Video: Chris Matthews reveals “tough, watertight” plan to get America back on track
posted at 9:44 pm on September 3, 2010 by Allahpundit
Via Newsbusters. I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but Mike Bloomberg and “communications pizazz” both figure prominently.
Is Bob Gates, of all people, really one of the weak links in this administration? Bob Gates?

“Bold and credible” You betcha.
Skandia Recluse on September 3, 2010 at 9:49 PM
Here’s my plan: “Get the hell out of my way.”
Matthews doesn’t get it. It’s not about stars it’s about WE THE PEOPLE!
Mojave Mark on September 3, 2010 at 9:49 PM
soooo is this an admission that his “team” has been a failure so far? seems so.
Ampersand on September 3, 2010 at 9:50 PM
A video with Matthews and Duh Won? That’s like a double RickRoll.
Gag.
GnuBreed on September 3, 2010 at 9:50 PM
Where do you start on this one?
“James Baker made President Reagan successful?”
And it goes downhill from there…
Unbelievable.
Is anyone watching ‘Tard Ball besides HA readers?
Jenfidel on September 3, 2010 at 9:51 PM
If all the boys and girls out there could just clap their hands and say they believe in faeries, I just know this economy would come back to life!
Please boys and girls, clap! clap! clap!
29Victor on September 3, 2010 at 9:52 PM
I stopped listening once Tingles said that James Baker “made Reagan a success.” Even James Baker doesn’t think that James Baker made Reagan a success. Bush the Elder, maybe.
Tingles ought to know that: he held the whiskey and the puke bucket for Tip O’Neill during that era.

Did Hillary get some work done on her face?
carbon_footprint on September 3, 2010 at 9:53 PM
MichelleMyBelle can’t stand Hillary. She ain’t getting close to his “inner circle”. And enough how debonair and suave he is, Tingles.
Marcus on September 3, 2010 at 9:53 PM
oh my God…this is a cry for help! will no one reach out to this man and help him??
Mathews needs YEARS of therapy!
Justrand on September 3, 2010 at 9:55 PM
First of all, I could not understand a word Matthews said. He is a rambling fool.
Secondly: I also noticed the Hillary “makeover”. She must have a boyfriend or “sumpin”.
Nelsa on September 3, 2010 at 9:56 PM
It’s the same old crap-get someone with “communications pizzazz” in there, and the message about teh wons great policy achievements will filter down to us peons.
It couldn’t possibly be that his policies suck. No sir.
PetecminMd on September 3, 2010 at 9:58 PM
Good Lord. That’s pathetic. More Greek columns!!
Hillary Clinton looks like Albert Einstein with that hair.
PattyJ on September 3, 2010 at 9:59 PM
So who would take over State if Hillary goes to Defense? Wait, did he say Bloomberg to Treasury?
Matthews is reading the teleprompter better than Obama does. Matthews for president!

Dr Evil on September 3, 2010 at 10:03 PM
Unfortunately, given the seriousness and advanced state of his rapidly deteriorating mental condition even I, the world’s greatest psychoanalyst living or dead, can not help him. The most human thing you can do for Mr. Matthews, and his audience, is to call in Dr. Kevorkian.

Thanks for the ‘good news!’. I’ve been waiting for this.
AUINSC on September 3, 2010 at 10:09 PM
So Chris “leaky depends” Matthews wants
1. Bloomberg = The guy who wants to expand his business in the middle-east and put up a mosque over the graves of 9-11 victims , to control Hussain’s money distribution system
2. Hillary = The woman who never found a muslim cause anywhere in the world, which she didn’t fund with US taxpayer money, to control Hussain’s defence policy
What could go wrong ?
macncheez on September 3, 2010 at 10:11 PM
Heh, Bloomberg has two things bigger than Obama:
1. Ego
2. Purse
Dream on wet pants man.
Schadenfreude on September 3, 2010 at 10:11 PM
Let me phinish…
Bloomberg…. bwahhahahaha!
If this part of the left, which thinks Obama is not left enough, and I really don’t know how much more left, you can go.
It’s good to know what the other networks are saying anyway.
Six of them and one of us. We really need to rock the house.
Kini on September 3, 2010 at 10:12 PM
Embarrassing. Both suggestions are simply embarrassing.
ncjetsfan on September 3, 2010 at 10:12 PM
Well to be fair Hillary is a combat vet of Bosnia. She came under sniper fire I hear.
And Bloomberg is an expert in Sharia finance.

