I sure hope you are sincere.

Okay. Now I know I’ve been away from the comments section too long when I see AnninCA saying things like this.
VibrioCocci on July 15, 2010 at 11:36 PM
Your posts often read as if Obama did not go out of the way to get the job he has and simply by virtue of fate he won. I’m sorry, he could have gotten off that train at any time and spared himself the “headache” of “leadership”.
Instead he chose to stay. No sympathy from me.
Sharr on July 15, 2010 at 11:37 PM
No. LOL*
That’s awful, huh?
I really do like the Clintons, though. They were absolutely right for a moderate like me. Socially liberal, fiscally conservative.
Perfect!
AnninCA on July 15, 2010 at 11:37 PM
Come 2012 it does not matter who will be it will be anyone but Obama and this will be louder than the any but a Republican of 2008. A ham sandwich that is not Obama can win. A roll of bobble wrap that is not Obama can win. A broken iPhone 4 that is not Obama can win. A real momma grizzly that is not Obama in a bear suit can win. A photo of Obama may win but the man win not.
Any infighting is just wasted ammo that does nothing more than makes smoke and noise and wastes power. Keep the power dry to fight the real enemies in 2012, the MSM.
tjexcite on July 15, 2010 at 11:37 PM
I read it.
Lemme tell you, if Hillary is the nominee, you watch all those hillbuzz broads, the PUMA broads, the men who think Palin is stupid, the women who aren’t nearly as attractive peel off and vote for that filthy shrew.

Electrongod on July 15, 2010 at 11:38 PM
First off: FOCUS ON NOVEMBER (and getting the most Conservative candidate during the primaries this month and in August).
Secondly:
Before dismissing anyone (and I say this to remind me as well) let’s see how the primaries play out, the debates, etc. Palin did fine in debates with Tony Knowles and Murkowski. She’s been in politics for what 15 years? She’s aware of how the game is played.
Thirdly:
I just can’t see her getting out there and encouraging others to be MAMA GRIZZLIES and to take on the battle if she’s not willing to do it herself.
Fourthly:
DOTUS and the Democrat/Progressive/Alinsky machine in the Congress and Media will DESTROY ANY GOP NOMINEE FOR THE WHITE HOUSE…
..You think they don’t make Mitt look like he eats live snakes and conducts orgies in the Temple? You think they don’t photoshop a picture of Mike Huckabee sitting down at a Buffet restaurant for a helping of Opossum Brisket with a Hillbilly stripper gal with 3 teeth gyrating at a pole? You think they don’t get Mitch Daniels or Tim Pawlenty or Rubio or whomever in some kind of scandal? Get ready for the GOP nominee to be Palinized.
Finally,
Give it time, Palin (if she even runs) can certainly win over Independents, and I have every confidence that if she runs she could beat DOTUS in a Landslide.
PappyD61 on July 15, 2010 at 11:38 PM
Another great Sarah thread. It really brings out the love in the HA posting community, doesn’t it?
I call that “chainsaw love”, because it’s so thick that’s what you need to cut through it with.
Sometimes it’s so dense it even knocks all the teeth off! Then you gotta get a diamond-bladed something or other.
BTW, I am a Sarah fan. Betcha didn’t see that coming.
listens2glenn on July 15, 2010 at 11:38 PM
I just don’t get these people that say Sarah Palin has no chance of winning.
I say that if Oilbama and the Demo-rats continue along their Marxist dictatorial ways, especially if the economy still sucks, the Republicans should be able to win the Presidency by running a ham sandwich as a candidate.
Amazing how fast Scooter is turning peoples’ attitude from “Anyone but Bush” to “Anyone but Obama”…

TXMomof3 on July 15, 2010 at 11:39 PM
The first mission is to get the House back in November and to get enough Senators to have a fillibuster proof group without the Maine twins and Scott Brown.. then we will worry about 2012.

The wink photo AGAIN. Please AP, change it up. You torture us enough as it is with the Palin-baiting.

After watching the destruction of the Obama Administration these past 2 years, and seeing the aftermath of the biggest liberal power grab in decades at the hands of Obama, NinjaPirate announced 2 weeks ago that if had a choice to vote between Obama & Palin, that he would vote for Obama.
He has no credibility in conservative discussion.

