“Charlie Rangel has served our nation with honor and distinction for more than four decades — before I was born and the President was a twinkle in his parents’ eye,” the CBC member said of a career in public service dating back to Rangel’s days in the Army.

Note the things we don't say, even anonymously.

"He didn't do it" or "He's innocent"
"It wasn't as bad as the media is portraying it"
"He was a patsy/framed"

Nope, instead:

He's such a nice person who has worked for so long, why can't we let him get away with tax evasion, fraud, and blackmailing donations...(paraphrasing here, but this is the gist of the defense given)

Are past actions exculpatory for future crimes? Can anyone tell me what I need to do for the country/whatever to get a freebie bank robbery? I still think that looks like fun (except of course for the lengthy jail sentence).

Soooo they think their 'blackness' will get them off??? It may with their fellow crooks, but it won't be lost on the general public. Perhaps their own constituencies(I can't imagine even these sanctioning this, but then....) apparently feel that race is an excuse for any kind of bad behavior. The rest of us feel differently. The Ethics Committee is on the hot seat for this one--we'll watch and see. This could end up being a huge factor in up coming elections if not handled properly.

Dog-Whistle Racism
Dog-Whistle Racism is political campaigning or policy-making that uses coded words and themes to appeal to conscious or subconscious racist concepts and frames. For example, the concepts ‘welfare queen,’ ’states’ rights,’ ‘Islamic terrorist,’ ‘uppity,’ 'thug,' 'tough on crime,' and ‘illegal alien’ all activate racist concepts that that have already been planted in the public consciousness and now are being activated by purposeful or accidental campaign activities, media coverage, public policy and cultural traditions. So, what’s dog whistle racism? It’s pure political theater to push buttons to win elections and policies. StopDogWhistleRacism.com, a project of the Center for Social Inclusion, is here to identify, expose and help you to track it. Join us. [emphasis mine]

I guess we will have to add "ethics trial" to that list of secret code words that activate the subconscious racist in all of us.

All retarded? By my count, slightly over half of us voted against the clown of the Senate. And you are from where? Was it Illinois?? You disappoint me, Jaibones.

Oh, now...I was just having a little sport with the state that elected lunatic fringe Mark Dayton to the Senate, WWF wrestler Jesse Ventura to the Governor's seat, and bad, washed up comedian Al Frackin' to the Senate.

And if, by "clown of the Senate", you mean Obama, then no, you didn't. But if you mean Frackin', well, the jury's still out.

Apologies for the broad brush.

I think it is pretty obvious that the dems have decided to attack the blacks. They know they don't have the power or the numbers to stop them, so they "pick" off the easy pick'ens.
They didn't go after Dodd, or Frank, they are going after just two African American's...they didn't go after Murtha or Reid, and they didn't go after Feinstein when her husband received sweet heart contracts from the commission that Feinstein headed up.
Nope, they took two African Americans, who have been around too long, who have embarrassed them, and are now sacrificing them.

...So let us acknowledge and agree that Maxine Waters is insane, corrupt, stupid, and an admitted socialist — but no more so than Dennis Kucinich, who ruined Cleveland so completely that it remains totally effed up decades after he moved on from his Mayor’s seat.

Let us acknowledge and agree that Charlie Rangel is a liar and a crook, and so is Rod “Hairdo” Blagojevich in Illinois, and that a just world would see them in the same cell for the next 20 years.

...

When The Race Tard can laugh off the latest Marlene Waters abomination without kneejerking into a defensive clinch, then we can move on to talk about clowns like Luis Guttierez … and start to heal.

+1000! (that's 1000 factorial, which is, umm, a really big number)

It looks as if we may, just maybe, be able to put Blagojevich into that cell he so richly deserves. Has Kucinich been involved in any scandals, or are we going to have to make a case for removing him on the grounds of mental incompetence? If only there were a Congressional equivalent of a Section 8 discharge...

One member of the Congressional Black Caucus, also speaking on condition of anonymity, expressed bitterness that the president would turn publicly on Rangel, a decorated Korean War combat veteran.

“Charlie Rangel has served our nation with honor and distinction for more than four decades — before I was born and the President was a twinkle in his parents’ eye,” the CBC member said of a career in public service dating back to Rangel’s days in the Army.

Good point!

The CBC needs to remind Obama how Bush stepped in to save Duke Cunningham Ace fighter pilot in Vietnam!

Cunningham became one of the most highly decorated U.S. Navy pilots in the Vietnam War. The first fighter ace of the war, he received the Navy Cross, two Silver Stars, fifteen Air Medals, and the Purple Heart.

Obviously Obama would look really weak if he doesn’t step up and save Rangel, just like Bush did with Duke Cunningham!

Whites don’t “NEED” leaders.
Whites are not a voting block.
Whites, in general, don’t belong to the “Borg” or “D-Borg”

BTW, ever notice that once a racial group becomes a “voting block” there’re true blue screwed”?

After 1964, AA became a voting block for the Dems, notice how much progress stalled after 1964?

Dems won’t do much for them after all they are going to vote dem anyway.
Repbs won’t do much for them after all they are going to vote dem anyway.

“He should be treated with honor and respect,” the member said, referring to Rangel’s work promoting equal rights for African Americans. “In fact Mr. Rangel made my service in Congress and Mr. Obama’s presidency possible.”

That's funny.

I'm certainly no McCain booster (I despise the man, and hold him in just as little regard as any liberal democrat), but wasn't there a group that claimed (and continue to claim) that McCain should basically be given a free pass on his stupidity, because of his 'heroic service'? Wasn't there some that claimed that Murtha was such a superhero, for the same reason? When it was a defense for McCain, it was totally invalid, and people on the left were quick to say that his service should have no bearing on the here-and-now of his piss-poor legislation.

Funny how that doesn't apply to liberal democrat robber-barons, like Charlie Strangle.

The Obama presidency may actually succeed in leading this country towards a true post-racial existence - albeit in a way very different from the one he wanted.

Also, Maxine Waters - not "amazing." Have you ever seen her speak? This is totally up her regular crazy alley.

Why on earth should any of these people get special treatment? Why aren't they charged with crimes like you and I would be if we cheated on our taxes or committed fraud. They WORK FOR US. Why is it so friggin hard to get rid of them? Throw the bums out already, it's that simple.

One member of the Congressional Black Caucus, also speaking on condition of anonymity, expressed bitterness that the president would turn publicly on Rangel, a decorated Korean War combat veteran.

It doesn't matter who you know, or who you are, or what you've done. It's about the law. This is a nation of laws. That's what makes us different from the Third world and what used to be the USSR and a lot of Europe for that matter. We're so blessed to live here. Let's not embrace those who would throw away the rule of law in favor of, well, favoritism.

Gambling all is brave. They must believe in the race card so mo strongly and that their president will save them, they are willing to go all in on this. All in is their only option at this point.

these two big turds are just merely circling the drain of the swamp. They’re clogging up the pipe and once they flush, there’ll be a whole lot more where that came from.

Bingo... Effing right you are. Race baiters reaping huge dividends at the expense of others. Trash comes in all colors, but is piled high on the left.
