Quotes of the day

“We are going to take on the barbarism of war, the decadence of racism, and the scourge of poverty, that the Ku Klux — I meant to say the Tea Party,” Fauntroy told a news conference today at the National Press Club. “You all forgive me, but I — you have to use them interchangeably.”
Fauntroy attempted to explain the comparison to white supremacists by saying that organizers behind the “Restoring Honor” rally are the same people who cut audio cables from a sound system the night before the historic March on Washington and the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech at the Lincoln Memorial.

It is a measure of the corruption of liberal thought and the collapse of its self-confidence that, finding itself so widely repudiated, it resorts reflexively to the cheapest race-baiting (in a colorful variety of forms). Indeed, how can one reason with a nation of pitchfork-wielding mobs brimming with “antipathy toward people who aren’t like them” — blacks, Hispanics, gays and Muslims — a nation that is, as Michelle Obama once put it succinctly, “just downright mean”?
The Democrats are going to get beaten badly in November. Not just because the economy is ailing. And not just because Obama over-read his mandate in governing too far left. But because a comeuppance is due the arrogant elites whose undisguised contempt for the great unwashed prevents them from conceding a modicum of serious thought to those who dare oppose them.
***
Yes, he’s trying, as Moynihan memorably put it, to learn history and teach it at the same time. But so what? Like the dumpy woman with low self-esteem we all dream of, Beck makes up in enthusiasm what he lacks in natural gifts. I like the sense that he’s bringing you his findings as fast as they come in. You get the impression that two weeks ago Beck had never heard of Woodrow Wilson, yet now he has figured out that Woodrow Wilson was one of the most evil people of the 20th century, and he wants to tell everybody. There’s something fun about that, a performance that invites you to help fill in details and fix errors. It’s certainly something you don’t see anywhere else on TV, a medium populated almost entirely by people who are more cocksure about everything than I am about anything.
And he’s right about Woodrow Wilson.
It’s understandable that you don’t want to lose all your invitations, and the dismissive pose toward Beck stems from a well founded fear my fellow rootless cosmopolitans have — that if we seem too close to the cars-on-cinderblocks, chicken-coops-in-yards, shotguns-and-rockingchairs variety of libertarianism, we will lose the respect of liberaloids in New York and D.C. It’s a real concern, but if the trade-off means you reject the Tea Parties — by far the biggest popular movement with a clear anti-government mood that has occurred in my lifetime – and in exchange you get to be comfortable at table with David Frum, well, that deal sounds like a loser to me.

Fauntroy associating the Tea Party with the KKK is actionable in just the same vein as blaming Jews for the Reichstag fire.
And not shocking because Democrats and Nazis are their respective collective cousins. They share the hate.
Its the excuse needed for the persecution to follow.

Stewart is a coward. I still vividly remember him practically cowering under his desk when he went back on the air after 9/11. How any Jew can support these mosques of hate is beyond me. With Bloomberg it’s easy; follow the money. Just beneath contempt. How long do either of those fools think they’d last in Saudi Arabia ?

The community organizer has issued his call to arms of his Army stronger than the military.
His army of Union thugs, welfare dependents, quilty college professors, and anarchists.
He has been doing so by word,(get in their faces), and deed, (subverting the will of the people in N.Y., in AZ, in CA).
Its’ his play to obtain ultimate power and if my gut feeling is correct he has called down the thunder and soon he will reap the wirlwind.

DrMagnolias on August 28, 2010 at 6:41 AM
You couldn’t equate the Democratic Party with the Nazi Party….
Like pointing out that all the ‘education bailouts’ and car company bailouts go to help the unions. Why that would be creating a Democratic Worker’s Party, which isn’t the Nazi Party.
Of course you can’t point out the centralist tendancies of this administration backed by a Democratic Congress to give centralized control over the economy just as socialists adore. Why that would be creating the Socialist Democratic Worker’s Party, and that is nothing like the Nazi Party.
And if you pointed out they tended to restrict their goals within the Nation so as to pull down existing societal structures so that government would have say of equality of ends via ‘positive rights’, then you be able to use the ample bills for same and the changes in the regulatory structure to step beyond the bounds of limited government to get these things done. Why that would be creating a National Socialist Democratic Worker’s Party and that’s…
Hey!
Wait a second… the NSDAP? That is the Nazi Party.
By their actions you shall know them.

