No one is truly that stupid. She had to be doing that as an act.

ButterflyDragon on September 26, 2010 at 10:50 PM
Exactly what I’ve been saying. You can almost see pains shooting through her when she uses lefty twaddle.

Lanceman on September 26, 2010 at 10:57 PM

No they are that stupid and believe their twaddle. I have an older brother who suffers from this illness. He is extremely intelligent in most things that have nothing to do with freedom or politics.

darwin-t on September 26, 2010 at 11:02 PM

darwin-t on September 26, 2010 at 11:02 PM

I have the same brother. Fortunately, I haven’t spoken to him in 30 years. All that dope really toasted his brain. And he lives in Michigan and it’s all Bush’s fault.

Lanceman on September 26, 2010 at 11:05 PM

This was the first time I’d actually seen KP live, up close and personal — so trust me when I tell you, AllahPundit, that she’s out of your league.

That’s right AP. You’re the solid 9 or 10 and she’s the one down around 4 or 5 when it comes to comparative intellectual heft.

She can’t hold a candle to you; you’re clearly too good for her, my friend — even with the beta-male, candy-ass RINO thing factored in.

FlameWarrior on September 26, 2010 at 10:07 PM

That is the biggest laugh that I have had all day long, and right on the money too!

Look, here is how it goes in the real world of factory work, NOT EVEN MANAGEMENT DRINKS. It is too dangerous, against OSHA regs, and oh so many laws these days.

KP is an absolute moron!

Kermit on September 26, 2010 at 11:06 PM

It was Carlson that made the point:

Factories have large fast moving metal objects moving artound, it’s probably not a good idea to be lit up while operating them.

It was Powers that stated, “we don’t know if they were lit up or not”.

And then talks about bankers…. give me a break

That’s like Obama saying; “You can keep your doctor under my plan

Kini on September 26, 2010 at 11:10 PM

I’d rather the dude managing my portfolio weren’t three sheets to the wind either, but my jacked up portfolio isn’t likely to cost me my life. My jacked up Sebring might, or it might cause someone else theirs. That she can’t see the distinction here is mind-boggling.

NoLeftTurn on September 26, 2010 at 11:11 PM

Was I pissed? You have no idea…

jerrytbg on September 26, 2010 at 10:54 PM

Actually, jerry, I do have an idea. I live in San Diego and many of my friends were shipyard workers at NASSCO. Over the years I heard so many tales of these near death experiences that I concluded my rigger buddies were crazy as hell to even work in a shipyard.

Thank God you made it out alive!

Class Warfare.

Bankers make money and if their performance sucks, then they get fired.

Whereas the union jacks produce a Chappaquiddick mobile, and get another raise.

I wonder how loose Powers gets after a few?

Double standard and double vision

I must have the only brother who is truly toasted yet still a Conservative Republican. My brother Danny is a study. Even with his gray matter toasted he loves the military, hates liberals, has trouble affording health care but railed against ObamaCare (we help him) and he’s even against legalizing pot even though that’s his braincell killing drug of choice. I love him. I just wish he could keep me and my younger brother Dave straight. He calls us by each others names.

Obama is a Coke and Pot head.

Just following Standard Government procedure. I guess.

And with Clinton it was said that ‘everyone lies about sex’

But these people are unions smoking and drinking on the taxpayers dime. Is that fair?

And what is fair?

According to her logic? So long as anyone else in the country has a few during lunch… these guys get a pass.

The unions get a pension for life, paid for by our tax dollars.

The Unions get health care for life, paid for by our tax dollars.

How is this fair?

Yeah… But at least they weren’t adding salt to their beer.

Powers wants to slam bankers for having a three martini lunch, well at least he’s paying for his own lunch. These people work for us.

Kini on September 26, 2010 at 10:33 PM

And if he’s caught in a situation that gets him fired… I’m not defending his drinking either.

BTW… As strongly as she asserts the ‘bankers drinking lunch’ thing… makes me wonder if she drinks her lunch in the same places as the bankers do…?

What’s always baffled me is how liberals can be so lenient with individual violations of the rules, while the same liberals are busily implementing more rules, harsher penalties, and wider restrictions.

I think it has something to do with their belief that individuals can not be held accountable for their actions.

hawksruleva on September 27, 2010 at 12:21 AM

I worked on a Chrysler engine line in Michigan during the summer of ’77. I was a 19 year old girl, paying my way through college. The money was great. The work was easy. I QUIT AFTER JUST 1 WEEK! Many of the guys on the line were stoned/drunk and kept inviting me to get high in the parking lot during every break. (they get frequent breaks!) I was too afraid to even go into the break room, so I would just stand by my station and hold back my tears. It was a nightmare! Little Miss Powers needs to experience a week like that and then she needs to think about putting herself, or her family, in a vehicle that those clowns produced. After college, I bought a Datsun – it was “keyed” – someone ran their key along the entire side of it. I don’t have anything nice to say about the UAW or the creepy mentality it has created. And I certainly don’t have anything nice to say about the foolish Miss Powers.

redwhiteblue on September 27, 2010 at 12:22 AM

They should be fired, no?

hawkdriver on September 27, 2010 at 12:03 AM

First, there should be an end to union double standards.

A Walmart worker and Wall Street Banker would have been canned, fired, dismissed, thrown out on the street for demonstrating such recklessness during work hours. They are returning to work inebriated.

I’m reminded about driving while drunk. They are an accident waiting to happen.

Second, make them do a drug and alcohol test.

There cannot, and should not, be one set of rules for unions and another for us slubs trying to make a living.

It’s not fair that our tax dollars are going to pay for their pensions and health care, while we have to live withing the rules, and they don’t.

