FADE IN:
SCENE: Nice serene field with empty hammock between two Fruit trees. Near sunset. Golden hour. Rays of sunlight pass through the trees under the shade. In the background there are two small children playing in the background among fruit trees. Scene is framed slightly left of camera.
Golfer/Artist: Close in: Sits in a lawn chair sipping a tropical fruit drink with an a little cocktail out the top. He’s wearing gulf clothes and has a nine iron propped up against a tree in the backround. Toward the right of the frame, he gazes in the distance, nods, and makes strokes with a piece of chalk to what appears to be a painters canvas with the back edge toward camera. Camera can’t see what’s on it.
Children: Close in: Using a sling shot to shoot birds from the fruit tree. Pile of dead birds lay at their feet. Golpher/Artist: Looks back at children’s mischief and continues sipping his drink. gazes in the distance towards the right, nods again, then makes chalk strokes on the canvas.
CUT :
SCENE: Old Town dusty Horse Ranch. Near Sunset along a fence line with horse in the background. All Framed to right of camera.
Ranch Hand: A young ranch hand, dirty and sweaty, is hammering out a gate hinge for a fence post onto of an old tree stump with a big hammer. Sweat dripping onto his hands and onto the hinge, Dirt and sweat mixing together. he pauses to wipe his brow.
Young Boy: hands the ranch hand a screwdriver.
Ranch Hand: takes it and give the boy a pat on the back and a smile.
CUT:
SCENE: Fruit Trees and lawn chair. Framed from left of camera
Golfer/Artist: Foreground: Still sipping on cocktail Still gazing toward the right and putting chalk strokes on a canvas. not visible to camera.
Kids: Background: Sitting by tree near pile of dead birds playing a PSP.
CUT: to Old women walking with heavy bag of groceries. Struggling walks pass Golpher/Artist
Golfer/Artist: leans foward and looks towards left. notices old women walking by. Looks over at children behind him playing PSP and motions them to help the old women. With a rapid snap of his head.
Children: momentarily look over at Golfer/Artist, look at old women then continue playing game.
Golfer/Artist: (Shrugs) leans back to continue drinking and making strokes on a canvas.
Old Women:(CloseUp) Sighs and keeps walking her way.
CUT: Dusty Ranch. Framed right to camera.
Ranch Hand: Hammering fence posts into the ground. Sweat,dust, and dirt covered. Takes a break between swipes and wipes dirt and sweat off brow.
Young boy: hands him another post.
Ranch Hand: Gives a quick smile and continues hammering a post.
CUT:
SCENE: slightly wider shot. Fruit Tree field. SunSet. framed left. foreground: can see back of canvas with man still sipping dring in lawn chair. A wooden fence is viewable out of focus close to camera. background: children sleeping in previously empty hammock. Piles of snack food wrappers litter below it. t room.
Golfer/Artist: Yawns, Stretches, and looks at watch. Put’s down chalk. takes another sip of drink. Looks at canvas. Then looks off to the right. Then looks at canvas and gives an approving nod.
CUT:
SCENE: Sunset: Dirty Ranch. along mended fence line. Frame right.
RanchHand: Leaning down over tool box inspecting, cleaning, and putting away various tools.
Young Boy: hands man more tools to put away.
Ranch owner: walks up to fence line. Looks over the work. Runs his hand across the top of the fence line. and give an approving nod towards the young ranch hand.
Ranch hand: winks back at the Ranch owner, acknowledging the compliment with a cocky smile.
Ranch Owner: reaches into his pocket and pulls out a pile of cash and walks towards the Ranch Hand.
Ranch Hand: Moves toward Ranch Owner to greet and receive the payment for a days work.
Ranch Owner: shakes Ranch Hand’s hand with the right and over his payment with his left hand . Leaves Scene.
Ranch Hand: Looks proudly at the fence and looks at the money. Wipes his brow again. Looks up at the setting sun. Starts walking with the young boy at his side to the left of the scene out through the fence gate.
CUT:
Scene: Wide shot. We see that the fence line and fruit trees are very close to one another with both the Ranch Hand, and the Golpher/ Artist are facing each other. Golpher/Arists:
Ranch Hand: Holding money in his hand. Looks at the Golpher/Artist and starts to walk past him.
Golpher/Artist: Looks at the money, Stops the Rancher in his tracks. Point the canvas board.
SCENE: Closeup of Canvas. Shows not a painting but a new government ordinance. It reads:
” LOCAL ORDANANCE: 103-11
DEPARMENT OF FENCE MENDERING
All ranch fence mending jobs must have approval and permits from the Department of Fence Mending and meet with the approval of the Fence Mending CZAR. All fees paid will be an equivalent of 51% of the labor obtained from any single Fence mending operation. This is not a tax but a service fee. ”
Ranch Hand: slopes down in a defeated posture and hands over a pile of cash to the Golpher/Artist.
Young Boy: Hand the Ranch Hand a beer.
Ranch Hand: Pops open the can and is about to take a sip.
Golphe/Artists: Clears his throat and points back at the sign again.
On the bottom of the Sign. It reads.

“Rule 120: There will be no drinking of alcoholic beverages with 50 feet of a Fence Mending Job site.”
Ranch Hand: Hand beer over to the Golpher/Artist. and Walks away.
Golpher/Arists: Watches them leave into the sunset. “Says have a nice day”. Looks at the freshly open beer can and his empty Fruit Cocktail drink glass. Throws down the glass and takes a sip of the beer.