I’m confused – is Matthews doing the Friday night dump? Unleashing the lead balloon? Huh?
Maybe they’re saving the juice for Monday?
seesalrun on September 3, 2010 at 10:23 PM
I haven’t had nearly enough Jameson yet to properly articulate my thoughts on his suggestions, but this I can tell you, my friends:
Go fuc* yourself Matthews, you pathetic twit.

How were you able to get a SNL skit in full, on a Friday?
JeffinOrlando on September 3, 2010 at 10:27 PM
I dunno Bloomberg probably wouldn’t be too bad of a pick. (Lets face it, the people Obama would actually choose go downhill from even the salt czar.) This pick could help out NYC a little bit.
clement on September 3, 2010 at 10:28 PM
“Let Me Finish”… Okay Chrissy, you’re finished. Now shut up and go home. Hillary? That’s your answer?… And don’t come back… stupid.

I’m breathless waiting for the paramedics. I’d promised my wife I’d not not read this sort of twaddle but she’s out of town and I slipped. They’re at the door. I’ll check in tomorrow. I hope.

OMG! Mattews has really flipped this time. Where are the loonie bins when you need them?
Hobbes on September 3, 2010 at 10:41 PM
This would actually work, however…
This would mean that Obama would have to accept the fact that he is no longer Emperor. His power would be shared by others, and controlled from behind the scenes.
It would also signal that he failed.
Maybe this is why he has been looking so sickly lately and taking so many vacations.
faraway on September 3, 2010 at 10:44 PM
Why can’t Chris Matthews pronounce America?
Our country isn’t called Um-err-kuh.
tetriskid on September 3, 2010 at 10:47 PM
Matthews:
While we’re at it, we should elect someone with no executive experience (or much of anything for that matter) to lead the nation.
Well, one out of two isn’t bad.
scotash on September 3, 2010 at 10:48 PM
Does anyone else remember the days when Chrissie just hated on Hillary every chance he got? And now she’s wunderbar?
Chrissie’s drinkin’ is makin’ his thinkin’ stinkin’.
tigerlily on September 3, 2010 at 10:53 PM
What is that stench?
Oh, it’s desperation.
Vashta.Nerada on September 3, 2010 at 10:54 PM
Obama’s cabinet has no experience in business and we can see what that has brought us.
Now Tingles suggests we double down with someone who has no experience in national defense!
How Low Will It Go?
CA_Conservative on September 3, 2010 at 10:57 PM
Maybe I’m in a weird mood, but I just couldn’t help but laugh at his desperation. I should do some volunteer work tomorrow or something, I feel guilty.
Norbitz on September 3, 2010 at 11:02 PM
That was more fun than reading about Levi Johnson’s favorability rating.
Yep, Israel needs to know they have a friend highly placed in the Obama administration like Hillary Clinton as Secretary of Defense. Obviously, she’s not doing them any good in her minor functionary role as … Secretary of State.
I forget, is Chris Matthews supposed to be smart?
didymus on September 3, 2010 at 11:03 PM

matthews is out of his mind. Most liberals, including some in my own family, seem horribly out of touch with reality. Sometimes I feel like I’m living in the beginning of a zombie movie. The disease is still in it’s early stages and will only get worse.
peacenprosperity on September 3, 2010 at 11:16 PM
Bet thing Chrissy could say is “Don’t listen to me, I’m an idiot!”

I love this…go Chris…i’m sure than the San Francisco salons are buzzing with his brillance
r keller on September 3, 2010 at 11:22 PM
The liberals really want Brzezinski for Sec Def and Tingles is afraid to mention it. I don’t really think they care if it is Zbigniew or Mika though…
Dawnsblood on September 3, 2010 at 11:23 PM
Yeah, wow, that was funny. But he was serious, wasn’t he?
Was he serious? Wait, this is the Onion, right? No, it can’t be.
How can somebody who is paid so much be so dumb?
Send in the clowns. Time for the clowns.

