Chris Matthews’ ‘The Rise of The New Right’: Deceptions and Delusions

Last night, MSNBC aired a Chris Matthews special, labeled a documentary, called The Rise of the New Right. I decided to take a quick break from my radical right wing extremist acts like bitterly clinging to my guns and my Bible, whilst fiendishly drawing Hitler moustaches on Obama photos, to watch it. I know. Apparently, I’m a glutton for punishment. However, while absolutely infuriating, it was simultaneously hilarious and almost took my mind off the distressing shortage of windmills in this country.
Almost immediately, two things became rather apparent. Firstly, MSNBC’s NewSpeak definition of “documentary” is evidently “blatant fallacies and pure propaganda”. Secondly, it’s quite clear that Chris Matthews’ leg ‘tingle’ has moved into his brain, or what passes for some semblance of one. Either that, or he’s merely decided to embrace his cuckoo pants. Plus, he’s a big, fat liar. I feel no qualms about saying that, since Matthews spent a full hour demonizing me and people like me as violent, irrational racists. In fact, the entire show could be summed up like this:
Racists. Birthers. Guns! Evil scary militia groups that have the same “Don’t Tread on Me” flag!!! Chanting “USA, USA” and being fond of the Constitution and, you know, liberty is super scary and ominous. Also, racist. And violence fomenting. Plus, racist.
You see, now Community Organizing is evil and dissent is no longer Patriotic. Instead, that now signifies some sort of marauding mob of nefarious radicals who are doubleplusungood. President Obama said “I want you to talk to your friends and neighbors; I want you to argue with them and get in their faces” , but that was okay because George Bush. Or something.
It’s not okay when the right peaceably assembles, voicing opinions articulately, in full and coherent sentences and using facts and rational thought, because we aren’t supposed to even know how to read! Plus, we don’t base things on feel-goody Utopian ideas of kitten whiskers, fairy dust and magical windmills. We sneaky right wing-nuts embrace real world ideas like individual success is a good thing and that people do not need the government to run every aspect of their lives and businesses. Oh, the horror.
It must be horrifying, as the entire show was scored with super spooky music. A video clip of Ronald Reagan? Cue ominous horror movie music! A Sarah Palin segment? Dun dun dunnnn. Matthews, of course, portrayed Sarah Palin as a dum-dum “failed candidate”, yet also somehow ominous and fiendish, accusing her of putting those who voted for Obamacare “in the cross-hairs.” Get it? She’s totally fomenting violence. From her facebook page.
Matthews continued shamelessly lying throughout the entire hour. I’d be hard-pressed to find even one truth and I’d also be hard-pressed to choose which lie was the most egregious. Probably the most constant lie, however, was the theme of “Racists!” It was also the most hypocritical. After spending most of the hour maliciously demonizing and fallaciously broad brush painting millions of people as racists, he then spent a segment demagoguing Glenn Beck — for saying that President Obama may be racist.
The abject lies continued as Matthews claimed Rand Paul is the face of the new right, neglected to mention that it was a Hillary Clinton operatives who started the “birther” movement, cited Media Matters as a credible source refuting “misinformation” from the right, interviewed the incredibly biased and race baiting agenda driven Southern Poverty Law Center as another source, suggested that the “new right” looks to Pat Buchanan for leadership, called Michele Bachmann a McCarthyite and compared Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck to Father Coughlin. Father Coughlin, who was a notorious radical lefty, an Anti-semite and, you know, insane.
JennQPublic summed it up best when she tweeted “If I was writing a parody of a Chris Matthews special, it would sound just like this Chris Matthews special.” Exactly. It was almost a self-parody and included every tired, lame, outright false and, frankly, insanely delusional leftist narrative regarding conservatives.
He ended it with more nonsense and breathless depictions of his delusions of a violent right by, with a super serious face, suggesting that we remember what happens when there is such ugly and violent rhetoric (e.g., “uphold the Constitution!”) coming from the right: Timothy McVeigh.
Oh, really, Chrissy? Perhaps all that kool-aid has rotted your brain. Here’s a reminder of where recent violence has stemmed from:
It was not the fear of conservative violence that caused Ann Coulter’s speech to be cancelled this week.
It was a liberal who bit the finger off a man who disagreed with him on healthcare.
It was Obama-loving Amy Bishop who took a gun to work and murdered co-workers.
Joseph Stack flew his plane into the IRS building after writing an anti-conservative manifesto.
It was liberals who destroyed AM radio towers outside of Seattle.
It’s liberals who burn down Hummer dealerships.
It was progressive SEIU union thugs who beat a black conservative man who spoke his mind.
It’s doubtful that a conservative fired shots into a GOP campaign headquarters.
In fact, Democrats have no monopoly on having their offices vandalized.
Don’t forget it was Obama’s friend Bill Ayers who used terrorism as a tool for political change. SDS is still radical, with arrests in 2007 and the storming of the CATO Institute in July 2008.
Face it, fallacious Mr. Matthews. We aren’t the ones obsessed with the color of one’s skin, we care about content of character. And neither are we violent, no matter how desperately you wish that to be so. We simply love our country and refuse to be useful idiots. Perhaps it will help you if I explain in hip, simple terms for you:
Democrats, we really just aren’t that into you.

