Quotes of the day

posted at 10:55 pm on October 27, 2010 by Allahpundit

“MATTHEWS: Okay I gotta wonder, Chris Cillizza I gotta wonder when people are gonna start wearing uniforms. I mean they’ve got an army out there in Alaska of militia people. You’ve got these guys going around acing like street thugs. I mean it isn’t far from what we saw in the thirties, where all of a sudden, political parties started showing up in uniform.

“CILLIZZA, WASHINGTON POST: Two things, one, take it out of politics a little bit. You can’t do that, right? You don’t do that. You don’t act like that in decent society. So, so put the politics aside. I would say-

“MATTHEWS: You don’t think is right wing by its very nature? Isn’t this extremist politics physically manifested?”

***
“And here we go. After trashing Karl Rove (bloodsucker) and Glenn Beck (chicken little) and comparing the Tea Party candidates to ‘moderately talented actors’ at a Comedy Club on Improv night asked to play on the absurd premise of running for congress, Olbermann shouted a rallying cry: ‘Vote backward, vote Tea Party!’ and launched into a highlight reel of Tea Party gaffes, candidate by candidate…

“‘You are willing to let these people run this country?’ he demanded of his audience, angrily. ‘These are the cranks, menaces, mercenaries, and authoritarians you will turn this country over to?’”

“‘The Tea Party, he said, is trying to ‘establish a theocracy for white males.’”

Where was this idiot and his megaphone one week ago? Two weeks ago? Leave it to him to choose the first game of the World Series to compete with and in most parts of the country when early voting has come and almost gone.

I heard a lady on the radio say she stood in line today over one hour to vote when it usually takes her ten minutes. And everybody was silent but smiling at each other, in an “I’ve been waiting for this! way”, she said.

Always there with Dire Straits music, especially Knopfler’s extraordinary playing. My list goes on and on with many great guitarist, but those were my top 5 influences.

There’s a great line in the movie, A Bridge too Far, when a father and son in a Dutch house suddenly hear a massive amount of noise and yelling as the German army streams by headed eastward.
The son turns to his dad and says, “What is all the noise , what does this mean”?
The father starts to smile and says, “Panic”!

Olber-Behar, hey that say about everything about each. Self-high-five.

jcrue on October 28, 2010 at 11:06 AM

As a conservative, all I can do is laugh at this guy. If there is one thing that, I believe, drives the conservative movement, it is that WE believe in the power of the individual.

So when he says, conservatives “believe not in the power of the individual, but in the power of corporations”, he is just egregiously wrong.

Liberals make this claim because conservatives believe in capitalism, which is at its heart, ironically, a belief that the individual can create wealth and jobs better than the government.

He rails at the disenginous consertatives, and I can think of noone more disenginous and (as diatribe displays) more willing to take anyone and everyone out of context.

I’d call it intellectual dishonesty, but it goes beyond that. Not that this is news to anyone here, but Olby has a screw or two loose. Just an angry, vicious, small man who fancies himself above all else.

Only one side shows up in uniforms and it’s NOT the tea party—–> http://gatewaypundit.firstthings.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/SEIU-Amercan.jpg

When does Comcast take over NBCU?

There is one person who is responsible for MSNBC programing “Phil Griffin” metrosexual extraordinaire.

GE got a tax payer bailout courtesy of Uncle Sam…..MSNBC is leaning on the American Tax Payer, and lifting their leg on them at the same time.

Will all the hate and vitriol that Matthews, Maddow, and Olberman, Maher, Behar, Golberg, Pelosi, Obama, and so many others are fomenting result in more and more violent attacks against Conservatives, Tea party activists, pro-lifers, Christians, Jews, etc.?

I have no doubt that it will result in more cases of violent attack, vandalism, harassement, and even murders, and I have no doubt that the MSN will ignore it and not include such in their news, save to turn it around and say something negative about the victims as if the victims did the crime.

Furthermore, I have no doubt that the leftists-Democrats-Fifth Columnists will justify such violence and go so far as to blame the victims and somehow skew things so the perpetrators are not guilty of anything.

Really. The thuggish purple people-beaters army is the closest thing in America to a brownshirt militia, and they are at the Bamster’s beck and call. The SEIU have been sent to intimidate bankers in their homes, and to beat up anyone that disagrees with JOTUS. Bammie said “I’m all that stands between you and the pitchforks”, and it’s the SEIU he was talking about.
