Via Mediaite, here’s the Beck segment. It’s disappointing insofar as it devotes more time to funny names for the bar — “Suspicious Packages” is especially good — than to the point Gutfeld’s trying to make about double standards vis-a-vis cultural sensitivity. But it’s three minutes of airtime with a big audience he wouldn’t otherwise have had, and he did get to read the insanely hypocritical tweet from the Park51 spokesman, so hey.
Has anyone suggested “Scimitars” yet?

Slightly off topic – they have a tshirt for sale here in the Philippines that has a typical ‘Men’s Room’ figure with a rather large – ah – protuberance. Below it is the caption “Weapon Of A$$ Destruction” (without the dollar signs for S’s). I haven’t seen anyone wearing these tshirts here, and I’m not surprised as this is a Catholic country, but they may be popular in the bakla community. I am…I just had to get that out tho. Thought I kept it simple. Just sayin’ is all. As conservatives, we should never be hypocrites. It’s just funny to see the reversal.
Just like those two tea party gays the other day in that vid…I go through the same thing when I’m out a the bars. I’m a political junkie, so I take it with me everywhere. I’ve gotten into so many arguments with a lot of dudes at the clubs defending conservatives. Can’t tell ya how many times a guy would just get up and say “I can’t take you anymore!!”
So yeah…I’m out defending the conservative cause, I still get a lot of guff for it here at HA from the gay-deranged just for being gay, and promoting gay marriage. But when it’s good for a jab at the muslim mosque (which i am totally against) the gays suit their purpose.
Just sayin, just sayin.

Well, I don’t know that it goes quite that far. Plenty here are find with homosexuality for the most part. They just feel that changing marriage is wrong. I may have missed some, but the true hypocrites seem to have stayed away from this gay bar thing, for the most part.
I respect that. I’m sorta the opposite. I don’t mind telling strangers, but there are just so many people I know I can’t reason with, so I try a stealth mode on them, pulling out libertarian lines, trying to get them to see what the DNC is all about but I don’t out myself. I’m surprisingly outnumbered in Texas.
I get you, but if you just quietly let them enjoy it, you might be surprised what you see. Things like this have a way of making people reconsider their opinions, at least the ones that are truly born of hate.

I would hope you and many others who have known me for so long around here realize I’m not some tool liberal gay activist. As conservatives, we’re all in this fight together. Even the closest of “families” have their in-fighting tho.

I agree that conservatives should shy away from the hypocrisy that the left wallows in. I’m ok with the joking here though because I think we all assume that the gay bar will never get opened next to the mosque. The PC crowd will bend over backwards and tie themselves in knots to accommodate the muslims, so they, like the spokesman for the mosque group, will argue with such contradictory logic that our heads will spin, but liberals’ heads will just nod.

But I think we’re thinking of different degrees of hateful. I suppose I’m talking about the ones who are otherwise decent people but who see gay anything and kinda blackout a little. I’m talking more about the ones who would be persuaded to change their opinion on homosexuals in general if they knew more gay people.
I think plenty do, but for those whose biggest issue is gay marriage, it’s probably harder to for them to see it. And then there are those who call everyone who disagrees a liberal, but there’s nothing you’d ever be able to say to them.
Plus, I think infighting hurts people more than fighting with liberals, so it’s harder to look at clearly. So I think more understand than it seems.
