It’s on: Sean Bielat vs. Barney Frank

posted at 8:33 pm on October 11, 2010 by Allahpundit

More than any other race this year, this one reminds me of the quixotic conservative campaigns against Murtha in 2006 and 2008. That is to say, I’m 98 percent sure we’ll end up having our hearts broken, but an upset would be so intoxicatingly sweet that I want to do what I can to help promote Bielat. The clips come from today’s talk radio debate in Massachusetts, which was notable mainly for Frank demanding that Bielat stop interrupting him even when he wasn’t interrupting him. In case you don’t want to watch it all and are looking for a place to dive in, clip two begins with a discussion of the tea party. Would it shock you to know that Frank isn’t a big fan? Here’s the donation page on Bielat’s website. Nothing else you do today will make you feel as good. Exit quotation: “Barney Frank hasn’t had a real opponent since 1982. There hasn’t been anybody who’s put together a serious campaign, raised the money necessary to win, and competed in a real way. We’re doing that this year.”

Man, the tried-and-tired tactics don’t work so well for Fwank when some cowed media shill isn’t pitching (oh, uh, eww) softballs (uh, sorry) to him.

I Have to say, Barney seems a little anxious.

He was a filthy, rude, arrogant, smelly little troll when he sat in Kevin White’s hallway as his gofer back in the bad old days and the troll hasn’t changed one bit. I hope he gets crushed. Even the people of Newton, who just got suckered into building a $250M High School have had enough with the likes of Frank and he knows it. That’s why he running scared. The people of Newton are generally highly educated so they know exactly the role Frank played in the financial crisis. He can’t BS them. The only question is, how much do they rely on him to butter their own bread.

TheBigOldDog on October 11, 2010 at 8:47 PM

Well, at least we know why it’s a radio program. The visual constrasts are striking, not to mention the issues.

Barney Frank is an enema of the peephole.

Sean Bielat slam dunked a victory in that debate!

Sean Bielat looked cool as a cucumber and was exceptionally well prepared.

Bwaney Fwank looked nervous and was fidgeting like a 10 year-old.

Please forward these videos to everybody you know in the 4th Congressional district of Massachusetts!

Bielat should have dropped something on the floor and bent over at the waist to pick it up every time it was Barneys turn to answer. Frank would have been too twitterpated to answer.

Irrespective of what they’re saying, Bielat cleaned the floor with Braney Frank on style alone.

Barney Frank sounds panicky and flustered, yammering away and stuttering. While Bielat has a calm, measured manner that inspires confidence and is very appealing. He’s in command of the material and himself.

DelD on October 11, 2010 at 9:36 PM

Bwarney Fwank – king of the fillibuster. Mr. Bielat was politely waiting his turn but Mr. Frank keeps sucking up all the time with his wandering ramblings. Shut this man up. Go Sean!!!

At the end of the 1 video and most the the 2nd is devoted to National Security. Frank basically is saying pull all military troops out. “He doesn’t see …”

Here is another video where Frank didn’t see a problem as it pertains to Fanny and Freddie. The whole 8 minute video is extremely educational as to how we got in the financial situation we’re in, but the money quote from Frank is at 4:52.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MGT_cSi7Rs

If Frank’s blindness to pending danger only hurt those in his district, then they deserve him. The fact is they’ve foisted this idiot on the rest of the Nation and we don’t deserve it.

This from the guy, who, when given the House gavel shuts down the opposition:

“The gentleman will suspend! [bang bang] The gentleman will suspend! [bang bang] THE GENTLEMAN WILL SUSPEND! [bang bang] THE GENTLEMAN WILL SUSPEND!” Even when the “gentleman’s” time had not expired and had consent to continue.

Barney Frank is one of the few people who just demonstrates day after day what a horrible, sorry excuse of a person he is.

Here is a link to another debate Sean Bielat had with Bwaney Fwank today on BroadSide.

Another VICTORY for Sean Bielat!

In this debate Bwaney Fwank argues that he has been leading the fight to stop home ownership for low income people. Ummm…Who is going to believe that?

Sean Bielat clearly has Democwat Wep. Bwaney Fwank running scared!