Just got back from dropping off the parents at the Vienna Metro Station. Wow! I pretty pretty surprised. Traffic was backed up on I-66 for a good mile and long lines stretched around the Metro parking lot at 7:20am. If this is any indicator of the turn out – this rally could be really huge.

I went and checked. You’re right. A lot of people are suddenly leaving bad reviews since “Aug 27, 2010″ taking Google to task, so I left one myself. This stunt on Google’s part was indeed childish and unprofessional; they’ve let their own political views taint the accuracy of their maps — very dumb thing to do, considering that Google Maps has competition.

Exactly when did Beck have these items on his show? Had too many substances in the salons of the upper east side? Are you hallucinating now? That’s what THEY ASCRIBE to those who don’t follow their neo-communist ideology in an attempt to discredit. They love to personally denegrate the messanger not the message and “read” what they are saying as opposed to hearing what is being said. You often fall into their trap and I expect you to go full Olberman anyday, Allah.

We, with the chicken coops and cars on blocks, don’t want to get that close to the blue blood, country clubbers. We enjoy our lives, with fishin’, huntin’ and worshiping. Quit trying to tell us how to live and how warm we can keep our house and what kind of car to drive and we can all just get along a lot better.

RepubChica on August 28, 2010 at 9:01 AM
The Tim Cavanaugh quote captures the “Beck problem” in a pitch perfect manner, and the semi-intellects running loose in DC these days, so convinced of their own infallibility to start with and now full of fear and resentment (given their obvious failure on every single possible issue), would do well to listen. Of course they won’t- the narrative won’t let them. And November can’t come soon enough…November 2012, that is.

Oh dear, I have a shotgun and a chicken coop (inhabited by chickens and guineas). And I don’t have a car on blocks but fifteen years ago I did live in a trailer with an ’85 Chevy S10 parked out front that was mostly held together with Bondo-O.
Guess I won’t look for my dinner invite anytime soon.
I’m so regretting not going to this rally, but I didn’t think my girls (ages 5 and 7) would have handled such a long trip very well. They’ve been to Tea Parties though–well, I’m sure we’ll have more opportunities to let our voices be heard soon enough.
Best wishes to all those in attendance–our thoughts and prayers are with you!

Beck is waking Americans up to their true history…and they increasingly dismayed at how much re-writing and/or omission of relevant facts there has been.
The Left could say “Not true!”, and engage in a debate about it! Nah…easier to call him names and try to demean him.
The Left is slowly becoming aware of the wave that is coming this November…but remains ignorant of how BIG it will be, and how many of their treasured idols (Grayson, Boxer, Reid, et al) will be swept away by it.
I can’t wait for November…2010 AND 2012!

The millions upon millions of decent people, who haven’t a touch of hatred for blacks or whites and don;t make a living on trying to create it have got to be repulsed by this?
I heard Beck mention that people like MLKjr don;t belong to a particular race in terms of owning the rights to their ideas, and of course he is right. This event is meant to honor the man and his ideas in what he claimed was “his” dream.
So the question is begged, was MLKjr a racist huckster as his disciples Jackson and Sharpton are and his disciples in the NAACP? Or have they taken and twisted the man’s truths in exchange for gold watches and the power to keep some of Black America on the Democratic plantation? Hopefully this event might answer that…..but I doubt it.

Assassinated again for preaching Uncle Tom, right along with political crucifixion targeting every other conservative who happens to be black.
Jesse Jackson USED MLK. Jackson’s reverence is for Black Liberation Theology just like Rev. Wright, keeping the black man down, victimization of their own, blaming whitey.
Just like Obama blaming Bush. Obama’s tongue lashings always implicate himself most clearly. That con job is effective only with ignorant bigots clinging bitterly to their antipathy for those who are different. Particularly when the difference is accuracy on the record.
