[...] Allah Pundit on Hot Air wondered: A mystery: If he’s intent on pushing this line in order to score a few points on the enemy in the last few hours of this week’s Sherrod news cycle, why on earth would he do it on Fox? CNN would have let him get away with it and MSNBC would have cheered him on. Instead, by trying it on Wallace, he walks into a rhetorical doorknob. [...]

I've been waiting for someone to point this out, but I certainly recall the website for Fox News running the Sherrod video all day after its release from Breitbart. So the Lefties crying about the television coverage from Fox are way off base, but conservatives should at least acknowledge that Fox News was running with the story before Sherrod's resignation, if only on their website.

That being said, the primary fault obviously lies with Sherrod's superiors for taking action without waiting for the facts to be checked. This likely includes the upper tier of the Obama Administration, which tends either to act without forethought or to refrain from passing judgment even when all the evidence has been collected (see Fort Hood shootings).

Below that, I think some blame can be shared with the NAACP and Breitbart, though he has certainly proved his worth in many other ways. Fox acted with some restraint in their broadcast, but internet activity (including on the blogosphere) has always followed the pattern of act first, ask questions later--a necessary evil of the information age, perhaps.

Now Ms. Sherrod, as deserving as she might be of praise for her story of redemption, nevertheless falls far short of heroic in her reflexive victimhood mantra. Why no one can simply say "Hey, apology accepted" these days is a mystery to me.

The democrat party is full of Howard Dean types. If they cannot blame George Bush then out comes the race card and people who are against their American destroying policies are called racists. Howard Dean is the face of the democrat party. One has to wonder how in the world this man ever got a medical degree.

What a sputtering douchebag. Dean shows us what to expect in the next 2 election cycles.

They are going to need to motivate the black racists (sorry, Race Card, they do exist in ever-increasing numbers) and try to reconstitute the shame of the white guilt trippers who helped put the jug-eared sh*t-stain over the top in 2008. Since the economy sucks so badly, unemployment is high and our children's futures belong to the company store, all under the leadership of Obama and the Democrats (good name for a crappy garage band that can neither sing nor play), they have to grasp this straw and hope it holds. Yes, they will still use the "blame Bush" gambit, but that's getting a little threadbare. I don't think they care that crying "racism" diminishes real examples of racism. They are desperate and desperation breeds mistakes.

Bombmaker Dean

TN Mom on July 25, 2010 at 10:31 PM

When I am engaged with liberals they refer me to a Countdown segment where Bill O. denies that Fox ever reported that there was jail time for not having health insurance. Then he shows clips of Fox reporters saying just that.

If I were Fox, unless I needed to fill time, I would handle MSNBC like the media handles Fox. I would ignore them except to dismiss them.

From my limited travels in the ideological morass, I have begun to believe that the same weapons (or the same type)used on the last administraton are being used on Fox. There is even a worry that left leaning folks tune into Fox and discover a really cool delivery of excellent reportage. I have had a brain dead lib curse me for encouraging Fax watching since they often have a better message and more fun than any other network. Now imagine you are the left...

In a small way, Dr. Dean was making am IED for Code Pimk and the rest to lay down and cite all over the lefty landscape. How else to play to his fans and justify coming on the program?

Racist? No. But when they have a man as clearly mentally disabled as Dean on and allow him to speak as if he's making sense, that's cruel mockage of a disabled person and unconscionable. I lose all respect for Fox when they do that. Who next? Alan Grayson of Orlando? the government needs to do a better job of protecting the CRAZY PEOPLE.

Another question per his insistence that what Fox did with the tape was “absolutely racist”: Is Dean suggesting that O’Reilly and Hannity wouldn’t have aired an embarrassing excerpt from a speech delivered by a white liberal? I recall Glenn Beck having a field day with that clip of the very white Anita Dunn talking about Mao. The liberal line on Fox, I thought, is that they’ll use any weapon to hand to attack the left and Obama, not just lefty minorities. This one’s more effective, I guess, however true or untrue it may be.

