Obama’s turnout pitch to Latinos: Get out there and punish your “enemies”

I wonder how this rhetoric squares with his standard condescending line about Republican-leaning voters not thinking clearly because their minds are clouded by economic anxiety. Does economic anxiety also explain why Latino turnout isn’t quite where the Democrats need it to be (although, per this new Politico poll, it’s getting there)? Or is this the first, last, and only case this year of The One admitting that his own failures — specifically, the failure to pass amnesty — might be even partly responsible for the Democrats’ predicament? And what about those supposed “enemies” that Latinos should be turning out to punish? Are they actual enemies like those shadowy bastards donating to the Chamber of Commerce or, as Obama himself once famously suggested, are they merely bitterly clinging to xenophobia to soothe their own economic frustrations?

Democratic demagoguery can be so confusing.

In a radio interview that aired on Univision on Monday, Mr. Obama sought to assure Hispanics that he would push an immigration overhaul after the midterm elections, despite fierce Republican opposition.

“If Latinos sit out the election instead of saying, ‘We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us,’ if they don’t see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, then I think it’s gonna be harder and that’s why I think it’s so important that people focus on voting on November 2.”

Referring specifically to Republicans such as Senator John McCain, who are stressing border security and supporting strict immigration laws like Arizona’s anti-illegal immigration measure, Mr. Obama said, “Those aren’t the kinds of folks who represent our core American values.”

I’m half-disappointed that he didn’t go the whole nine yards and call Republicans “un-American” just to put a bow on the last month of campaign rhetoric, but there’s still plenty of time until the polls open next Tuesday. Meanwhile, via Jim Geraghty, in the same interview a guy who once touted his election as the moment the rising of the oceans would slow took care to warn Latinos not to expect amnesty overnight since, after all, “I am not king.” Which is true: Having 60 seats in the Senate and a huge House majority evokes the power of some lesser nobility, like a duke. To be king, he’d need at least, say, 70 Senate seats. Is that what he’s asking for now in order to pass stuff?

Take a look at the words he has used in the past. “Argue with your neighbors, get in their face, if they bring a knife, you bring a gun, hand to hand combat,… now it’s “punish your enemies.”

This is beyond creepy. He needs to be called on these words. Let some Republican go out or someone on talk radio say take back your country and they’ll be accused of HilterSpeak.

Is this man is trying to incite violence? At the least, he continues to use words that inspire violent imagery against his opponents. What does a Democrat have to say before the so called mainstream press calls them on it. How extreme will be too extreme? What words will be too far over the line before it becomes just plain threats of violence?? I am asking serious questions here. Is this the example of the kinds of words political politicians are suppose to use against each other in America? It’s freaking surreal. In one speech he’s stating that people need to tone things down and in the next speech he’s telling his supporters to punish their (meaning his!) enemies! This is freaking insane!

Oh, how I hope. Today, reading what many Republicans are saying is that they’re waiting til Nov.2 to cast vote. Quite a few site the reason being that voter fraud may be less likely. More than a few posters here have opined that obama is losing it, melting down or is crazy.

I would like to opine that this is all merely the unfolding of the master plan.

As our little barry knows, violence is most likely necessary in order to order martial law.

This shouldn’t be too difficult. obama’s union goons will be the agent provocateurs to get the ball rolling, and with the kindling already starting to smoke as a result of our “president’s” race baiting/hating speeches, martial law may be just around the corner.

Seriously. What an utter nitwit. Obama came into office with a partisan chip on his shoulder a mile wide, and set the parameters of his presidency with “I won”. He’s the one whose job it was to set the tone in Washington. He’s the one who raised voter expectations about a “post-partisan” era of governance. And yet, he’s the one out consistently flinging poo.

Say what you will about G.W. Bush, at least he was an ADULT. The Executive Branch is not the place for poo-flinging. At that level you leave the poo-flinging behind and stand for EVERY American you made an oath to protect.
