morning, he brought out the TV and we watched war coverage on CNN. They had an F-4G pilot getting out of his Wild Weasel. The guy still had marks on his face from the oxygen mask as the reporter asked him out the mission went. He answered with one word, “Cakewalk.”

The libs like to bring up worst case scenarios anytime it might benefit one of their pet causes. Global warming: the Eastern US will be under water in 50 years. War: tens of thousand of soldiers killed along with millions of civilians. Deficit: Nothing to see here. More entitlements will solve the problem.

ReaganWasRight on November 17, 2010 at 4:39 PM

Yeah those mushroom clouds ought to reduce global warming.

Is there any doubt that we are living just as milleniums ago where the ignorant worshiped nature.

And these geniuses speak about evolution as if they’re part of it?

Don L on November 17, 2010 at 5:15 PM

Ok, let’s assume I believe global warming is really a problem because it is destroying plants and animals that can’t defend themselves. I believe mankind is the cause of the problem.

What would be wrong with a mass casualty event? Shouldn’t that be EPA policy?

hawksruleva on November 17, 2010 at 5:32 PM

This idiot is a real professor? Really? He can’t even string two sentences together coherently and he appears to be a native English speaker, so he doesn’t have that excuse.

Wow, quality of college professors has really gone down in the almost 30 years since I was in school. At least back then, even the communists were at least coherent.

AZfederalist on November 17, 2010 at 10:40 PM

Let’s hope LSU is their first target.

Skipper50 on November 18, 2010 at 8:11 AM

I worked for years at a university. Trust me, nutball professors are not all that uncommon. It’s because they can’t hold down a real job.