Presidential Debates 2012!! Higher Ratings than the Superbowl.
TimeTraveler on July 15, 2010 at 11:39 PM
Oh no, you’re misunderstanding me. His ambition went as far as getting the position, and that was truly ferocious.
The man has been planning this since he was a kid, truly.
In a way, it’s a pretty neat story. Odd to see someone actually realize such a dream. What’s awful? It’s a real job, and I don’t think he’s ever had one. He doesn’t handle it well.
That must really be creepy, to get your dream and not know what to do.
AnninCA on July 15, 2010 at 11:39 PM
That’s good enough for me. I wonder if Romney could truthfully say that?

I really like and admire Tammy. I love Sarah. I would vote for Romney. I hope they don’t turn on each other. We need them all on our side.

And if neither Obama, Palin nor Bloomberg get 50% of the electoral votes, the election will be decided in the House of Representives… as it is constituted in 2012.
Can you say “President Palin”? MWAHAHAHAHAH!
Tuning Spork on July 15, 2010 at 11:42 PM
Absolute, 100% lie.
The party is tainted primarily. Hillary re-ascribes to it? She will not have anywhere near the support she did in the year of “Not Bush.”
Try again.

Where are they when Sarah is… I’m not saying these women can’t take care of themselves because they obviously do but… it sure makes the men look awful…

I want a candidate that I can believe in, one that I can work my tailfeather off for, be proud to call OUR guy or gal!
I want a candidate that is proud of our great country and does not feel the need to apologize for it.
I want a candidate that does not feel the need to apologize for being a conseravtive/republican.
We haven’t had a candidate like this since Reagan, and I was still in primary school during THAT election.
George HW Bush.
Bob Dole.
George W. Bush.
John McCain.
I want a candidate that represents US, smaller government, lower taxes, strong defense. Someone that will say AMERICA AND AMERICAN FIRST.
Palin is the CLOSEST that I have seen so far to this ideal.
HornetSting on July 15, 2010 at 11:43 PM
Exactly.
The Media says: If it has an (R) after its’ name, it must be destroyed. ‘Nuff said.
But the lengths the Lamestream Media has gone to to destroy Sarah tells me that they are extra especially scared of her…Wonder why?

Would it be possible for these people to just say nothing? Discuss policy differences if and when they become opponents. Say what you want about Gov. Palin, if she has stooped to these levels I must have missed it.
Cindy Munford on July 15, 2010 at 11:45 PM
I don’t understand this phenomenon either, but I see it a lot. All I can guess is that most who hold these views don’t realize that social liberalism inexorably leads to fiscal liberalism.
Missy on July 15, 2010 at 11:45 PM
Right now, though, I’m faced with socially conservative/fiscally conservative versus Romneyesque socially conservative/fiscally irresponsible.
No question which I’d vote for in the primary. I’ll suffer through the socially conservative junk.
AnninCA on July 15, 2010 at 11:46 PM

Dire Straits on July 15, 2010 at 11:47 PM

AnninCA on July 15, 2010 at 11:48 PM
Agreed. I am not ignorant of all the possible downsides to her campaign (thank you HotAir) but when I see this silly $hit played out by possible candidates and their proxies she seems the most promising choice.
Cindy Munford on July 15, 2010 at 11:49 PM
The recent PPP poll shows that Mitt has only tepid support from the conservative base at best. Sarah has strong support from the same group. My question to the Mitt supporters is this, do you think that your continued efforts to criticize Palin actually hurts Mitt more than it helps. Because if he gets the nod, he will need this base to support his run. Continuing with the personal attacks on Gov Palin rather than speaking out on the issues and putting forth ideas to help us recovery from the disaster that is Obama won’t get it done with the base. If anything, it will most likely lower his favorable rating with them even more. I don’t care how good he polls with disaffected Obama voters and independents, (it’s a straw man argument) without a supportive and fired up base, he won’t win.

