Time magazine’s new cover: Woman whose nose was cut off by Taliban

posted at 10:13 pm on July 29, 2010 by Allahpundit

Not just her nose, though: They ordered her husband to saw off her ears too for the crime of running away from home. Time’s editor insists that “We do not run this story or show this image either in support of the U.S. war effort or in opposition to it,” but that’s nonsense, of course. The image is as stark an argument as you’re likely to see for continuing the war, which is why lefties naturally have been griping about it all day. Some offer legit complaints — instead of putting a mutilated girl on the cover to make the case for staying put, why not put a dead soldier on there to make the case for pulling out? — and some not so legit, like the idea that because this happened last year when U.S. troops were already in the field, it portends nothing about what’ll happen on a wider scale when we leave. I’m glad that Time’s trying to reintroduce the moral complications of withdrawal into the debate at a moment when the anti-war Narrative would prefer to ignore the messy aftermath, but this may be a case where “the story about the story” overshadows the actual, you know, story. Most of the bloggy links that I’ve seen today have gone to the piece at Time defending the decision to publish the photo, not the actual cover story about the catastrophic social backsliding to come once Islamist fanatics regain power (not to mention the inevitable retrenchment of Al Qaeda). Maybe a little too heavy on the distracting shock factor here?

The Taliban seems like the kind of people the Adminstration should be able to work with. While recognizing the cultural institutions, such as mutilations, punishment rapes, and stonings may take a while to become part of our fabric, we know Obama and the Taliban share the common goal of complete control over the population by whatever means neccessary. So just pay your taxes, don’t oppose fascism, allow the elites to transform the world into one big Haiti and they won’t have to cut off your nose, rape you, bury you neck deep, and throw rocks at your head.

Be the first on your block!

I jest, but it only hides my agony. I can’t imagine how someone would do this to a beautiful and precious child. My heart wept, I was extrememly angered at those who could do such a thing. Truly, this is from Satan. “For we wrestle not with flesh and blood, but with spirits and principalities…”

I don’t know why this doesn’t get more coverage, either, but here’s a story on acid attacks against women, many of them in Pakistan. Warning: the pictures are extremely disturbing!!

Where are the (ir)relevant militant feminists while this type of atrocity is happening to women in Islamic cultures? I guess they’re too busy beating up on Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann to notice. By all means, let’s accommodate the kook imam who wants the U.S. to be more friendly to Sharia law. I don’t like my nose that much, anyway. Sheesh!

Did they ever run any covers or story angles like this when Bush was President?

Is any further evidence regarding the evil character of enemies required?

The Islamists who brutalized this girl have been at war with the rest of the world since the 7th century. They are prepared to continue their brutal atrocities until the end of the world. We cannot always dictate the terms of battle; our evil enemies have chose eternal warfare, and we cannot shrink from the realities.

Our resolve must be rock-solid. We must fight the Islamists with every means at our disposal, for as long as it takes, until they no longer pose a threat to us. That day will only come when they are dead, wiped from the face of the earth. When they no longer pose a threat to us, they will no longer pose a threat to anyone, including helpless little girls.

I have taken the time to educate myself as to the hideous nature of Islam but it seems like it’s too much for a lot of folks or they are simply buying into muslim apologist bullsh*t without any research. I’m not here to personally educate anyone but to strongly suggest that this country and those in Europe move to enlightenment on this menace. Please take the time to look at the video in this link:

It would be helpful to pass this around.

The Times does not want to run the cover because they can not be shown the victim dressed politically correct, in full Burka, because the veil keeps falling off.

Seriously, at work I have a couple movies that I show during Human Relations classes. One is “The Stoning of Sonja M” we know what that is about. Another is “The vote” depicting the tribulations of a single woman Iraqi women who is instructed to trek across the country to collect votes in a steel ballot box.

We discuss the first two, detailing the rights and wrongs of how the Arab Nation Treat their women. Finally delivering it to the capital for counting, The final one is “The Unthinkable”, where we call on the services of Sam Jackson to administer persuasive techniques to a Jihad bomber who after we break him down by making him think we are going to Unthinkable torture his children and he tells us where he planted the nuclear devices around N.Y. city.

Then the fun begins basically what is good for them is not good for U.S. to treat them the same way – however we get the information needed, using their technique of interrogation, we find them and disarm them all. The good guys win again right? Wrong, we find out that our school system failed to teach basic math and there was enough material for 4 bombs. End of movie.

The effect the first two have on the adults regarding tolerance is amazing we pat ourselves on the back because we don’t treat our women like that. However, the second one shows maybe we should really rethink how we treat the Islamic people with a degree of skepticism and let them prove their worthiness.
