Children dropping F-bombs for gulf spill “charities” now
posted at 2:00 pm on July 25, 2010 by Diane Suffern
Nothing says “I mean business” like a well-timed f-bomb, especially coming from a kid.
Not to be outdone by Junk Shot, Top Kill, Saw and Cap, Hot Tap and “Plug the Damn Hole,” Luke Montgomery and Nate Guidas of Unf–k The Gulf have upped the rhetorical ante (content warning):
Compelling.
I mean, Just look at those f–king kids saying f–k. Just look at them! Doesn’t this insipid, scripted rant against Big Oil inspire action? Get angry! Get outrageously outraged that little kids are so distraught over this environmental crisis they’re duty-bound to use language they aren’t inclined to use unless they’re exposed to it by adults! Use that f–king anger and buy this f–king overpriced t-shirt to help clean up the mess Big F–ing Oil made. What? Who’s f–ing Bobby Jindal? Why should I care that the drilling moratorium ham-stringed Louisianians’ ability to get back to work? What f–ing speech? What protest at the Cajundome? Who cares…look at these f–king pelicans!
Honestly, that idiocy offends me more than children being used for yet another leftist cause célèbre (although Culture Warrior Bill O’Reilly might disagree). It’s the same sort of banal sloganeering which brought us “Hope/Change,” “Yes we can,” and “Just fix it!” which helped usher in the most appalling statist policies our nation has seen since FDR. The same people also create sites like BP Republicans, conveniently forgetting that BP’s 2008 donations broke even between Republicans and Democrats with Obama raking in the single largest donation ever given to one candidate. They suffer from similar petrol-induced amnesia concerning Rahm Emanuel’s uncomfortable BP connection, as well.
But it’s not political, it’s environmental. It’s charity. Right. The funds go to one of four non-profit groups with no political motivation at all including Earth Justice (an environmental law firm) and Greenpeace.
Don’t get me wrong. I realize the enormous ecological damage this spill has caused and am well aware of BP’s role in the disaster. I ♥ sea turtles. But it’s this sort of jejune, mantra-chanting propaganda which now promotes policy, bringing us federal “top kills” such as Obama’s new National Ocean Council and an ideologically-driven drilling moratorium irrespective of Gulf States’ livelihood. (Read Laura Curtis’ fantastic post on the administration’s response to the crisis.)
Unf–k the Gulf‘s polemic isn’t shocking. It isn’t surprising, it isn’t unbiased, and it isn’t cute. They can spew the f-word all they want and I’ll still tell those children to plug their damn holes and let the adults get back to f–king work.

No, no I really don’t.
As usual, the “concerned” people are either ignorant, heavy-handedly out for their own agenda, lawyers trying to stuff their pockets, or in this case, all three!

veni vidi vici on July 25, 2010 at 2:24 PM
If there is a perfect analogy for liberals, I think it is of children who feel the adult world is against them. This is why the idea of a child dropping the F-bomb appeals to them, it’s a symbolic sneer at the adult world they hate so much. The theme of children sticking it to the evil adults is close to the hearts of mosty lefties, the kind of people who are liable to prattle on about an adult world which has lost its way and could be redeemed if only we would listen to the uncorrupted wisdom of children, etc. This is just more along that theme. Kind of boring.

When you are dealing with a huge masses of ignorant and truly unintelligent people you have to keep things simple. It’s why we have misleading headlines, bumper sticker slogans, and cropped pictures.
It’s also why they are so obsessed with all things “smart”. Smart power, smart technology, Obama is so smart (if you have to keep repeating it, while it never manifests itself in reality, even the half-wits will catch on)…
Their social tinkering has raised a massive number of naive, useless people who are ignorant of our history, clueless about economics, seduced by gadgetry, completely lacking in morality, and can be easily whipped into action over juvenile cries of racism, something super cool like swearing, or class warfare.
I feel sorry for the millions of young Americans who never had parents who set them on the right course, and counter this brainwashing. (It’s also why they have been so intent to assualt the traditional family structure).
So, if you have a clue and didn’t have your brain turned to mush by the boob tube, public skrools and the like, thank your parents and positive role models.

Cindy Munford on July 25, 2010 at 2:54 PM
Why aren’t more people talking about this?
The Washington Post’s recent Investigation, called ‘Top Secret America’, explores the immense and complicated network that is the US intelligence community. Their take on the situation: The structure of the US intelligence community, since 9/11 has become overgrown and potentially flawed.
The intelligence community was essentially created as an agent of the government for the protection of the people. But the question the investigation raises is: If the community is now too large to be coherent, is it failing to protect the US people?

Ok, folks. Follow the money. I know about as much as their is to know about printing shirts. This is a
unf*cking scam!Five bucks is nice, don’t get me wrong. But this is not a charity drive. That charitable donation is their marketing hook and PR lede. Duh. They get a bunch of free press with a 2 minutes worth of bleeping on air and all the kiddies will run and by their new cool shirt.
Depending on the quality and mfg of the tees somebody is making at least double the donation on every shirt sold. This is better than opening a pot shop in Berkeley.

Somewhere back in time, as the number of rock ‘n roll “artists” seemed to have grown to an endless list, “rock stars” began needing tatoos covering more and more of their body followed by metal sticking on and out of various places on their body. All of this in an apparent effort to get noticed.
I think is used to be that if a person appeared in movies or on TV, they were considered a “celebrity”. My television now has hundreds and hundreds of channels. There are now movies at the theaters, movies only for premium channels, movies that get released only on DVD and, of course, YouTube videos.
Follow efforts like this video with its very lame attempt at using shockalue to get noticed with a little Facebook or Twitter mixed in and you can sum it up quite simply.

You would think if these people actually did care about the things they scream they do, they would have a high regard for the truth. You would think, also, if they hold a high value for life, that they would embrace freedom, private property and our nation in general.
If they cannot trust the many, then why would they trust the few? If they fear power being spread out among thousands, why do they then advocate that power be invested among only a handful?
Funny, these children think they are among friends. The truth is the adults in this group really do place a higher value on the birds in the Gulf than they do on babies in the womb. These kids are lucky they survived pregnancy. The adults who seem thrilled with allowing them to swear on film would be the same ones who would have gladly aborted them had their pregnancies been a slight inconvenience.
