He wasn’t convicted, he was exonerated. He was the only one in the whole darned Carter Administration with a working brain – the original proposals for Zero Base Budgeting and eliminating the double taxation on corporate profits were Lance ideas.

Once he was gone, we were left with the likes of Jody Powell, Hodding Carter, and Griffin Bell. The smartest adviser Jimmah had left was Amy, and she wasn’t all that bright, either.
