Cavuto’s prediction: Obama won’t run for a second term
posted at 6:40 pm on August 23, 2010 by Allahpundit
I don’t know why this idea is suddenly in vogue, but Ace wrote about it a few days ago, then Toby Harnden turned out a much-linked piece on it for the Telegraph, now here’s Cavuto making conservative hearts flutter by predicting that O is one and done. I assume it’s Obama’s newly abysmal polling that has people thinking this way, with his aggregate weekly job approval rating reaching a new low in Gallup last week (although his daily rating’s begun to rebound slightly). The idea appeals to me both for obvious reason and because it plays off the media’s meme of what a supposedly successful, accomplished president Obama already is. If he’s already achieved so much, wonders Cavuto, why bother with a second term? But … seriously? The One, turning down another shot at the most powerful job in the world? If there was some sort of “global pope” position he could run for instead, that might tempt him, but I can’t see him hanging up his messiah laurel just to go write books and play 72 holes a day. What his ego needs is a job where he can make law via ipse dixit, handing down pronouncements about the way things should be like Moses descending from Mount Sinai with the tablets. If only there were a job like — hey, wait a minute.

Oh how upset some people will be on Nov. 2, 2010.

Well, Congress didn’t fire the CEO of GM–0bama did.
But he’s done a lot more than that to merit impeachment…
people have started to make lists.
Right at the top would have to be his $20 BILLION shakedown of BP.
I’m not thrilled with Moochelle getting her healthy food program funded either, to the tune of $400 MILLION.

My sentiments, exactly.
What a sweet, sweet night it is going to be, November 02, 2012, when Mr. Yes I Golf gets to admit that he does so very, very badly.

I plan on running around outside with sparklers in both hands yelling The Battle Hymn of The Republic.

Heh. Be sure and videotape it and post it to YouTube. I’m sure it will go right to the top. (Just to make sure, do it in your underwear and tape sparkler to your head and butt. And don’t forget the warning: “This person is a professional. Don’t try this at home.”)

I’m sure he’s got his eye on the position of Secretary-General of the UN, in the future. But I think whether or not he runs for president in 2012 is going to be decided by the Democratic Party, not him.

Anybody who things that Obama is not going to run in 2012 needs to have their head examined.

Cavuto’s 9 months behind. I even put $100 on it with an ultraleftist blogger: http://www.plunderbund.com/2009/11/22/breaking-news-from-wingnut-world-obama-wont-run-for-a-second-term/#comment-23884383 .
Here’s my rationale:
Obama won’t run in 2012 because reality is too hard for him. He no longer is insulated from it by an endless parade of ultraleftists shepherding him inorganically through life. From one protectorate to another. A anti-American relay team passing him as a baton to a Progressive finish line with a complicit Media creating an historic feel-good facade for the disengaged.
This poster child for the confluent apogees of affirmative action and the Peter Principle has now reached the end of his protective tunnel where he is interacting for the first time with people and problems that could care less about his hagiography. His greased skid has finally ended on a gravel road for which he is totally unprepared.
His only concern now is the takeover of health care. That is on what his 40+-year Manchurian Candidate training has been focused. That’s why jobs and Afghanistan are mere talking points– because those things affect other less-worthy beings, not him. As far as he and his puppetmasters are concerned, ruining the economy and taunting the military is just the cherry on the sundae– punishing us for decades of hegemony.
Once this seizure is complete, he will have no other raison d’etre. If successful, he will have no political capital left; in fact, in all likelihood, he will take most of his party down with him. Of course, this is of no consequence to him. He sees himself as a political martyr in this cause. His legacy and the debasing of America’s station in the world are but small prices to pay for the Leviathan’s unfettered control over the lives of hundreds of millions of subjects. No, the reverance with which his name will be uttered in the hallowed halls of leftist elitism– along with those of Marx, FDR, and Castro– will be his reward.
When it’s all said and done, he and his family will be taken care of by his benefactors. Then he will once again never have to sully himself in the milieu of what he and his (your) ideology has wrought.
