Obligatory: Whoopi and Behar fight with O’Reilly, storm off set of “The View”

posted at 4:15 pm on October 14, 2010 by Allahpundit

Via Greg Hengler, I almost take them seriously enough to care. No, just kidding: I don’t remotely take them seriously enough to care. But “The View” is as much a part of Hot Air lore as Humpbot or “dude” headlines or dopey atheism posts, so when a magical moment happens on the set, we. are. there.

O’Reilly’s sin here is to say that 9/11 was perpetrated by Muslims rather than by Muslim extremists, an offense so egregious to Behar that her delicate conscience had to be removed from his presence. Funny thing: That same conscience never trembled when leftist moron Rosie O’Donnell dropped dark hints about 9/11 being an inside job on a regular basis on the show. In other words, fail to specify which view of Islam the hijackers held and Behar’s apt to need smelling salts; suggest that the attack wasn’t perpetrated by Muslims at all and … not a twitch. You’re a good liberal, Joy. Say, I wonder what happens on Joy’s talk show when lefty guests deride “the tea party” as racist, violent, anti-gay, etc etc? Does she walk out then too in indignation at the guests’ refusal to properly qualify which tea partiers they mean? I’d check the tapes, except … see the first paragraph above.

As for Whoopi, she chimes in with ye olde left-wing canard about Timothy McVeigh being a Christian. It’s not true — unlike the hijackers, neither he nor his motive were religious — but no amount of persuasion will get liberals to give up that talking point. It’s too useful in drawing false equivalencies when jihadists attack. Anyway, O’Reilly duly apologizes and clarifies what he meant and the two “hosts” duly return, content that he’s been properly chastened, and all’s well that ends well. Note to O’R: Next time you’re on, suggest that Bush blew up the Towers as a pretext for starting a war with Iraq. See if anyone leaves. I know which way I’m betting.

When faced with the truth and the facts, and the overwhelming evidence that what you hold dear is clearly false and wrong, what else can you? You walk off and refuse to listen.

These type of folks will not let anything disturb their beliefs. If you present facts and figures and they storm off…. You might as well have your debate with the neighbor’s cat.

Now that I think about it, I think it was all just a clever ruse by Bill to make the set more pleasing to the eye.

shorebird on October 15, 2010 at 12:11 AM

Just saw the clip on Greta, good for Barbara for saying that and pointing out Whoopi and Joy’s childish bs to the crowd that loved it all.

I swear Whoopi and Joy act just like little children and the grown up had to admonish them both.
But Whoopi and Joy are liberals so what more could we expect?

B Man on October 15, 2010 at 12:48 AM

My favorite part was when Joy stood in front of Bill, in profile…

So, when is the baby due?

Khun Joe on October 15, 2010 at 1:15 AM

This is the same Whoopie G who defended Polanski for anal rape cos it wasn’t “rape rape”?

Actually I think Goldberg is just stupid.

Hope on October 15, 2010 at 3:48 AM

Strange. Half-way through that clip, “the View” became much better. I can’t put my finger on why, though.

Squiggy on October 15, 2010 at 6:40 AM

Behar and Goldberg both behaved like four-year-old totalitarians.

zoyclem on October 15, 2010 at 7:39 AM

Liberals watch too much wrestling. They think it’s high class to stage everything -even this orchestrated piece of childish behavior. I’m amazed they didn’t try to hold their breath first.

Don L on October 15, 2010 at 7:54 AM

Foeget all the PC nuances – is terrorism now part of the left’s protected rainbow coalition – their ally, as it were?

Don L on October 15, 2010 at 8:00 AM

I’d say the show just improved its intelligence quotient by 75% with those ditzes walking off. Maybe they will stay gone. Too much to hope for.

Sporty1946 on October 15, 2010 at 8:57 AM

They were too enraged to go on, because he said Muslims attacked us on 9/11….

Can you say faking it????

Allah is right, this is ridiculous, but it has worked. It has been on the news shows on every channel. Of course, no one watches most of thos news shows.

jeffn21 on October 15, 2010 at 9:29 AM

When two cows walk off the stage and no one is watching does it make a noise?

PatriotPete on October 15, 2010 at 9:41 AM

THIS is what liberals do when they lose the argument, or have no counter-argument.

tx2654 on October 15, 2010 at 10:10 AM

You should not have apologized, Bill. First, the couch breathed a sign of relief after they got up and left. Second, it was Muslims who murdered 3,000 people on September 11, 2001.

kingsjester on October 15, 2010 at 10:14 AM

I don’t think it was faked and I don’t think Bill apologized. What I saw happening was 1: All three got too hot under the collar to hear what the other was saying 2. Had they stayed and talked it out, both sides might have come to some agreement(or at least compromise) on the factions in the Muslim faith and how these played a role.3. The instigator of this childish behavior was Joy Behar. Whoopie merely followed along sheeplike(did not know she was like this!!)It’s possible that Joy WAS looking for publicity and saw this as a means. In any case, both ladies looked silly and O’Reilly should have calmed down long enough to at least try to listen to Whoopie’s ranting. I must say though, that O’Reilly’s spin on the thing was close to ingenious. lol

The One View…………is Ameriphobic.

My IQ dropped 30 points watching that clip.

Loved Whoopi’s clown suit. Quite apropo.

fogw on October 15, 2010 at 10:31 AM

That’ll learn him. How dare he make a factually correct statement like that in front of ladies of such refinement and delicacy?

Tres Angelas on October 15, 2010 at 11:08 AM

Someone blew a dog whistle off stage.

I am in the U.K. For over thirty years we have had I.R.A
terrorists blowing us up.

Some are still at it,

They are mostly catholic. Should we refuse to build churches
and blame all catholic’s not just the terrorits?

mags on October 15, 2010 at 12:06 PM

Conservatives are on wrong side of this issue. It is about freedom of religion. It was radical Muslims not main stream or even traditionalist Muslims. If it was main stream Muslims, then with so many we have no hope. Get a grip and stop being hypocrites. When conservatives just take the opposite view and forget about freedom of religion I have little hope in Americas future.

Ed Laskie on October 14, 2010 at 8:53 PM

Sorry, but you’re 100% WRONG!!!

The USA has ALWAYS insisted that all groups, INCLUDING RELIGIONS, conform to its laws.

That is why the Mormons were treated as outlaws until they reformed and denounced polygamy, quit practicing it, …and became a law-abiding, mainstream religion.

Similarly, Muslims must denounce and completely reform their teachings which advocate enslaving, cheating, lying to, and killing people who don’t believe in their religion, and violent overthrowing of our government. ONLY THEN can they claim that they are a legitimate, mainstream religion.

Until then, they are (at a minimum) aiding and abetting Muslim terrorism.

BO’R shouldn’t have clarified nor apologized. Far as I’m concerned Behar and Goldberg off the set means two less Libtard hypocrite harpy SeaHags out of my sight.

CatchAll on October 15, 2010 at 1:31 PM

Behar is dimmer than a burned out light bulb.

jdawg on October 15, 2010 at 2:59 PM

Good job Barbara Walters for chastising the Whoopster and Behar.

Bad job AP for encouraging me to watch “The View”.

the ratings went up 10 points when they walked off stage…
