To be fair, Narutoboy was attacked in this thread before he started going after others. Which isn’t to say that he didn’t deserve the attacks, based on his conduct in other threads, but it’s not his fault for this particular thread degenerating.
Having said that, now that we’re hip deep in trash anyway…
Let me help you out. The flag is the symbol of the Confederacy. The confederacy stood for slavery, and for states rights. Some people fly the flag out of support for slavery, while many others see it as a symbol for states’ rights.
While no one here supports slavery, many also do not support the much more dubious stated rational of Lincoln for the war, which was not to free the slaves, but to hold the union together at all costs.
Many black people, as well as other liberals, find the flag offensive – they have a much more negative view of the confederacy – for black people, this likely has to do with the fact that it was black people who were enslaved, making the slavery aspect of the flag understandably hit home, whereas for liberals, it is more that states’ rights have pretty much no meaning to them. In both cases, this leads to a view that the confederate flag symbolizes slavery.
Most people here would say “Slavery = Bad, States rights = Good”. Views differ as to what the flag represents, and therefore whether it is good or bad, or somewhere in between. Since it means different things to different people, it is unfair to accuse someone of flying it when they don’t – that doesn’t mean it’s inherently wrong to fly it, just means not everyone wants to get involved in that debate.
None of that should be very hard to grasp, and I think most people here understand it almost intuitively. But you seem a little slow, so I figured I’d offer my assistance.

Whether or not anyone deserves the attacks is entirely beside the point, given that personal attacks are an invalid way of arguing a political position.

I will add my 2 cents here (but sorry-I don’t happen to have any video for proof right now):
1. The Confederate flag is not racist. It was a battle flag. But of course there are those who will argue that since Southerners were all racist that the flag is too bcs they fought on the ‘wrong side’ in the civil war (which did not really have the priority for fighting for slave freedom). Those arguments are nothing but empty vessels for the insertion of racist propaganda (the re-qriting of history).
2. Flying a foreign country’s flag over public property, while never being allowed to fly Old Glory, is nothing short of treasonous. But I suppose there are many who would argue that Old Glory is racist, like the Stars & Bars. Whatever.
3. I suspect voter fraud is why BO & many in Congress were elected in the 1st place. Dead men don’t tell , though. And I doubt we’ll get any video on that.
4. IMHO Batman sucks (anime also sucks-& is deeply disturbing on so many levels. It is truly for femmy boys & girly girls). DC sucks. Marvel rules. Nuff said.
5. Red Dawn remake? SWEET! However, this time they should, instead of Russians, use muslims, or militant illegal mexicans.
6. And to the main point of this thread:
Voter fraud is serious business. And it should be of NO surprise to anyone that the current admin is quietly choosing not to enforce laws that hinder getting the illegal (convicts,dead,illegal aliens, chinese lobbyists-jk! etc.) vote.
I would say that this is the one area in America that we cannot be silent on.
It is why BO wants amnesty for illegals.
I still can’t figure why Bush wanted amnesty.
The bottom line is, we have way too many laws in this country that are stupid & insane.
The laws that need enforced are not.
The laws that do not need enforced, often are, but very selectively.
I see selective enforcement in many areas, not just voting.
The moment we Americans wake up in the morning & walk out the door, we are breaking laws we have no idea we are breaking as we go about our daily lives in honesty.
The govt has made us all criminals in one way or another.
We have to reign in the govt beast.
If we don’t, this wonderful Republican (NOT democratic) experiment is over.

I have no idea what Jenfidel said about interracial marriages.
So I will cut to the chase here.
Race means NOTHING.
It is nothing but an inbred gene pool, separted from other gene pools in the human race.
And inbred is not a bad thing like people make it out to be.
It’s just a reduction in genetic diversity.
But people are also genetically predispositioned to consider ‘race’,those that do not look like them, bcs it’s in our DNA to do so.
Perhaps it’s a survival mechanism.
You’ll note that despite the relatively porous borders many countries of the world have, there is not wholesale mixing of the races.
It is a mix of cultural differences, as well as genetic.
In the end, it means nothing.
I am a white woman who grew up, oftentimes, in places where I was the minority.
I never considered race anything important.
But in my experience, having lived up & down & back & forth all throughout the lower 48, I can say that the majority of racism I have seen has come from those who do nothing but cry racism in the news, i.e. blacks & hispanics.

As far as race I think all races are equally capable of having racists. If a straight line percentage applies, as I think is likely, the part that is hard to swallow for some minorities is that they do have racists in their midst. But in the same vein the part that some in the predominant demographic sometimes have a hard time acknowledging is that by being the larger demographic, numerically there are more racists in that group than others.
