Video: Arch-propagandist troubled by media’s lack of ethics
posted at 10:18 pm on July 21, 2010 by Allahpundit
And so a day that began with news of the Journolist all-stars celebrating Obama’s election win by sneering at “f***ing Nascar retards” and fantasizing about throwing conservatives through plate-glass windows ends with a lecture on decency and ethics from the most tinpot left-wing demagogue on the airwaves. Ethics? This is a guy who runs an echo chamber so notorious that it actually qualified as news when Dave Weigel told him something about Sarah Palin that he didn’t want to hear. Decency? This is a guy who compares Fox News to Al Qaeda (unfavorably!) and right-wingers to terrorists and derides the tea-party movement as some sort of neo-Klan at every turn, yet has the mammoth balls here to lament conservatives’ “fomenting of hatred of Americans by Americans.” Even some of his own regulars couldn’t take it anymore and cut ties to MSNBC in the interests of … ethics and decency. And of course, on the critical question of just how culpable “Fixed Noise” or whatever he’s now calling Fox is on Sherrod’s firing, he’s wrong on his facts. As noted earlier, Vilsack pulled the trap door on her before Fox ever ran the clip.
And yet, and yet, here’s Mediaite breathlessly slobbering all over him for a “classic” rant. Even if lefties agree with him on the substance and even if, somehow, they can stomach the gallons of hypocrisy he’s funneling down their throats, how can they stand the sheer pompousness of the performance? The extended Dreyfus metaphor, the heavy-handed dramatic camera cuts, the pathetic emphatic pronouncement of Breitbart’s name: How do you not cringe? All that’s missing by way of theatrical pathos is a final close-up a la Iron Eyes Cody of Olby turning towards the camera as a single tear rolls down his cheek.

Keith Olbermann sat at home and cried in his bathtub instead of showing up for work when he didn’t like hurting Clinton by covering Lewinsky in his early MS-NBC days
Keith Olbermann (according to Ann Coulter — consider the source) used his mother’s passing away as a pickup line at NYC-area clubs
Ethics? Kiss it, Keith.

And let’s not let Sherrod off the hook.
Her statement today to Media Matters is AWFUL… saying “foxnews wants black people to be put back in their place where whites are in power”…. typical deranged Democrat.

As far as Sherrod goes, just remember that it is difficult for a leopard to shed its spots. The whole point of the video clip was the audience reaction to Sherrod’s words and not her. Is that so hard?

He truly is astonishing in his arrogance and lack of self-awareness.
He actually believes that he’s a straight, objective journalist who reports on matters fairly and with no bias. He’s stated numerous time that he covers politics like he covered sports, with no interest in which team run.
Yes, he believes all of this.
He is always complaining about reporters not calling him when they do a story about him or about Countdown. Yet he has never - never - allowed someone he does a critical story about to appear on his show to refute his charges. Never. Not once.
Astonishing arrogance.
Truly remarkable.

I watched the whole thing earlier on his show because I had tuned in to see Lawrence O’Donnell promoting it 20 times; I loved the “me, me, me” self-adoration and his absolute insane jealousy of Fox News’ ratings. It isn’t so painful to watch (if you included the whole thing – I’m not watching twice) – he comes down hard on Urkel.

Anyone else follow the Drudge headline to the article at Reuters? There is this little gem:
Conservatives had linked the tape to the NAACP asking the conservative “Tea Party” political movement to denounce racism by some of its members. Images such as Obama with a bone through his nose and the White House with a lawn full of watermelons are often displayed at Tea Party rallies.

I’d like to take a quick moment to note that the 22-year-old kneepad users at Mediaite are only being helped by having big posts linking to them like this. They’re such slaven whores to the left and MSNBC (but I repeat myself) that they make Gawker look like a professional operation. Can’t we just sweep them under the rug entirely if we’re not willing to directly attack?

LASue on July 21, 2010 at 10:55 PM
Keith………I know you’ll read this because you’re vain and a sociopath. You openly tried to lose a war in Iraq to win an election. You are a traitor. You cut short your vacation to strut your left wing bile and scream for the soul of Ms. Sherrod. You tried to lose a War Keith; where men died to win it. It’s not about her career or the lives of those men who died to win that war. It’s always about YOU.
You are a traitor….sir. No vague historical reference can change the fact that you routinely sell out the souls of brave men to further your Freudian Self Hatred projected as your “battle” against Fox News.
That’s why you bed down a 30 year old girl. That’s why you’re too afraid to drive a car. That’s why you sat in your tub instead of covering the Lewinsky Scandal. Hey, it pays for that condo and those box seats at Yankee Stadium…but it will never sweep away the fact that you’re a fraud.
You, sir, are the coward.

Worthless. Can’t even be bothered to watch. I’d rather watch Chris Crocker cry for 12 minutes than Olbermann’s “star-hard-bonus vocab words~!” partisan rants.
lansing quaker on July 21, 2010 at 11:12 PM
I assumed from the headline that he was scolding them for JournoGate, but I should have known better. Maybe this NAACP video controversy, (which I didn’t pay much attention to), was an attempt to smear “Fix News” with a controversy of their own to divert the public’s attention away from JournoGate.

Disclaimer…I am not a “race fan”, but always love pointing out to the Left how stupid they are on this subject.
Motor Racing was invented by the Leftist cheese-eating surrender monkeys in France in 1887. Obviously these all-stars don’t know that.
There are race tracks in all of the countries in the Leftist elite area known as Western Europe. Russia also has them, as does South Africa.
In the US, there are race tracks in too many Blue States to count-all of the major Democrat states have them. O’bama is I am sure familar with Chicagoland, and in the State he claims to have been born in Raceway Park near Honolulu was a fixture for over 50 years. The sport is still huge out there.
California has many world class racing tracks, as do the Blue States of Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Here in New Hampshire, a hick state which voted for Jeanne-Claude Kerri in 2004 and O’bama in 2008 and which has a nearly all-Democrat government, we have a world class track at Loudon.
But a tip: if you really want to shut up a Leftist whenever they bring auto racing up, ask them about Far Right icon Paul Newman and his Newman Racing team, which has outlived him.
They will walk away from you every time because they know they just lost the argument.
Del Dolemonte on July 21, 2010 at 11:20 PM
Mr. Obermann is crazy, he wants Mrs. Sherrod to
AND
This is Mr. Obama’s problem. He has been treating half the nation, that didn’t vote for him, as the enemy. No compromise, his way or the highway. “I won.” That’s not how you lead, that’s how you divide. I have to assume, since he is the smartest man to have ever taken a breathe, that division is his goal.
Cindy Munford on July 21, 2010 at 11:27 PM

Who is this Keith Olbermann guy you keep talking about?
He is nothing. Nothing.
Is nothing sacred? Nope.
Why would anyone waste perfectly good time watching this guy? Or listening to a single word he has to say? Anyone with more than half a brain could easily find more enriching things to do with their time. Clean the cat box. Arrange fire place logs in order of type of wood and diameter. Finally get that pesky bit of ear wax out of your ear canal. There’s a lot of things of greater importance than anything this Olbermann guy has to say.

leftescaped “Countdown” for the ‘sanity’ of the impending Lawrence O’Donnell 10 p.m. show (and really, if you’re the daughter-law-of Maury Povich and a show you’re involved with is too much of a train wreck to tolerate any longer, that really is saying something about Olbermann’s stability).jon1979 on July 21, 2010 at 11:55 PM
