Loretta Sanchez on Univision: The Vietnamese are trying to take my House seat
posted at 9:10 pm on September 22, 2010 by Allahpundit
Via Breitbart, she of course means “our House seat.” I’m honestly curious: Does she talk this way in front of English-speaking audiences too, counting on her Absolute Moral Authority as a Democrat to shield her from criticism for racializing things with Van Tran, or is this something she saves for when — she thinks — big media isn’t listening? And another question: Did Univision challenge her when she said it or is this acceptable politicking there?
DoublePlusUndead points to a poll from last month showing the race between her and Tran within two thin points. Some press attention to this clip tomorrow could tip it. Think they’ll come through?
Update: Looks like it was the OC Weekly, a paper in Sanchez’s own district, that first broke this on Monday. Nice to see some press willing to cover it.

Is this the one who beat Bob Dornan with a handful of questionable votes?

What struck me most about this video, as a fluent Spanish speaker, was that her Spanish was very stilted. I wonder how fluent he really is? She seemed to be searching for the right word at one point.
Did anyone else pick up on that?

Sanchez is an idiot who won her seat initially via illegal votes. I’m sure she thought her race-baiting comments were safely hidden because she was speaking in Spanish.
Oh, and Univision is a bunch of Leftards, too.

Since Van Tran has an “R” next to his name, he can safely be considered an Uncle Tran, and therefore race baiting is ok.

Archor Jorge Ramos did not challenged her assertion or said anything about the race-baiting. His favorite topic is amnesty, so he immediately asked her why does she expect Hispanics to go out and vote for democrats if they didn’t push for it when they have full control of congress.

This witch..with a capital ‘B’ is my congresscritter. Yes, she won her seat with fraudulent votes. Dornan had the data and records to show that the total of illegal votes garnered by her support groups was larger than the margin of victory (as I recall, she’s had the seat for a few elections now) but the GOP didn’t want to rock the boat.
As ever, I will happily vote for Tran.

This isn’t the only skeleton in this woman’s closet, IIRC.
She also walked away from a mortgage on a house in Sacramento which, by itself, isn’t a huge deal. The fact that the house was supposed to be paid for with her per-diem money as a Cali state legislator IS a big deal, though.
teke184 on September 22, 2010 at 9:31 PM
Allahpundit,
I had to watch it twice because her Spanish sounds so twisted (meaning, she doesn’t have her “Univisión neutral accent”. So it tricked me at first if she was Venezuelan or Mexican, but indeed she is.
Q1-Does she talk this way in front of English-speaking audiences too, counting on her Absolute Moral Authority as a Democrat to shield her from criticism for racializing things with Van Tran, or is this something she saves for when — she thinks — big media isn’t listening? I doubt it. She’s “Americanizing” herself. Don’t know anything about her, nor care. The fact that I am Latina does not mean I must or should support illegal immigration. That is ab-so-lute-ly back asswards. That seat shall not be used to promote or help illegal immigrants. If she’s doing so, she is violating Federal law. Period.
Q2- And another question: Did Univision challenge her when she said it or is this acceptable politicking there?Univisión is and has always been pro-illegal immigration; I got sick of watching it; one: Because there are so many Mexican news and ads I can tolerate; two: Because they spend 1/3 of the whole hour on this damn thing. I don’t think that they are hardball people; they save that stuff for government leaders or presidents and even then it doesn’t sound that significant or controversial.

Loretta is a classic opportunist politician. She ran a few unsuccessful campaigns fro city council, congress under her married name Loretta Brixey and as a republican, she lost everyone of them.
Then a light went on, she changed back to her madden name Sanchez, starts speaking with a Spanish accent and changes to a Democrat! Bing! She wins!

Speaking it is way out of my league even tho I’ve been told if you hang out with Brazilians, you get it quick. I guess from Spanish to Portugese is not a big jump. Spanish is a very smooth and beautiful sound?
I think that depends on what dialect and accent you are using. Classic Spanish with a Castilian accent can be very pretty and romantic at times. But some variations of “Trade Winds” Spanish can sound like machine gun, very fast and frenetic. I don’t find those accents or dialects to be very romantic sounding in general.
If you want romantic sounding then speak classic French. It “is like wiping your arse with silk” as mentioned in the Matrix Reloaded.

Haha, that’s pretty bad. However, you can not top the woman who said this during the 1992 riots : “If you call it a riot it sounds like it was just a bunch of crazy people who went out and did bad things for no reason. I maintain it was somewhat understandable, if not acceptable.” Her pet issue remains that the CIA introduced crack to the ghetto. And of course, she’s corrupt as hell.

