Joy Behar on Sharron Angle: This bitch is going to hell

Via Mediaite, a mundane clip in some ways and a noteworthy one in another. Mundane because (a) this isn’t the first time Behar’s dropped a B-bomb on a prominent conservative woman, natch, and (b) if you needed a reminder of just how shrill and buffoonish she can be, you already got one two weeks ago. What makes it noteworthy is less the clip itself than what it portends for the next 168 hours: We are, after all, now seven short days away from Election Day, which means Refudiation Week has officially begun. And needless to say, as the reality of the wave crashes in, I suspect we’re going to see some mighty interesting coping mechanisms playing out among among liberals. Pelosi’s already entered some sort of Queeg-ian fugue state of denial, and last night on Twitter Olbermann was promising a 20-minute mega-special comment rant tomorrow about the tea party. By the end of the week I expect Bob Beckel to be weeping openly on-air and near-hourly references to 1933 Germany on MSNBC. And that’s just the next week; imagine what the reaction will be like next Wednesday after the results are in. Imagine.
Exit question: Could it be that when she said “hell,” Behar was simply making a cheeky reference to the Senate? Because in that case, she’s right about Angle.

I’m not about to go along with this nonsense. I support Brewer in AZ, because it’s about federal funding and federal over-reach. She’s right, in my opinion, to challenge the Feds.

I lived in So. Cal. for over 25 years. I respect Latinos a lot.
I’ve never known such hard workers, such family-oriented people.
It’s been HARD on these families to have the latest version of no borders. They all entered illegally, so they are sympathetic. They certainly didn’t enter pushing drugs for a job, so they aren’t sympathetic.
It’s been just creepy to watch what’s happened to those communities.
But, her ad? It’s way over the line, in my opinion. I can tell, because I’m offended on behalf of so many real Latino families I know and respect!
It really is a racist ad.

Most (at least 3/4ths according to PEW) illegal immigrants are hispanic (primarily from Mexico, El Salvador & Guatamala). The vast majority of illegal aliens in Arizona (which is what the ad was discussing) are hispanic; in 2009, only approximately 330 were Chinese. So, Ms. Behar, what should the ad have shown – Chinese illegal aliens? Canadian illegal aliens?

Illegals have helped destroy Ca economy, M13 is a danger across the nation now, other gangs, drugs, coyotes, etc.
The ad depicts exactly what illegal and uncontrolled immigration creates, chaos, crime, economic hardship…you should learn to look at an ad and actually listen to what it says, and not to the voices in your head.

I see nothing wrong with the ad. I live in Virginia and the Latino gangs here have exploded in the last few years. They are vicious and bloodthirsty. It’s quite alarming. And yes, the vast majority of them are illegal aliens. Well, at least the vast majority of them that have been arrested and are known to the system.

The ad does not depict all hispanics as being dangerous. It depicts dangerous illegal immigrants as being dangerous. Being from Texas, and swimming up to my neck in problems caused by illegal immigration, I happen to agree with and like this ad.
However, I do question the wisdom of going there in a campaign.

I have no problem with this ad. We lived in a neighborhood for three years that illegals were in the process of taking over. Only those sheltered from such an experience would have trouble with the message. However, some of the images do seem a little offensive. But the message is appropriate.

The ad… is not racist. If it is, almost anything that comes out of Hollywood is also racist. Many of those clips could have been pulled from a rap video. I’m betting much of it was actually stock to begin with as I am unsure there’s central casting for political ads.

Today, an 18 year old hispanic male just got arrested where I live (very small community) for raping and robbing an 85 year old woman who had to use a walker to get around. Stole her phones so she couldn’t even call for help. He is from CA and just moved here in the last month.
Ann needs to re-evaluate her sense of indignation. There are some very bad hispanics out there. Very bad. There are also very good hispanics out there. In fact, the good outweigh the bad ones by a huge proportion, but the fact remains that there are some really horrible illegal aliens out there who are causing mortal damage to our communities. I happen to live near one of those communities. 5K population that is under seige by hispanic gangs. Our state has only in the last few months awakened to the FACT that we have a problem.
