Jimmy Carter: I’m, like, the best ex-president ever

posted at 9:52 pm on September 20, 2010 by Allahpundit

Look at it this way: Has any ex-president caused as many problems for the Democratic leadership as this tool has? In that sense, he is kind of the best ex-president ever, isn’t he? And apparently the most egotistical too.

Until 2013, that is. High hopes, Barry!

Well, looking at it from Jimmah’s eyes, he used to be the biggest suck, and now that Obama’s in town—he sure do look good in comparison….

who can disagree?/

ted c on September 20, 2010 at 9:54 PM

I’ll say one thing– Carter will be the worst golfing ex-president. Even in 2013.

Maybe.

Nethicus on September 20, 2010 at 9:55 PM

He knows he’s the worst, and he’s been tormented by that fact since November 1980. Well, now he’s second-worst.

ddrintn on September 20, 2010 at 9:55 PM

Until 2013, that is. High hopes, Barry!

Wait are you suggesting that Obama won’t get re-elected? That’s so, um, optimistic of you! What happened!

terryannonline on September 20, 2010 at 9:55 PM

He is the most superior ex-president since he has been doing it for the longest time.

Sometimes when someone says, “I’m the best,” it’s because they are the most insecure. Of course, sometimes it just means they have a giant ego.

The democrats, the media, the established, they just don’t get it; just don’t have a clue about how angry the peasants really are. They look out over the masses, the ocean of little people, and they just don’t get it, it’s beyond their imagination.

If out in 2013, Obama will be the youngest ex-President since Roosevelt; if (shudder) re-elected, Clinton will take second by a year.

A. It sounds like Williams is already referring to Obama as a former president in that clip.

B. He’s pointing out to Jimmy with Jimmt sitting right there that his being off to himself is a metaphor for being an oddball.

Williams should have sung a little song for Jimmy: “One of these things is not like the others…”

The fine people of the South have faced enough degradation in the years since we lost the War of Northern Aggression. But this tool refines the embarrassment of being on the losing side until it is a device for torture. If only he came from New York–but he cannot for he despises God’s Chosen People and would never live among them. Peel back another layer and you will find even more of this idiot’s pronouncements to relegate to the trash heap of history. He’s a sad, delusional little man with trailer trash progeny. He is the South’s best and worst joke.

Never have I seen a man more disconnected from reality.

The Rock on September 21, 2010 at 12:33 AM

Utterly delusional. He sucked as President and hasn’t been much better since. The only thing halfway worthwhile he has ever done was to promote Habitat for Humanity, and that’s hardly worth bragging about. Carter’s role is to show up in his limo with entourage and Secret Service, don a carpenter’s belt, and have his picture taken hammering a few nails, usually in a place there is no reason to put a nail. Then he shakes a few hands and poses for a few more photos unless he is running late (15 minutes is the limit), then back in the limo and off he goes.
`
`
Now, HfH was a compassionate idea, but it’s no success story. Despite giving people a discount house (they pay for the materials only, no labor cost, and it’s all financed), discount financing and insurance, and other assistance, the default rate is still more than five times higher than the average.

I can understand how this might’ve been meant, and how it might be true in the following sense: He’s certainly done the most, so in terms of quantity, his actions — or rather their number — must be superior. The quality, of course is another matter. (And he didn’t really say “ever”; I’m not sure how the quantity of his post-presidential “service” would compare with J.Q. Adams and Taft, for example.)

However, it is a perfect answer to the question he was asked, however unintended. “Why did you seem ostracized in the most public social occasion to which you were invited least year?” “Because I was superior!”