But according to the FEC.gov website, Van Tran is going to need some financial help. As of 6/30/10,
Van Tran’s Cash on Hand = $287,551
Loretta Sanchez’s Cash on Hand = $1,267,685

…come now…one can generally count on this sort of racial atomizing getting the “dog bites man” from the establisment press….
…it’s a long-established tactic by politicians in general, and collectivist politicians in general, to balkanize the overall population — even in a market as small as an urban congressional district — dividing citizens from one another into “demographics”…by age and gender “national origin”, as well as by the many designer colors on offer…they’d even try to divide neighbors from one another by “creed”, if anyone actually knew what that was supposed to mean….
…look at Marx…he even assigns moral catagories by ones place in the economic pecking order…the less in control of your future you are, the more moral you are…the solution being NOT to see that you get more economic and personal sovereignty, but to impose HIS version of authoritarianism over you…tyranny the heart of an accountant….
…after all, people are at their most gullible when the herd’s been cut down and they see themselves as part of a group with interests impinged upon by some other group…the Tutsis and the Hutus aren’t anything new in history, in other words…and for the politician, such a situation is a target-rich environment…all they have to do is either to espouse the interests of the most likely (read: clueless) “demographic”, or (in grudge-politics’ most sinister incarnation) be one of the group being “worked”, and lead them down the garden path…at the behest of the “greater good” (read: party)….
…ever hear a pol appealing to every listener regardless of grievance, as a collection of citizens, and you’re listening either to a novice or to a true-believer…somebody who, howver flawed his or her beliefs and ideas, at least actually believes what he or she is saying…heady stuff….
…besides, if the last four decades have taught us anything (and Obama’s victory indicates that it hasn’t), it’s that “minorities” can get away with the sorts of behavior they themselves condemn in the “dominant culture”, so long as it’s in their own communities and especially if it’s in another language….
…oh…and I didn’t hear her say “my seat”…I heard her say “this seat”, although the overall point of her seeming to think that the seat is a sinecure of the Hispanic community is preserved….
Puritan1648 on September 22, 2010 at 10:08 PM

Yep, B1 got screwed. Loretta won by preaching identity politics, (She herself was a former Republican). But the grass is greener in Orange County when you pander to the rapidly growing Hispanic population by calling the white people like B1, aka Patriotic Americans, racist.
While B1 was saving the country, Loretta, the race baiter, was doing then what she is doing now, race baiting, but beating up on white guys only has so much mileage. Its whities an Asians in shallow Loretta’s world
swamp_yankee on September 22, 2010 at 10:20 PM
I lived for many years in Sanchez’s district, which is on the border of Little Saigon. There is no single ethnic majority but large populations of Hispanics and Asians. Trust me, this was a blatant anti-Asian manipulation of her Hispanic constituency. She probably just insured a large Asian turnout in a year when the Democrats are uninspired in general.
Van Tran is an appealing candidate and her first serious challenge since she beat Bob Dornan by 979 votes in 1996. Tran is well known for serving his community ably in Sacramento and locally.
When Sanchez, a former Republican, first ran against Bob Dornan, she used her then married surname, Brixley, and lost. Two years later, she returned as Loretta Sanchez and won. She ignores her constituents until election time and then plays the Hispanic card.

Van Tran is anti-immigrant and anti-Hispanic/anti-Latino?
How does she arrive at that?
She is trying to drumb up hatred against him in an ethnocentric war that she is declaring. Based on Loretta Sanchez’s diarrhea of the mouth it would’nt surprise me if Van Tran were a gazillion times more intelligent, and has a better attitude than she.
She does not have to prove a thing. All she has to do is toss enough excrement at the wall and hope it sticks, ignorgint the fact that Tran is of Vietnamese ancestry.
So now we have racist blacks and racist Hispanics-Latinos using racism, race baiting, race mongering, bigotry, and racial hatred to score points with their Klan, so they can hold onto political power.
“The Klan with the Tan” as Professor, Dr. Walter Williams calls some of them.
Asians-Orientals are the targets of reverse discrimination, are NOT included when blacks and Hispanics use the word “minorities” to try for government largess, goodies, preferential treatment, and free passes, and Asians-Orientals have been and are frequently discriminated against in College entrance consideration and other areas.
Entertainment thugs of the so called “preferred minorities” get away with racist attacks against Asians-Orientals more often than a clock ticks while the second hand moves, mocking and trashing Asians-Orientals, as blacks and Hispanics do against Caucasians, yet blacks and Hispanics get a big free pass in doing so.
If blacks and Hispanics want to see racism, it is the speck in their own eye. Their voluminous vomitting of racist diatribes is nauseating.
Please, go look in the mirror, and end your racist diatribes.
In that video clip Loretta Sanchez is seething to overflowing with racism and hatred. What a vicious person!
Now, maybe Loretta Sanchez will go away.
