Who’s Polarizing Now?

posted at 8:48 am on October 4, 2010 by Michael van der Galien

Remember how leftists were accusing Fox News talk show host Glenn Beck of being a polarizing figure after and especially before his “Restoring Honor” rally? He was too outspoken, not nuanced enough. Well, how about this?

MSNBC’s Ed Schultz at “One Nation”: “We must fight the forces of evil – the conservatives.”

He went on to say that:

They want it for them, they don’t want it for the people. They talk about the Constitution, but they don’t want to live by it. They talk about our forefathers, but they want discrimination. They want to change this country.

If that’s not “polarizing,” I don’t know what is. “They want discrimination”? Really? Strange, I’ve never heard, say, a Tea Party speaker advocate reintroducing segregation. In fact, if memory serves me well, Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally featured several prominent African American speakers, who demanded an end to Obama’s “divide-and-conquer”-politics. If conservatives “want discrimination,” why is it that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s niece, Alveda King, was happy to accept Beck’s invitation to speak at his event, that stressed moral values such as honor, honesty and respect?

As usual, it is the so-called liberals, not conservatives who are trying to divide the country and who count numerous polarizing figures such as Ed Schultz among their ranks. You’d almost think that they are simply projecting their own beliefs on the conservative movement.

You can watch Schultz displaying his unbelievable amount of hatred for conservatives in this video:

MSNBC’s Ed Schultz at “One Nation”: “We must fight the forces of evil – the conservatives.”

The Left is going insane.

Consider that for years, they’ve dreamed of a Statist utopia, with Free Obamacare, and Free this and Free that (All paid for on the backs of the ‘Rich’), and now it’s being roundly rejected by the people.

They can’t abide this rejection of their core ideology and they are losing their cookies over it.

It’s fun and scary to watch, all at the same time.

One final thing: In a relative sense when someone goes insane, from their point of view they are normal and everyone else is off their rocker – something to always consider from now on when listening to the rantings from the Left.

There you have one of the most striking difference between the left and right. The left claims to be in favor of free speech, but deems the right “evil,” and thus not so much an opposing view to be countered as an enemy to be destroyed. While most of us on the right are generally not terribly keen on leftist politics, I rarely hear words like “evil” flung about by conservatives. This is interesting, as, supposedly, we’re the moral absolutists and religious fundamentalists. Go figure.

regmgr on October 4, 2010 at 9:36 AM

You know, to my mind, if they truly wanted to talk about being “One Nation” then they should have been talking about how to bring conservatives over to their way of thinking, so that we would then all BE united in “one nation” under liberal thought. Its a truly disturbing thought to be so, but that would be the only way they could talk, because “one nation” would incorporate EVERYONE. Are they (And Eddy Boy here) saying that conservative..the “evil” ones…are not a PART of the nation of the USA? That, to me, is the truly disturbing part of his disgusting rant…Ed completely alienates HALF (if not more) of the country from his “One Nation” as if they aren’t a part of the country. Talk about divisive speech! This man is a loon, and he can’t even stay true to the supposed “message” of this failed rally.

Highlar on October 4, 2010 at 9:43 AM

If you ever wondered
which side of the fence you sit on, this is a
great test!

If a Republican doesn’t like guns, he doesn’t buy one.

If a Democrat doesn’t like
guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a Republican is a vegetarian, he doesn’t eat meat.

If a Democrat is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for
everyone.

If a Republican is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.

If a Democrat is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a Republican is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better
his
situation.

A Democrat wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a Republican doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.

Democrats demand that those they don’t
like be shut down.

If a Republican is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church.

A Democrat non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.

If a Republican decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping
for it, or may choose a job that provides it.

A Democrat demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a Republican reads this, he’ll forward it so his friends know how to
vote in November!

A Democrat will delete it because he’s “offended”.

Well, I forwarded it.

I received this from a friend. This is so true.

It’s a free country, even if you have to spend money to bus in union members. I’ve always known that no matter how many marchers the left could get out to their protests, they didn’t really speak for more than a small group of radicals. This year, the tea parties, and Glenn Beck have proven it.

flataffect on October 4, 2010 at 7:47 PM

Dangnabit.

The Constitution was designed so that people could mess up their own states, but not others. If Maine wanted to try a socialist experiment, they could, but they would pay the price. And people would leave if they wanted to leave. However, this federal government takeover of every aspect of the people’s lives _despite_ what The Constitution says makes it so that the people who have already destroyed their states (California, for example) and run them into the ground with their policies are now able to do it to the whole country.

Her in Texas, we don’t want your socialist policies. You can keep them. And we must return the federal government to its Constitutional limits so that we cannot be so adversely affected by the bad policies of other states.

Theophile on October 5, 2010 at 12:49 AM

*Her = Here

Theophile on October 5, 2010 at 12:49 AM

Sometimes, I wish that we could put all of these liberals in their own, cordoned off zone and let them watch as their policies create death, decay and poverty. Let them watch as everything falls apart around them (as it will). And, then, maybe they would learn the error of their ways. The problem is that they have already done this to certain states and now they want to suck dry the blood of the states who have responsibly stayed away from such drivel in order to pay for their drivel just a little while longer. They won’t be satisfied until everybody is just as miserable as they are under an all-controlling government. And, even then, they will still find somebody else to blame whenever everything goes wrong. Because, in their minds, they are always the victim, the downtrodden, and they are always being kept down by somebody else even when they are in complete control.

They can never be wrong. In their minds, no matter how many failures socialism creates, no matter how much suffering and starvation and division it creates, they will always believe that it is better than the standard of living enhancing, freedom producing, liberty reinforcing capitalism which they loathe with every fiber of their being.

They are standing in a torrential rain claiming that it is not raining. The water is rising and they claim that there is no water at all. They are willing to drown because they believe that the water will never reach their mouths, no matter how fast it rises and no matter how many times it has risen to that height before.
