Video: And now an important message on climate change from James Cameron
posted at 8:37 pm on October 25, 2010 by Allahpundit
Via Breitbart, to cleanse the palate, a salute from the makers of “Not Evil, Just Wrong” to the man responsible for “The Terminator,” “Aliens,” “Titanic,” “Avatar,” and a larger carbon footprint than you or I could produce in a thousand lifetimes. Consider this payback for Brave Sir Robin calling climate change skeptics “swine,” taunting them to put up or shut up in a debate, and then scurrying away once the debate challenge was accepted. Granted, it’s a very easy lay-up, but as any hoops fan knows, when the easy lay-up is there you take it.

My ethnic spirituality negates the need for ME to live out my ideals. Now get off my prize winning lawn!!

That looks like Al Gore’s place.
So the message is, live in the mansion or live with the village people?
WoosterOh on October 25, 2010 at 8:39 PM
This is hilarious.
Blake on October 25, 2010 at 8:40 PM
Guess I should of watched the video first, since it came from Breitbart and looking at the title of the video
WoosterOh on October 25, 2010 at 8:41 PM
Hey, Cameron—dude; It sure does look like you’ve got a lot of cool stuff and that’s great, no worries. Tell you what, don’t try to tell anyone else what to live with and we’ll do the same, mmmkay?
your movies do kinda suck, too.
ted c on October 25, 2010 at 8:45 PM
They all live like that. Zoom in, move the map around, put your pointer over the lots. They have “compounds” with multiple houses.
DiCaprio owns a huge house in Holmby Hills and several houses in Malibu, too. Wish I could find a photo of the HH house. It’s gigantic.
Blake on October 25, 2010 at 8:47 PM
Is he hiring…?
Seven Percent Solution on October 25, 2010 at 8:49 PM
Yes but he needs all of that so he can tell us what to do…
right2bright on October 25, 2010 at 8:49 PM
Ahhh, a little Mozart to make the setting perfect. That’s actually a brilliant video. BTW, I didn’t watch his lame-assed Avatar (or Titanic…until it came on TBS…I wish I hadn’t).
This goob is the goat of the century (ok, Obama is the goat of the century, but Cameron is right there on his tail…make your own jokes).

When you’re the Terminator King of the Alien Pandora World you can live how you want.

The hypocrisy is not what we need to hit him with. The scandal is that the CO2 narrative is a lie. The science proves it. CO2 does not, and can not, warm a planet. And the minuscule amount produced my man does not, and could not, contribute to any warming anyway. And finally, whatever warming would occur, or has occurred, or will occur, by any means, can not in any way harm the planet.
So forget about the hypocrisy angle. What if he gave away all his possessions, what then?
keep the change on October 25, 2010 at 8:56 PM
All that good stuff and none of it gives him contentment, sad, just so so sad.

Congratulations, Cameron.
You’ve achieved the nearly impossible feat of equaling the hypocrisy of Algore and Silky Pony Edwards.
hillbillyjim on October 25, 2010 at 9:07 PM
So we pass gas and get a ticket from the fart police but James and his ilk live in compounds and make billions off of the AGW scam? Mmkay.

Speaking of hypocrits, has anyone seen or heard from the algore? Is it milk carton time to try and locate the fool?

Scratch a liberal, you’ll find a hypocrite. Doesn’t bother them in the least.
GarandFan on October 25, 2010 at 9:13 PM
I have to admit, I’d probably be a bigger and smugger azzhole than he is if I had that kind of cash.
But at least I’d be to busy debauching and not be in the public eye.

A humvee fire truck? WTF does he need a fire truck for?
milwife88 on October 25, 2010 at 9:16 PM
He desperately needs someone on the payroll to bitch slap him back to reality every 15 minutes or so.
I’d apply but caliphonya isn’t my kind of place.
What a horse’s asspedastrous.

tru2tx on October 25, 2010 at 9:19 PM
In solidarity to the plight the James has been calling for I have eliminated my helicopter use to just one time a week to over the 4 I did before and will only go to my Secluded Ocean Island in Utah to only 3 times a year over the 5 times I did before. I hope this is enough to lower the temperature by 0.001 degrees to solve all changes in environment so that it never change again.
tjexcite on October 25, 2010 at 9:20 PM
I want to make a t-shirt that has mansions on the front with big heads of Cameron, DiCaprio and Al Gore popping out. Under the picture it says “I just can`t take you seriously.”
ThePrez on October 25, 2010 at 9:21 PM
Like George Lucas, Cameron hasn’t made a good film in years and seems to getting stupider as he gets older.