Dudes…DUDES!!! This means Baghdad Bobby Fibbs stays on as Press Secretary.
EPIC.
Christien on September 3, 2010 at 11:29 PM
Matthews doesn’t analyse facts, he just projects his own biases as factual.
Hummer53 on September 3, 2010 at 11:38 PM
Mathews should just go straight into stand up comedy. Look how much we’re laughing at him.
Metro on September 3, 2010 at 11:38 PM
Hillary has Israel’s best interests at heart…like kissing up to Mrs Arafat? I’m sure they feel really comfortable with that.
jackmac on September 3, 2010 at 11:45 PM
Don’t bother. They’re here.
Lily on September 3, 2010 at 11:50 PM
No, I don’t think so. She has a new hairstyle and has lightened her hair – the new buttery blonde lightens her face. I think she looks better and it does make one think she has had some work done.
ramrants on September 3, 2010 at 11:53 PM
Oh, great Bloomberg!! Federal salt and trans fat tax!!
Caper29 on September 4, 2010 at 12:06 AM
I suppose this makes sense since all things Democrat have done such a bang up job, no pun intended, with the economy.
Hilldog would forge confidence in Middle East policy as SECDEF in exactly what way that she hasn’t as the frickin Secretary of State? Isn’t getting “the deal cooked” in the Middle East, in fact, not getting the Middle East cooked? Did this guy even read these statements before spouting them on air?
Everything Mr. Tingles wants Hillary to do as SECDEF sounds just like the stuff she should be doing now as SecSTATE. Right?
So we elected Obama to give him a two-year “shakedown cruise”?
If we could monetize Matthews’ idiocy, we immediately make our nation financially solvent for the next millennium.
catmman on September 4, 2010 at 12:19 AM
What is it with people who think that changing administrators, functionaries, rhetoric, “messages,” advertising, and communication will somehow make a bad idea work?
It’s the core idea that has failed, over and over and over again.
They won’t do anything about that, because it’s the core of their political identity.
Which is why we have to vote them out and get to work removing the bad ideas.
I am so tired.
Merovign on September 4, 2010 at 12:30 AM
Wow. Insane. make defense tougher with Hillary? Then Bloomberg at treasury? Has this idiot paid no attention to the public at all? I just wonder is this some nutty thing Matthews cooked up himself or did Hillary and Bloomberg actually have him float it?
Rocks on September 4, 2010 at 12:46 AM
Um, so who does Chrissy think should replace Hillary at State? Kind of weird how he thinks it is less important than Defense since lefties have been whining about diplomacy not being important under Bush.
Speedwagon82 on September 4, 2010 at 12:47 AM
LOL.
The Obama PHALANX !!!!
Why, oh, why didn’t we think of this before …………….

Mike can’t ever seem to let go of his own personal megacauses.
“As Treasury Secretary, my first acts of office will be to ban the private ownership of firearms in the United States, and to use all the power of the US Treasury to eliminate salt from the American diet…”
eeyore on September 4, 2010 at 12:53 AM
Why am I getting the feeling that Chris Matthews videos are Allah’s way of yelling “No wire hangers… EVER”?
VekTor on September 4, 2010 at 1:03 AM
She OBVIOUSLY uses some form of cosmetic-works on her face prior to some media appearances just as she did in the 2008 Presidential debates. She’d show up on stage (and still does) looking like she’d had a face lift, then we’d see her the next morning leaving the lodging looking like her face had again fallen back to what it was before the appearance the night/day before.
So whatever this is she’s using, it’s some sort of “pull up” and “pull back” of her face overall for limited display purposes with a rather “waxing over” look to her skin overall. I can barely imagine what it is but she’s certainly using something cosmetic as to procedure to look “redone” for limited appearances.
Lourdes on September 4, 2010 at 1:06 AM
Of all people, Oprah once blurted out how she had her face pulled up and back by something like a nylon stocking before her shows, then she’d don a wig to cover it up atop her head.
Might be what Hillary is doing, and thus, the hair changes, too (wigs).
Lourdes on September 4, 2010 at 1:08 AM
Never a good thing when you’re talking Hillary.
Perhaps a full Islamic head covering with a shade for the eyes would be best.
Better than what?
Hillary the hag needs to shut up and sit down for the rest of her life.

Nice!
I’m just surprised that he said “President Reagan” and “successful” in the same sentence.
His ramble is that of a drunk fan in a sports bar or a 10 year old kid talking about how if his team just got the players he wanted, the team would be unbeatable. Sad and pathetic.