Well, in truth, during the past year, Bawney has been saying, “some people shoodnt be in housses, they weally should be wenting”. Of course, this is after Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac cratered over the “afooadable hawsing [heck I can't even phonetically spell how he pronounces it] that he was promoting before last year and when he famously said those organizations were in no danger of failure.

/yet another Democrat who was for it before he was against it.

Thanks to AllahPundit and Ed for maintaining this blog. I really appreciate being able to see videos like this.

Bottom line, it’s time for the people in the fourth congressional district of Massachusetts to enjoy fresh leadership and representation. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Frank has become complacent and this is evidenced by his egregious behavior this summer at one of the town hall meetings, to say nothing of his unethical willingness to outright lie about the financial state of Freddie Mac just before it was nationalized.

It’s time for Barney Frank to return home to Massachusetts and allow the fourth district to have the kind of representation they deserve.

I guess I’ll wait til tomorrow but today it really feels like momentum is building for Republicans.

Obama’s gang really didn’t help themselves by attacking the Chamber of Commerce, I bet everyone knows someone in the Chamber of Commerce. That is like they declared war on your next door neighbor! That is just so dumb.

petunia on October 12, 2010 at 1:14 AM

Bawney’s Fwank is just as idiotic, as usual. He thinks Congressmen should stand up for what they believe, all the while being to stupid and arrogant to realize that we couldn’t give two sh-ts what Senators and Representatives think or believe. They are there to represent us, and to represent what we believe. We don’t send them there to vote in Congress, based on their own personal opinion. His disdain and hatred for the Tea Party typifies this. The Tea Party believes in “of the People, for the People”, and Fwank and his ilk do not. I think Bawney ran his mouth far too much, and there wasn’t enough Bielat talking. He also made an ass out of himself, fidgeting like an autistic child in his zeal to rush out of the gate and spread more lies, whenever Major Bielat laid down the law. I also think it was dumb for Fwank to get in his dig at Bush, referring to the fact that he’d also spent TARP money un-Constitutionally, for bail-outs.

I don’t like Russians, but they sure had Fwank’s number (http://english.pravda.ru/opinion/columnists/27-04-2009/107459-american_capitalism-0/).

Holy Cow, Barney Frank is really full of himself, isn’t he? Geez. How the heck has he been in office for so long? Do people in Mass just not pay attention?

Jewels on October 12, 2010 at 12:37 AM

Part of the problem is voters not paying attention and just voting for the familiar name.

But the more important issue is that the Republican Party has not had enough confidence to identify and support strong Conservative candidates in blue states.

Senator Scott Brown’s election in Massachusetts taught Republicans to believe they could win again, even in deep blue territory.

The silver lining of the Obama-Pelosi-Reid cloud is that it woke up enough patriotic people who are willing to make the sacrifices to run for office this year.

And a combo of the web, blogs, talk radio, tea parties, YouTube and e-mail has made it possible to expose Democrats and spread the word about Conservative candidates relatively inexpensively, with or without the help of the Republican Party.

These are all good trends. We have to learn from them in 2010. And then be ready to identify strong candidates beginning on November 3, who will be ready to run for office in 2012.

We are only in beginning stages of this battle. So the more races conservatives win in 2010, the more momentum we will have for future election victories.

wren on October 12, 2010 at 1:52 AM

I think Barney needs a little reminder on his participation in our current economic situation….

… Via Hot Air!

I also think Barney is not used to a debate without his gavel…

I have no doubt that after that interview…

kit9 on October 12, 2010 at 3:31 AM

Not impressed with the Bielat. He didn’t seem prepared to face Frank and connect him to the housing mess in the way that many commenters here are able to. Frank on the other hand, sounded almost conservative. He talked about immigration without mentioning ammnes a path to citizenship. He implied he was for manning troops along the borders. Frank has said a lot of things couldn’t Bielat come up with one damning quote?

DFCtomm on October 12, 2010 at 3:41 AM

DFC, I think that’s what Barney was expecting. Instead, Sean was respectful, composed, and focused. Besides, you will never be able to pin Barney Frank down as a contributing factor of the housing debacle in a 1-on-1 debate. He simply points fingers at everyone else and blames Bush. Frank will never accept ANY responsibility for the role he played. EVER.