Anyone supportive of the tar sands can’t exactly call themselves stewards of the environment.
ernesto on October 25, 2010 at 9:23 PM
He owns a couple of submersibles. Like the kind they went down to film the titanic in (the real thing, not the movie).

A fleet of submarines?
azkenreid on October 25, 2010 at 9:25 PM
I’d buy one.
mrsmwp on October 25, 2010 at 9:26 PM
Everything looks green and lush because it must have rained and because of their 10k a month water bills. It’s fire country up there. Not sure what you could use a fire truck for unless you had the man power and training. I think a bulldozer that you could use to dig a fire break might be more useful. But, what do I know?
Blake on October 25, 2010 at 9:27 PM
Hey. I’m trying. I’m trying.
nukemhill on October 25, 2010 at 9:28 PM
There must be an exclusive lounge where the elites like Cameron and DiCaprio watch endless streaming loops of their public pronouncements and pontifications while knocking back rounds of shooters and slapping each other on the back and belly laughing.
Rich Irony!

I have raised three kids and cleaned up my fair share of puke. I wonder do I now of the right to puke and not clean it up? What about the trash I pick up on a regular basis? Can I now throw my trash out the car window?

Another rich white liberal using minorities to advance HIS agenda. I bet they laughed at his ass when he left. Oh, did I smear my cell phone with face paint. Damm.
Hummer53 on October 25, 2010 at 10:38 PM
Tell you what, Sir James of the Insufferable Ego, why don’t you get back to us with how “down” you are with eco-terrorism after the Earth Liberation Front throws sand in the gears of your next monument to your awesome self? Consider it a test of your character (i.e. you can dish out your preachiness, but can you be preached to and get the point).
ya2daup on October 25, 2010 at 10:51 PM
First let him give away all his possessions, then tell him it’s a lie. After all, it’s really for his own good.
DrMagnolias on October 26, 2010 at 5:44 AM
I’ve noticed that many Hollywood folks take on a “cause”; it’s good for their self-promotion. However, Mr. Cameron may not be any greater a hypocrite than you or I.
It’s hard not to be a “hypocrite” on the issue of carbon emissions and live in this society, unless one is a denialist. Perhaps it is easier to be a denialist and therefore not open one’s self to being named a “hypocrite” (perhaps why we have so many denialists?)
We have reached a point where the evidence for anthropogenic climate change/disruption is so compelling that I can understand how so many would simply choose to ignore the issue or to deny it even is an issue – it’s easier on the conscience.

Game, set, match. Thanks for the post (and the lovely Mozart concerto excerpt).

The guy makes a living (a very good living)at producing Make Believe that people pay hard earned money to see and escape from the daily grind for awhile and he expects us to take him seriously when he promotes more make believe in the form of global warming. Ok, I got the picture now.
Kissmygrits on October 26, 2010 at 10:00 AM
New troll?
Blake on October 26, 2010 at 10:13 AM
oaklands been around for a while, Blake. Usually pops up on global warming/climate change/climate disruption threads, to insist that the science is “overwhelming!!!!” and the debate is over and there is nothing, nothing at all in dispute!
When shown items that are, in fact, in dispute, said Oakland refuses to acknowledge them. So yes, a troll.
That said, Cameron is a hypocrite. If you want a liberal who isn’t much of one, check out Steve Jobs. He’s a lefty (invited Al Gore onto Apple’s board?) but actually has lived a fairly minimalist life, sometimes taken to absurdities such as not having any furniture. And even though he’s worth billions his new house is going to be some small 2500 square foot thingie. Plus, he spends his time making gadgets for people, not running his mouth off on the environment.
