The Ed Morrissey Show, live from the State Fair!

posted at 9:00 am on September 1, 2010 by Ed Morrissey

The Ed Morrissey Show continues its special Minnesota State Fair editions today, going two hours from 10-noon ET/9-11 CT live from Dan Patch Avenue at the Great Minnesota Get-Together!  We have a great lineup of guests for the show today. We start today with Lee Byberg, running for Congress in MN-07, challenging longtime incumbent Colin Peterson.  Next, we’ll chat with Bill Gilles from the University of Minnesota organization CFACT, who will discuss the Blue-Green Bus Tour and what it means.  Sanu Patel-Zellinger joins us to discuss her race for the Minnesota House in Bloomington.

In the second hour, Twin Cities Marriage Encounter executive director Mary Jackson will talk to us about the difficulties facing non-profits in tough times, and how listeners can help with an effort to win a grant from the Pepsi Refresh Project.  (I serve as board president, along with my wife, of Twin Cities Marriage Encounter, a strictly voluntary and unpaid position.)  Michael Sachse of OPOWER will then describe how their free-market project gets voluntary energy conservation to work in Minnesota.  Finally, we wrap up today’s State Fair edition with Independence Party gubernatorial candidate Tom Horner, joining us for a brief conversation.

If you’re in the Twin Cities, the show will broadcast over AM 1280 The Patriot.  If not, we’ll stream it live through Hot Air, with video and chat, on the permanent TEMS page.

You going to meet up with James Lileks for anything? State Fair is his turf, too.

The one drawback to all of this TEMS-from-the-fair stuff has been to remind me just how late in the year South Carolina’s fair is. Seriously, like 6 more weeks until the awesome fair in Columbia.

Meet me at the rocket!

Totally jealous that you will have access to corn dogs, funnel cakes, and deep fried twinkies. Enjoy yourself.