This is a perfect example of why AP is really a conservative, in spite of the criticism he sometimes gets. The left doesn't care so much about whether an accusation is true, just whether it's effective. Charging racism is a political tactic above all else.

The people who actually care about whether or not the charge is true are at least potential voters for conservatives.

I think Newt is too eager to take a stance on issues. He's trying to burnish his credentials for 2012, and he's using the ready fire aim method.

That's bad news for him, and for the GOP in general. Newt would be great in the Cabinet, but these race stories help make him toxic in a general election.

Dean wasn't going to let the facts get in the way of his story. He knows the Fox show is seen by some folks who might not have been following the issue all week. And he got away with basically lumping Glenn Beck in with the racists. Wallace either didn't know or didn't care to point out that Beck DEFENDED Sherrod, a day after she was fired.

The left runs with their template, and facts don't matter. They never did matter. How do Democrats get elected? By saying the GOP wants to take food away from the old and the poor. They say the GOP doesn't care about our children. But it's not the GOP who destroys the future of our children in favor of currying favor with the teacher's unions. The GOP didn't make a deal with the AMA and the insurance companies to pass a bill and then install a man who's in love with NICE.

But the truth doesn't seem to be a news-worthy issue.

Howard Dean is a moron. First, he claims the Black Panthers story is "crap" and 'fake', then he acknowledges that they are, in fact, a racist organization. Then he goes on to completely dodge the question about what role FOXNews played in that racist idiot Sharrod's firing. And people let this guy do medical procedures on them?! FOXNews and Glenn Beck are at fault, just for playing the clip, even though they didn't do so, until AFTER her ass got das boot. And nooo, she's not a racist, crap-eating scumbag.

"You know, I haven't seen such a mean-spirited people as I've seen lately over this issue of health care. Some of the racism we thought was buried. Didn't it surface? Now, we endured eight years of the Bush's and we didn't do the stuff these Republicans are doing because you have a black President."

Naaah.

"So that's when they made black people servants for life. That's when they put laws in place forbidding them [i.e., blacks and whites] to marry each other. That's when they created the racism that we know of today. They did it to keep us divided. And they — It started working so well, they said, "Gosh, looks like we've come upon something here that could last generations." And here we are, over 400 years later, and it's still working.

What we have to do is get that out of our heads. There is no difference between us. The only difference is that the folks with money want to stay in power and whether it's healthcare or whatever it is, they'll do what they need to do to keep that power, you know. [Applause] It's always about money, ya'll. [Applause and murmurs of agreement.] You know. I haven't seen such a mean-spirited people as I've seen lately over this issue of health care. [Mumurs of agreement.] Some of the racism we thought was buried — [someone in the audience says, "It surfaced!"] Didn't it surface? Now, we endured eight years of the Bushes and we didn't do the stuff these Republicans are doing because you have a black president. [Applause]

I wanted to give you that little history, especially the young people, I want you to know they created it, you know, not just for us, but we got the brunt of it because they needed to elevate whites just a little higher than us to make them think they were so much better. Then they would never work with us, you know, to try to change the situation that they were all in."

We're just taking it all out of context.

Sharrod isn't a racist, and neither is Howard Dean.

It was painful watching each of them tapdance around their positions, Newt playing the misled innocent, and Dean completely falling on his face over his idiocy.

Both of them are revolting.

Sometimes I think it might be easier just to become a racist. Then, I wouldn't have to care that my character is attacked by these a$$hats.

Is there a special license or application I have to fill out in order to apply? I'm going to lose a few friends I suppose, but that's a small price to pay I'm thinking. /s

Dean is so used to talking to lefty syncophants that he looked actually dumbstruck when confronted with facts. "Facts are inconvenient" to Dean all the time and in his deranged world he just ignores them.

The Journolist world, the rest of the MFM and the Obama admin all decide what the lie is and repeat it to make it true. Notice how they have all stayed on message?