A three martini banker can always take a cab back to the office. These guys are working with other, that could get hurt, or even, killed.

hawkdriver on September 27, 2010 at 12:33 AM

Many years ago I used to have a job where we had a half-hour lunch. We routinely had 3 or 4 beers and 2 joints for lunch. The boss pretended not to notice, but one day I realized that if I cut off my finger or my hand on the table saw the people in the emergency room would not pretend they didn’t notice. I left the job because it was easier than backing out on my lunch buddies.

They chose to hang together. They got themselves fired.

Liberals never carry their thoughts to their logical conclusions. And they usually consider themselves to be the elite, and thus immune to any ramifications of the policies that they put forth. For both of these reasons, liberals should never be allowed to hold political office.

I won’t either, and not only because of this. Furthermore, Fords are built by the UAW too, and I am hesitant to do business with Ford because of that.

At this time in our country’s history, I see breaking the union movement both private and government as critical to our survival as a nation. That comes before propping up our balance of trade.

Proud owner of a Honda CRV.

If the UAW, SEIU, AFL-CIO, and other Public Unions would learn to live within their mean, like the rest of America, then there wouldn’t be any of this hostility against them.

Instead, they practice the axiom of biting off more than they can chew. At the American consumers and taxpayers expense. The union bosses laugh and continue to suck at the teet of the American taxpayers. Supported by their elected democrats that bow like Obama does to international terrorists.

Unions, like the once that Powers would defend, pervert the American Capitalist system of fair work and justice. They are destroying their markets, destroying their future.

They are pricing themselves out of a job. They are threatening, with the help of Obama, to swindle the private sector employees of their 401(K)’s and IRA’s.

Drunks, drug addicts, and crooks. This country is being run by the worst of all gangsters. Democrats.

The UAW has produced a frighteningly dangerous mentality. The class warfare mentality and nonsense that Kristin Powers babbles about are perfect examples of the mindset of Liberals. They are greedy, envious, and bitter. My grandfather helped start the UAW in the 1930s. When I took my damaged Datsun to him in 1977, he helped me buff out the scratches and taught me how to change the oil and other maintenance stuff. He said it was a “great little car” – this was a man who had spent his life building American cars! He told me that the UAW had become a “monster” and it wasn’t anything like what he had originally been a part of. I remember that he talked about how the 30-and-out plan would destroy the auto industry – and America. He was right. All anyone has to do is look at Detroit and the surrounding areas. Facts are stubborn things.

slickwillie2001 on September 27, 2010 at 12:58 AM

That is the most profound and accurate statement on this thread yet.

Because the Unions are too aligned with Communism, and the unions think the American people are just too stupid to realize their economic demise, will be under Obamacare.

Expect the Marxist Democrats Talking Heads, to use the last 8 years to justify their claims of an Obama inheritance of an economy already destroyed. What was the unemployment rate then? Why did Gas/Oil suddenly rise in 2006?

Yet, the pictures and statistic‘s, prove over and over again, that we are being lied to by the Democrats.

Democrats are pretty good at Rewriting History.

When our tax dollars are going to pay for Union Pensions and Health Care, then we the are owners of their property.

It’s time to take that property back.

Someone tell KP that gov’t underwriting goofy mortgages had nothing with stoned guys on Wall Street. Maybe we need random drug and alcohol tests in DC!

Some genius there should have pointed out that the Wall Street types are employed at will and few coworkers get crushed with the papers they are tossing around. Further, the meltdown had nothing to do with wheels falling off mortgages at 60.

IlikedAUH2O on September 27, 2010 at 7:43 AM

Most companies have a zero tolerence policy when it comes to drugs and alcohol. Factory workers probably sign an acknowlegement of that policy when they hire on. I do not know if Wall Street has such a policy.

The workers won’t be fired. It is considered an illness now, and they will get one more chance after undergoing therapy. If they are caught a second time, then they can be terminated. I’ve been through this as a supervisor a couple of times. My people were on the road driving instead of in a factory building cars. Just as bad.

KP is off the rails.

The autoworkers drinking lunch video goes a long way towards explaining why my Jeep turned out to be a Jip®

Someone needs to start a ‘No Union’ movement. Take a pledge to not shop at union stores, to not buy union cars or any other goods made by a union, to not use the services of any company that is unionized, etc. Step one, -a database of who is and who isn’t.

Unfortunately we have no choice in dealing with our own government ‘workers’.

Great, all KP has to do is produce a video of a wall street exec face down in a pile of nose candy. And no, the two Stone Wall Streeet movies are not factual videos.

Not much more to say but with this type of thinking we will forever be hurt by such activity as you can always find someone else who did the same type of thing and focus on them. We are screwed. I see it from all parts of the political spectrum.

Ok, given my druthers; if I have to try one drunk/stoned.

I’m going to pick a calculator over a welder for my occupational hazard. KP doesn’t seem to get that part of the problem is having these guys drunk/stoned is really dangerous for them and all the other workers.

I’ve never read of an issue where a drunk banker got 4 of his co-workers hospitalized in an industrial accident.

If I had to live and work in Detroit I’d probably be doing the same thing on my lunch hour…

MestizoMaverick on September 27, 2010 at 1:04 PM

ted c on September 26, 2010 at 9:58 PM

Heck, it’s probably going on INSIDE the White House knowing this administration!

It is not like they are building anything important.

AshleyTKing on September 27, 2010 at 1:00 AM

The Jeep Cherokee is the best they have to offer..Anything else made by Chrysler is junk..:)

Sorry about the sarc. I meant, Jesus man, those are cars you are building. You know, the vehicles I drive my kids in.

One of the many reasons I dislike Sean Vanity. It pains me so that Mark Levin is so close with him. Kirsten Powers is right; admit it.
