Good news: Mass. school to supply students of all ages with condoms — even if parents object

posted at 8:39 pm on June 24, 2010 by Allahpundit

Yes, technically, even kindergarteners can request them. But don’t worry, this policy isn’t aimed at them.

It’s aimed at fifth- and sixth-graders.

The policy, first reported in the Provincetown Banner, keeps parents from knowing if their children receive condoms, and mandates that school officials can choose to supply them even if parents object

Grosso said one [School Committee] member proposed limiting the policy to the high school, which serves seventh- to 12th-grade students, but he fought against it.

“I was the one who said, ‘Well, you never know,’ ’’ said the 64-year-old father whose two children graduated from Provincetown High School. “It’s very possible that a fifth- or sixth-grader would be getting involved in sexual activity.’’

Singer said she wanted the policy to apply to the Veterans Memorial Elementary School so that fifth- and sixth-graders could get condoms. There were 17 students in those grades this year, according to state data; there were 69 students in preschool through fourth grade at Veterans.

She’s confident that if young kids ask the school nurse for a condom, their request will, er, “almost certainly” be denied. Question: If, in the name of safety, you’re going to enable risky behavior by kids, why draw the line at condoms? Why not make clean syringes available too for the aspiring junkies of tomorrow? Or what about a craps table on the playground so that kids can learn to gamble responsibly? Imagine how many future loan-shark victims will be spared by learning to manage their winnings properly now.

Exit question: How soon before the school board reverses course under fire? Over/under is five days.

Ann Coulter had it right when she said, “Liberalism is a mental disease.” Massachusetts seems to suffering an epdemic of mental illness.

Too bad they are too stupid to realize that there are more than two possible outcomes in their lives. Progressives seem to have a narrow limited intellect.

just condoms? Why not dildos, vibrators, petroleum jelly, inflatable dummies and special bedrooms with mirrors on the ceiling? When Bobby Rydell sang the 50′s hit ;’Swingin’ School’ he didn’t know what he was starting.

MaiDee on June 25, 2010 at 12:43 AM

That would tick me off to the highest degree as a parent.

“It’s very possible that a fifth- or sixth-grader would be getting involved in sexual activity.’’

And who is allowing that crap to go on? Parents stoned, drunk, off with their boy/girlfriends? If they’re responsible parents who are working ridiculous hours, I would imagine that their kids would be instilled with values and don’t expect to be taking care of grandbabies born out of wedlock.

Most likely nutjob Singer is trying to keep her employees safe from the kids her colleagues are molesting rather than safe from each other.

And the first woman you drown is a freebie. Shot-gunning your brother is iffy.

Suzie:

Why can’t I go on the field trip?

Teacher

You didn’t get your parents to sign the permission slip.

Suzie:

Well can you drop me off at the abortion clinic?

Teacher:

Sure! Hop in!

Are we in hell, or is it just utopia? Or does it really matter?

I live in MA. I will move hell and high water to ensure my kids are able to stay in private school here.

We’ve gone from being a nation where kids say the darndest things to teachers think they do the darndest things.

I’ve been to Provincetown and after a brief walk down the streets I understand why the school system thinks it needed this policy.

Glenn Beck just had a show yesterday about the Communist Agenda.

Encourage promiscuity was on the list –

And remove Parental authority

Hmmm someone has a check list up in Massachusetts?

Dr Evil on June 25, 2010 at 9:17 AM

Glenn Beck “Communism Is Cool” That’s how it is being sold to the youth in this country, who don’t have any reference to what Communism is or the history of Communist in this country.

Dr Evil on June 25, 2010 at 9:20 AM

From the last link

What did the Communist Party USA say they wanted to do in 1963? Here’s a few that stand out:

No. 17: Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks

No. 40: Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce

Round up every elementary schooler, and offer them a piece of candy for every condom they request. Wait for the district’s reaction to every first grader asking for multiple condoms every day.

What a waste. Point the horny little rugrats to the nearest gas station or drugstore, tell them to take $10 apiece and read the **** instructions on the box before they start stripping.

The abstinance programs aren’t working, but darned if we need to expend tax dollars on such nonsense. Why can’t they at least charge for the stuff at-cost to recoup some of the expenses?

Dark-Star on June 25, 2010 at 2:17 PM

Veterans ought to stand up and object to Singer wanting to make this happen at a school named Veterans Memorial. Massachusetts Vet organizations, get cracking!

J.E. Dyer on June 25, 2010 at 2:19 PM

Okay, forget grades because people without kids don’t really relate to the idea that way. It better to say it straight. They are targeting giving condoms to 11 and 12 year old boys & girls.

My eldest son is 12. He hasn’t even had the white stuff yet. Nor is his anatomy anywhere near being able to effectively use one of these things. Even if he attempted to do something like this, I don’t think he’d be physically capable of accomplishing much.

My point to all of this is what is the point behind doing this then? Obviously it is about encouraging children before their time and maturity level to think about sex, sexualizing themselves and their friends, and promoting initial attempts at a young age so that they can perfect the technique by high school. That way rather than having a sexually naive high school population, they can have a prepared group of kids ready to learn about Planned Parenthoods fisting techniques. All for the greater good of making things such a Gay Marriage seem a mild topic indeed.

Never discount the power of desensitization.

Sultry Beauty on June 25, 2010 at 3:39 PM

It is controlling the population of the loons of the left and preventing more children to become welfare state children. I am a conservative voter, this may be one nanny state that I agree with. With absent parents or ones who don’t care what their kids do, at least there may be an outlet for them to get contraception and be advised on birth control. I’d rather have tax dollars pay for a $10 box of condoms (just guessing on the price) than tax dollars paying 18 years of food stamps and welfare.

LadyGator88 on June 25, 2010 at 3:41 PM

With very few exceptions (for decreasingly small areas of the country), the vast majority of liberty-loving parents in the U.S. should be moving heaven and hell to either get their kids into private schools or homeschool them.

There is a quickly closing window of opportunity as there is no doubt that homeschooling will be outlawed soon, with religious-based / parochial private schools following shortly thereafter (or have nationally “approved” curriculums forced upon them).

The juxtapostion of the homosexual agenda, the P.C. police, the teachers unions and the liberal-dominated public education system will, without a doubt, bring an end to homeschooling and private schools with their own curriculums.

Ignore the warning signs, not at your own risk, but at the risk of the children our nation has begun sacrificing to the “god” of public education indoctrination.
