Bristol Palin to appear on Dancing With The Stars?
posted at 5:55 pm on August 26, 2010 by Cassy Fiano
Um… OK. Is this some kind of Levi Johnston payback or something? Levi will struggle with some lame reality show that no one watches, while Bristol looks amazing in sparkly skimpy outfits on a show that’s already proven to be ratings gold. Is this her thought process?
We can report to you exclusively that Sarah Palin’s 19-year-old daughter Bristol Palin has been cast on the 11th season of DWTS, set to premiere Sept. 20, according to sources.
As for the reports that David Hasselhoff, Audrina Patridge, The Situation and Brandy will also be part of the cast, here’s the deal:
All true, according to sources.
Of course, since this is just according to “sources”, she might not even be a member of the cast. But if she is… well, I guess it’s good payback. She and Levi were supposedly going to have their own reality show together before Levi soaked up all of the “we’re engaged!” publicity and split. At least she’s on a show that’s a guaranteed hit, while Levi’s show will likely drift off somewhere into TV wasteland. (I hope, anyways.)
Meanwhile, can you just imagine the liberal heads exploding if Bristol does well on the show? Oh, boy. I hope she’s ready for the vitriol that’s sure to be aimed her way. On the other hand… it’ll be worth watching just for the hateful “ZOMG BRISTOL IS WINNING ITS A CONSPIRACY!!!!1!!11!!” commentary alone.

As long as there seems to be an interest in him by the viewers. Bristol dances, Levi flaps his gums and they both get money for magazine interviews.
great gig if you can get it.

Oh noes!!1! Bristol appearing on DWTS surely spells DOOM for Palin’s political career!!1!!! She’s finished, no one will take her seriously now!!!eleventy
/various snobs and concern trolls
Sorry

(stupid phone didn’t let me finish)
Anyway, pillow biters, I am sorry to say I doubt this will negatively affect SP’s career any more than the gajillion other “scandals” have. She’s been declared no longer relevant more times than I can count but she keeps rising. Rest assured this won’t do her in either. In fact, it might have the opposite effect. DWTS is a whesome, family show that gets good ratings. If Bristol is well received it will only reflect well on her mother.
As for Sarah’s appearance o. kate Plus 8, I still don’t know what the BFD is. It was obviously cross promotion for the Alaska show. I fail to see how her doi g it somehow makes her less her own woman. Perhaps she thought it a small price to pay to get her docu series on the air. I mean a conteact usually involves some give and take between the parties righr? This is just a pretty weak criticism of Palin IMO. Besides given that kate had a meltdown fully two hours after deplaning in Alaska, I doubt the show will ever air anyway, so who will ever know about it? I guantee the only people who will arehave probably already decided what they think about Palin anyway.
NoLeftTurn on August 27, 2010 at 12:24 AM
It actually looks like Kate and 8 are supposed to be guests on Palin’s show, not the other way around.
alwaysfiredup on August 27, 2010 at 2:11 AM
The only reality show Levi needs to appear on is “Hunting Alaska with Todd Palin”. He could appear in the series premiere as either the prey, or the bait to draw in a polar bear.
Kevin71 on August 27, 2010 at 2:38 AM
I am starting to think that the Palin’s are natural Enquire front page news.
This kind of “stuff” makes them look like nothing more than media whores. Sorry…. losing respect.
stenwin77 on August 27, 2010 at 5:54 AM
Be careful – Noleftturn will call you a “pillowbiter”
Bradky on August 27, 2010 at 7:13 AM
It’s not the Palins that are the whores. Try blaming the media for latching onto anything and everything they do and blowing it out of proportion … not to mention some right-wingers who don’t seem to like that Palin doesn’t follow a straight and narrow path.
People are so used to starchy, stiff, obfuscating politicians whose primary concern is their own ass that they don’t know quite how to take someone who doesn’t fit that mold.
darwin on August 27, 2010 at 7:48 AM
They may not be “whores” but be realistic. If you sign a contract to do a show the network expects to get viewers otherwise they wouldn’t pay them.
I work on the assumption that Palin is no fool and understands that exposure means good and bad press. Why this seems like such a shocker to some of her fans is puzzling.
If you don’t want the attention or the money don’t go on television. What is so difficult with that concept?
Bradky on August 27, 2010 at 8:07 AM
Nothing, except most people are missing the bigger picture … with Sarah Palin at least. She just did a four part series on Greta’s show about ANWR and Alaskan oil. The TLC show will tie into that. She’s constantly talking about energy independence and the natural resources Alaska has.
What she’s doing isn’t just getting attention, she’s making a concerted effort to dispel the myths promulgated over the years by the eco-marxists about oil, ANWR and Alaska.
darwin on August 27, 2010 at 8:17 AM
That may be her intent but what is TLC’s objective?
Bradky on August 27, 2010 at 8:22 AM
One other thing. While that may be her goal it is fair to point out she is getting paid very well to appear in the show.
Bradky on August 27, 2010 at 8:24 AM
You don’t think she should be?
darwin on August 27, 2010 at 8:26 AM
Seriously? Palin usually equals ratings bonanza. Advertisers probably duke it out in the hallway to get a 30 second spot.
darwin on August 27, 2010 at 8:27 AM
Hassellhoff takes it by a mile with the German vote.
fossten on August 27, 2010 at 8:27 AM
I didn’t say that but saying you are for a cause while you get paid for it does open one up for questions on sincerity. That goes for anyone.
How is TLC advertising this one? Are they advertising as you described “dispel the myths promulgated over the years by the eco-marxists about oil, ANWR and Alaska.” or in another fashion?
Bradky on August 27, 2010 at 8:32 AM
I don’t know. Maybe you could go to ummm, TLC.com to find out? Just a wild guess.
Since they didn’t hire me to write the shows description, I doubt it’s being billed as that, but you never know.
darwin on August 27, 2010 at 8:40 AM
I don’t watch a great deal of television. You made an assertion and I asked a simple question. But thanks for clarifying that is your interpretation of what she is doing.
Bradky on August 27, 2010 at 8:46 AM
No problem. I don’t mind clearing up the fog for people.
darwin on August 27, 2010 at 8:53 AM
Clearly you’re the arbiter around here, and my comments are beyond the pale.
But maybe not among those on respirators? There’s hope for me yet!
I didn’t realize I was making you read my posts. I’ll try to stop that in the future.
Thanks for this informative look into the world of TV. I had no idea this is how things worked.
Yes, Kate has a way of presenting everything in a good light, doesn’t she?
Yes, I’m sure Kate running out of Alaska as fast as she could, really helped show the state in its fully glory. That was pure brilliance.
And I’m sure TLC and Sarah had no idea before agreeing to do this that Kate was such a diva. It must have been a real surprise for all of them.
I am diseased. I should warn you about how infectious it is. Just talking to me online puts you at risk. Didn’t you know that’s why they always say never to feed a troll?
A diseased and tedious person such as myself can’t really be expected to do that, can I?
So appreciate your insights here though. I’ve learned so much about TV this morning.

