Video: “This is our morning in America!”

posted at 8:45 am on November 4, 2010 by Ed Morrissey

What was the meaning of Tuesday’s midterms? It’s morning in America again, says Sarah Palin in her new video, “Together.” The video features the candidates Palin endorsed and who won office this week; you’ll see our friend Renee Ellmers, for instance, as well as Nikki Haley, Marco Rubio, Tim Scott, Sean Duffy, Kelly Ayotte, and more. What’s it going to take for them to succeed? They’ll need to shake things up, of course, and a grizzly roar or two won’t hurt either:

Man does this country miss Reagan or what?

I like it, but it needs more bear.

2012, the Senate and the White House.

mankai on November 4, 2010 at 8:53 AM

you’ll see our friend Renee Ellmers, for instance

Ed,

Bob Ethridge is doing an al Franken in NC-02. There were 453 ballots “found” and all of them were for Bob Ethridge. These ballots put the race below the 1% needed for a recount. Imagine that. the Dems are stealing another election.

unseen on November 4, 2010 at 8:53 AM

This is all well and good, but we can’t get too tied up in celebrating. We need to work to get our message out, to get the debt paid down, to get Obama out of office, and to get the socialists and Democrats (to the degree there’s a difference anymore) out of office as much as possible in 2012. We have to get this country working again, in every sense of the word. It’s okay to enjoy Tuesday’s victory to some degree, but it’s going to be completely meaningless if we don’t follow through. And that followthrough has to start now.

Being negative is as easy as gravity. Being optimistic takes strength and courage- and Sarah has it! God bless her!

She had me until the cheeseball grizzly at the end. ;) Otherwise, the best, most effective and inspiring ad I’ve seen. Great job!

oh wait….no they are too busy pointing fingers. Palin is running rings around these idiots in DC.

Not one establishment person has even had the thought enter their little heads to do an ad AFTER the election. Palin like the dems understands the next election starts the day after the last election not like the GOP DC elites 3 months before the next election.

Just before the election, Hillbuzz said Sarah’s theme song should be “We’re Not Gonna Take It.” This video gives me that vibe. What I like most is how she gives kudos to those that won and America! That’s the way it should be.

Be positive but come out swinging!

And the bear roar doesn’t hurt anything.

That is a great idea, too bad the GOP does not run ads telling America Thanks for giving them a chance. Tell America the good news about them voting in Republican majorities in all those states. Tell them on their radar for 2012 when they run for house seats. Even put out there that all their guys did not make it through the primaries, but that is what is great about elections, the people get to decide, not the GOP. Dems decide theirs.

Ms. Palin definitely understands the power of modern media.

If President Bush and the rest of the Republican establishment was this media savvy we might not have lost 2006 & 2008.

I especially like the tone of the video – it’s not just celebratory…

As a 20+ year advertising nerd, I give the 9.5 out of 10. And I agree with the poster who said that this isn’t a victory lap, so much as a “rally the troops for the next battle” piece.

Oh, and I loved the bear at the end.

creatocon on November 4, 2010 at 9:30 AM

Of all our accomplishments in this past election, I’m MOST proud of the diverse backgrounds, heritages, and experiences of our newly-elected representatives. Our conservative ideals are what matter most to us, and these ideals are truly reflected in the conservative melting pot we’ve kept warm.

For us, it’s about the common morals, values, and concerns we share – while on the other side, it’s diversity first; and only for diversity’s sake.

I’ve never been more proud of the message we are sending to our fellow Americans. Our party only gets stronger by not compromising our conservativism , and ensuring that everyone who shares them is invited to join.

I feel your pain – I lived for 8 years total in California back in the late 80′s and again in the late ’90′s. I found California to be a beautiful place – but it’s really the largest Communist state in the USA. Never, have I seen a more fascist tax collection agency than the California Franchise Tax Collection Board. If you were documented, and had a job – they literally killed you on taxes. They’d recompute your tax returns and then give you 10 days to prove you didn’t owe them $3,000 more. It was ridiculous – I was MILITARY – and not a resident of CA – I never owed them any taxes.

It’s the ultimate “redistributive” state. Taking from the producers and giving to the undocumented and the addicts and the sillyazz liberals and their sillyazz programs. If you live in California and you’re a productive citizen – you’re already a slave – you just don’t know it.

Great photo of the Statue of Liberty Ed. Nothing is more invigorating than the simple sign of Constitutional Freedom, guaranteed by “WE, THE PEOPLE”. And to repeat the mantra we heard from the left, (and deservedly some on the right), ELECTIONS DO HAVE CONSEQUENCES!

Rovin on November 4, 2010 at 9:10 AM

It would be a great symbol of “morning in America” to see the sun rising behind the Statue of Liberty, but whoever filmed this got it BACKWARDS! The film shows the sun rising and moving to the left, whereas at the latitude of New York City, the sun always rises within 30 degrees of east, then moves toward the south–toward the RIGHT when looking east. What was actually filmed was probably a sunset in reverse, looking west over New Jersey.

This might seem like nitpicking, but anyone who lives near the Statue of Liberty and knows the geography of the area (millions of people) would quickly notice the error.

This reminds me of an anecdote from the Constitutional Convention, where one of the chairs had a painting of a half-sun on the horizon, and one of the drafters of the Constitution wondered aloud whether it was a rising or setting sun.

If it’s Morning in America, let’s get it right this time!

the Rinos are running the same playbook. they don’t understand yet. It is the problem McCain had. when the rinos point out someone elses problems like Palin’s candidate lsong in AK or De and think we got her now. Her supporters can simply point to CA. It’s the well he did it too and then it becomes a populartity contest which the snale gop establishment always lose.

One of the best arguments against the Tea Party being racist is this video. Blacks, Hispanics, Whites, Men, Women. But the beauty is that this isn’t diversity for the sake of diversity (Obama’s “We need more white people”), but the fact that unifying conservative values bring in a diverse collection of Americans. It’s almost like voters were judging the candidates on the content of their charachters, not the color of their skin. Perhaps the dems can learn something from that. Naaaah.

yetanotherjohn on November 4, 2010 at 11:49 AM
