Video: Sean Bielat heckled by Barney Frank’s “significant other”

posted at 7:36 pm on October 17, 2010 by Allahpundit

Via Fleming and Hayes, who say two eyewitnesses at the scene recognized this guy as Frank’s boyfriend. Bielat’s campaign recognized him too and confirmed his identity when asked by Brian Faughnan. Three possibilities for why the BF would do something this lame and embarrassing: (1) The Frank campaign is increasingly nervous about the challenge from Bielat, especially considering that Bielat outraised him last quarter. (2) The Frank campaign is prone to abrasive jackass behavior, mainly because it is, after all, run by Barney Frank. As Gay Patriot says, “You just can’t talk about this guy without laughing at his hypocrisy — and his arrogance.” (3) Per Obama’s unified field theory for why bad things happen to good Democrats, the Frank campaign is in the grip of economic fear that causes it to do irrational things contrary to “facts and science and argument.” Feel free to choose all of the above, but number one is my favorite.

Doug Powers wonders what would have happened here had the roles been reversed and, say, Bielat’s wife been caught heckling Frank. My guess: The single most fulsome “to what uncivil depths hath these wingnuts sunk now?” column ever written by Frank Rich. Alas, we’ll never get to read it. Exit question: Frank and Bielat have debated five times? Why would Frank sacrifice some of his advantage in name recognition by agreeing to that many forums? Sheer bravado?

Update: Here’s the Boston Herald’s official version of the video.

Interesting how it isolates itself in Democrats.

You know better than that, as if any Republican Majority or Administration has ever eliminated fraud, earmarks or 20+% kickbacks on legislated appropriations.

The heckling wasn’t so bad….it was the spittle from all the lisping that was the problem.

There is no tighter political activist community than the gay coalition.

Given Barney Frank’s greasing the FANNY/FREDDY legislation guaranteeing fraud and bankruptcy of mortgage lenders and tax payers, that alone is reason to boot him out of office. But even that is only the icing on his cake. Like the Clintons and now the Obamas, there is no bottom to his pit of corruption. And the problem with this type of politician is that it is always the taxpayer left holding the debt and ruin while the politicians waltz off with massive fortunes.

You know what really surprises me… I could not find one thing about it in a “main stream” news source. We get video and news like that when a random person heckles a politician… how could the significant other or a candidate not get ink?

Don’t put it past Frank-n-Furter to trot out all the tricks in the book.

Wait, is that a double-entendre I saw wandering around my post?

Was he one of the whore boys in Barney’s brothel?

Please please please, let this be worked into a heavily run campaign commercial for the rest of the election cycle.

Anyone notice Barney “Elmer Fud” in the background? He was walking that way. Check out the 10 sec mark?

jlemieu1 on October 18, 2010 at 11:36 AM

Lisping. Why the lisping? How come some gay men lisp and others don’t? The heckler has a lisp. I think B Frank does too but it’s hard to hear with his raspy voice.

Saying someone’s jokes aren’t funny isn’t heckling. After reading about this in several places I finally saw the video clip today and it is pretty tame given the other stuff going on in this election.

That’s crap. They are all over the place in terms of message and ideology.

Is it “lisp” or “lithp”?

Wasn’t Hillary famous for getting into meetings held by opponents of Billy’s in Arkansas governor’s races and heckling them?

Real men don’t hide behind cameras. He never showed his face. Fear, indeed.