This will be a rating bonanza for dwts.
SP win, Tea party win, dwts win, GOP win, Bristol win, advertiser win, viewer win.
But I still loves me some Stacey Keebler.

Someone slap this child.
Jaibones on August 27, 2010 at 2:40 PM
I think she’s cute, and I’d like to see her dance. Also, ABC, bring back the commentary segments with Kenny Mayne and Jerry Rice. Good stuff.
Ward Cleaver on August 27, 2010 at 2:47 PM
And the drunken crawling-on-the-floor cheeseburger-eater vote.
Ward Cleaver on August 27, 2010 at 2:49 PM
Although it is indeed fascinating to speculate about what it is Bristol may or may not be thinking in this (latest) bid for publicity, I think the more pertinent inquiry should be why SP is allowing her daughter to diminish her(SP’s) stature with voters. The last thing SP needs is to have her uneducated, unwed teenage mom daughter appear to be pursuing reality show stardom. Which makes me wonder. Is SP the victim of an out of control teen, or does she think all this publicity seeking by Bristol is just fine and dandy? Either way, it doesn’t reflect well on her.
Infidoll on August 27, 2010 at 3:15 PM
Bristol should get back with Levi. He’s addicted to Fame excuse is now lame.
PrezHussein on August 27, 2010 at 3:50 PM
Bristol is pretty, and from the pictures I’ve seen, she has a nice figure. She may or may not have the dancing talent to win, but what the heck … good for her! Like it or not, she has acquired celebrity status … so what if by default? She’s free to use her talents as she sees fit. Fortunately for her she doesn’t live in the middle east where they’d beat and/or stone her for her doing something she regards as fun. So what if she gets paid? Glad she’s American.
bannedbyhuffpo on August 27, 2010 at 4:17 PM
Not Sara’s fault necessarily. Bristol is considered an adult legally. Some of the finest people in all of history have had nincompoop children.
This is coming from someone who doesn’t really want Sara as President.
scotash on August 27, 2010 at 4:18 PM
I didn’t say it was her fault, I said it didn’t reflect well on her. Whether or not you personally agree, there are voters out there who will see Bristol’s publicity whoring as a reflection of, among other things, bad parenting. Bristol is either out of control, or the Palins don’t understand how badly Bristol’s priorities appear to many voters.
Infidoll on August 27, 2010 at 4:54 PM
I’d turn that around: If you’re being paid for it, you’d darn well better be for a cause.
Saying you’re against a cause while you get paid for it (the cause you’re officially against) would be hypocrisy.
Mary in LA on August 27, 2010 at 5:45 PM
Why would her daughter appearing in a dance contest make Sarah look bad????
The only show I would watch Levi on is one where he gets in a boxing ring with Todd or Track Palin and they beat the tar out of him. Come to think of it..that migh be a great fund raising event…..
silvercreeklady on August 27, 2010 at 6:22 PM
Aw, heck, yeah! “Who Wants to B****-Slap Levi Johnson?”
Mary in LA on August 27, 2010 at 7:13 PM
