Poll: What was the Obamateurism of the Week?

posted at 9:00 am on July 11, 2010 by Ed Morrissey

It’s time again to choose the Obamateurism of the Week, and we will not rest until we have one.  Hey, we could easily have 4 or 5, but that might be a little hard on Barack Obama’s self-esteem.  He can thank us for keeping it down to one, but we have to admit that the continued supply of Obamateurisms is getting a little … Erie.

Previous 2010 “winners”:

Got an Obamateurism of the Day? If you see a foul-up by Barack Obama, e-mail it to me at obamaisms@edmorrissey.com with the quote and the link to the Obamateurism. I’ll post the best Obamateurisms on a daily basis, depending on how many I receive. Include a link to your blog, and I’ll give some link love as well. And unlike Slate, I promise to end the feature when Barack Obama leaves office.

How about all of the above. All of his statments are insane and the people who listen to all of that who think he is so … They are just insane to listen to that cra…

Congratulations to the vast majority of HA readers/commenters, who voted for the NASA item. What a smart bunch, with gratitude!

Once I read what NASA’s mission now is, I knew that we’ve lost all hope for sanity.

The former Marines general, and astronaut, who’s now chief of NASA, has also lost all credibility, for his life’s work and dedication, for having accepted this job.

“NO WAY” is what he should have said, professionally, to a naive, uninformed, undedicated and simply maniacal political hack of a president.

“Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for a Muslim country”.

John Kennedy weeps in his grave, for his country, for the world, for science, and for any scintilla of rational thought.

While “Obamateurism” is a perfect designation, a close second could be “Dummkopf entry of the day”.

Crimony, it’s hard to believe there could be so much stupidity in a week.

But that’s what I say every week.

It’s hard to believe anything this consistently bad is accidental.

We keep saying “stupid,” “incompetent,” “inexperienced,” but I don’t think that explains it. I think it’s more like a bunch of oppositional-defiant people who never matured past about 3, emotionally speaking, and managed to lie themselves into a position where they could wreck as many things as they get their hands on. Some of them think they can then build some fantasy world in place of the real world, some of them just like to wreck things.

There really needs to be an All of the Above option.

Nearly everything this president has done has been to diminish America and American lives and elevate the Muslim world.

Jvette on July 11, 2010 at 2:30 PM

The stupidest and scariest thing ever seen? Not Obama, but those who voted for Obama.

mobydutch on July 11, 2010 at 9:48 AM
And to put the icing on the cake, the people who still support him.

Mirimichi on July 11, 2010 at 1:07 PM

Last week, Limbaugh made a very good observation. We, he said, will survive Obama….but we’re doomed if those that support this kind of regime continues to grow…and it sounded as if he was certain it would. Now is the time to get out there and educate the kids on what freedom REALLY means, and not the liberals warped, and demented version of what it means.

Is it time to start one for Holder? He is easily capable of one really really stupid comment a week, but every day?

I would like to see weekly Holderism polls as well.

This week was a treasure trove of Obowma goofs. The dude is not getting better as he goes along. He’s deteriorating as predicted.

Wait until Palin’s 2012 campaign gets into full swing and then the fun will start as she sells out every day and Obama is left with a box ull of unsold tickets.

Yes! If this had been on the menu, I’d have had a hard time deciding if his projection about Israel or NASA took the cake this week.

I’m going with Erie Canal it fits with what Newt Gingrich argument that The President doesn’t understand America.

Dr Evil on July 11, 2010 at 7:32 PM

The Erie Canal one isn’t really an obamateurism. He said that “government” played a role, and he was right. It wasn’t the federal government, but he didn’t say that it was.