Newt Gingrich just is not weathering his own aging process too well.
I think Karl Rove is, in spades.
AnninCA on July 15, 2010 at 11:49 PM
Oh, for the love of–!
Let me switch gears from enlightened lansing– student of the philosophes from the headlines to “keep it rull” lansing here:
Hillary is NOT RUNNING in 2012.
She will not, and if she does, she will lose so so so so so bad.
Trashing Hillary in front of anyone who says they “like” her is dumb.
I like Hillary and would never trash her personally.
I wouldn’t call her some “neo-marxist alinsky sellout carpetbagger trophy-power-hungry-wyfe” or whatever.
Anyone who does is ignorant to 2008 and is buying into MSM projection into “EPIC CATFIGHT 2012″ between St. Hillaria and Sister Sarah of the Carmelite Order.
Don’t buy into it. I will call Hillary a sell-out and someone who abandoned the moderates and indies who supported her. I won’t call her anything else, because anything else is counter.pro.ductive.
It cannot be said enough.
lansing quaker on July 15, 2010 at 11:50 PM

John Thune…I like it, but SD…hmmm.

Some people have values and principles, Ann. They don’t consider it ‘junk’.
HornetSting on July 15, 2010 at 11:52 PM
I would say that I’m usually opposite of most. If I say, “I’d never go for Romney,” then I assume a lot of people will do so out of some kind of statement about Palin.
I still don’t think it matters. She’s going to throw her hat in the ring, and that’s been clear for months now to me.
Some of the resistence is sexism. Some of it is due to her style. Some of it is due to GOP upheaval.
But, I personally think about party disorder, who brings order, and that’s Palin, not Romney.
If she’d kept quiet for 18 months like he did? Frankly, Dems would be winning every election coming up.
He’s worthless, in my opinion.

I seriously hope you’re not comparing Hillary to Thatcher. Hill has nothing on Maggie T.
But that’s neither here nor there, ultimately.
lansing quaker on July 15, 2010 at 11:57 PM
Not sure what her problem is with T-Paw. Did he go negative on SP? Doubt it. Doesn’t seem his style.
Anyway, mostly agree with Tammy. Going negative on SP serves no purpose and isn’t even necessary. And it’s DIVISIVE. If you’ve demonstrated competence, then campaign and highlight that. Good enough to win. Maybe good enough to keep SP’s support, which will be needed. Stupid to make an enemy out of her and her fans. SP would be an awesome VP, skewering the opposition. Save the negativity for the Dems.
I’m an SP fan, but will not vote for her. Whomever attacks her, I will not vote for them either. If they all attack her, then I will vote for her. Romney better disavow his stooge quickly.
exdeadhead on July 15, 2010 at 11:57 PM
Are you serious? Chealsea is so not a politician. She campaigned for her mom. I don’t know how Chealsea was raised, but I’ve often wondered how Hillary managed it. She clearly has a devoted daughter.
BTW, unlike Palin. Palin, I relate to. Chealsea adores her parents, clearly.

Newt frustrates me. Typically when I hear him interviewed, I agree fully with 99% of what he says and admire his eloquence.
And then he goes and does weird stuff like sit with Nancy on the couch.
He’s one of those historical anomalies. Half of him has killer instincts and half is completely unpredictable and untrustworthy.
Missy on July 16, 2010 at 12:01 AM

Ugh. For the love of the Guadalupe, stop hating on Hillary.
Meme du Jour vis-a-vis Hillary: she abandoned principle democracy and justice for her voters. She capitulated when she won. She was a real winner, and caved when the chips were down.
There’s your angle. Stop with this 1990s fancy. Remind her voters (the majority in 2008!) how she left them with Obama. The typical stuff is far less effective as it is more D-vs.-R tribalistic.

Did you perchance happen to watch the DNC Rules Committee where they met to decide that Barack would get the nomination instead of Hill, even though they were “tied?”
What an eye-opener!
I’m still not real sure what sort of shenanigans went on off camera, but they went away from C-SPAN for 3 hours.
They came back and started giving votes from states where Hillary had won the primary to Maobama.
Lanny Davis, on Hill’s side, practically had a stroke.
I think the story of what happened at that meeting and at the DNC convention have yet to be told and may never be told.