Absolutely true dorian; the left sees racism in everything, especially if it somehow helps to vilify their ideological opposites (those on the right). A good example was the recent supposed racist Hallmark Card BS broo-ha-ha concocted by the lefty L.A. NAACP.
The truth of the matter as far as I am concerned is there are still those that are racist and always will be, but being racist isn’t purely the domain of white conservative people as people like Neutered-Boy would have everyone believe. I remember when I was a child living in upstate NY myself, my brother and my father were driving somewhere and we got a flat tire. While pulled over changing the tire a family of black people drove by honking, laughing out the window and calling us honky. This was back in the late 60′s and one I guess could excuse such displays of racism being understandable, albeit not right but understandable considering the times, a time when the civil rights movement for blacks was at its peak and racism against blacks by whites was much more prevalent than it is today so in that time in place it is no surprise some minorities had an axe to grind as the wounds of true racism were still raw.
And that is the point, today we have a black president something that would have been unimaginable back in the late 60′s, segregation is a thing of the past, jim crow laws have been abolished and blacks have many more opportunities and their standard of living is the highest it has ever been.
Again, it’s not that racism doesn’t still exist or that there aren’t still racist white people, there are. But lets put this issue into perspective, many strides have been made over the last 40 years to ensure black minorities are treated equally but to listen to the left there have been no strides made and blacks are just as oppressed as when jim crow laws were enacted.
This obvious divide between liberal and conservative viewpoints as to where blacks and other minorities are in regard to race relations and racism is telling and one has to ask themselves a key question and that question is:
Between the two ideologies (liberal versus conservative) which group/ideology has the most vested interest in maintaining the status quo when it comes to minorities being a victim of racism and/or oppression in general?
I believe if one answers this question honestly (and I seriously doubt people like Neutered-boy would be honest in their answer) one can only come to the logical conclusion it is the liberal left that has a vested interest in maintaining the status quo of minorities being the victims of racism and oppression in order to garner votes to maintain their power base.
Me personally I subscribe to Dr. King’s philosophy that a man be judged by the content of his character and not the color of his skin and I’m certain if Dr. King were alive today he would be appalled at the way the liberal left and dem elite race-baiters are using minorities by keeping them as victims in perpetuity for their own selfish need for votes/power instead of fostering an environment that encourages minorities to strive to better themselves instead of playing the race-baiting blame game.
The old adage of the boy who cried wolf has been replaced with the 21st century adage of the victim that cries racism and just as in the old adage this does nothing to help their cause because more and more people are ignoring their cries of racism which is a shame because when there truly is a case of racism that occurs more and more people will choose to ignore them instead of coming to their defense, and that is truly shameful!
Excellent analogy and sums up my above points well.

Matthews has never been anything more than an activist….
he feels so good about being a mouth piece for the Obama administration that he admitted it after Obama’s election:
Matthews: My Job Is To Make Obama Presidency a Success
By Mark Finkelstein

http://newsbusters.org/node/25966/print
CHRIS MATTHEWS: Yeah, well, you know what? I want to do everything I can to make this thing work, this new presidency work, and I think that –
JOE SCARBOROUGH: Is that your job? You just talked about being a journalist!
MATTHEWS: Yeah, it is my job. My job is to help this country.
Matthews wasn’t done with his odd new job description . . . An incredulous Scarborough kept pressing, astonished at such a complete 180 from Matthews’s repeated insistence during the Bush presidency that he had to hold the government accountable.
SCARBOROUGH: Your job is the make this presidency work?
MATTHEWS: To make this work successfully. This country needs a successful presidency.
…..when a supposed journalist feels comfortable enough to blatantly tell the viewing audience that his job is play lap dog for the President instead of reporting the facts and letting the public decide…..
……whatever faux credibility he had is destroyed even with his left wing audience.
……Matthews numbers are lower than the people attending Micheal Moore movies now.Their left wing base cannot even stomach their propaganda except for the few thousands useful idiots that only care about having their own delusions reinforced by having someone repeat what they “want” to hear and not what is “really” going on.
…yes a few independents will fall for this left wing idiocy but overall…the public is on to the pathetic bias coming from activists sounding boards like MSNBC:
New Poll: Most Americans See Media As Biased and Favoring Obama

……the Olberman’s,Matthew’s,and Rich’s are easy to expose on the internet and by conservative pundits.
What really needs to happen is our leadership on the Hill should expose them and continue to link this idiocy to the democratic leadership.
…..This is all by design and coordinated by the White House. Obama meets with left wing pundits regularly and his White House coordinates with liberal 527′s on a regular basis:

…Chrissy here is doing nothing more than taking marching orders from the White House.
…the same way Putin sets out his marching orders to Pravda and any journalist who is allowed to live.
Instead of letting the White House off the hook by allowing their political operatives to slander and lie with impunity….they should link them as one on TV and on the Senate floor…..make them defend this idiotic bullsh@t.

It’s actually very simple: you just don’t concede the issue.
If a moonbat derelict calls you a “racist,” “warmonger,” “greedy,” etc., and you take the bait and try to PROVE that you not the source of all evil in the wold, then you are agreeing that a self-congratulatory sociopath has the moral authority to sit in judgment over you in the first place.
There are a great many things in the world about which reasonable people may disagree. But you must never forget that liberals are not a part of that process. They are the antithesis of it.
logis on June 20, 2010 at 11:03 PM
The frequent charges of racism by the left are lame ad hominem attacks against conservatives. When that rhetorical device is trotted out, lately with amazing frequency, the left has run out of rational arguments and has simply lost the debate.

I won’t waste my time on your comments again.
Just as a parting question to think about. (I really don’t care to hear a response.) But for you and Naturoboy both; don’t you feel in your hearts that a lot of what you claim about racism pushes well meaning Conservatives to the tipping point? With all their best intentions, they get chided by you for your exaggerations and imaginations. People will get to the point where they say screw it and screw you. And folks who are sitting on the fence, you just bully them to the other side.
Good luck with your new political affiliation.
hawkdriver on June 21, 2010 at 1:22 AM
And now by many who claim to be from the right. Like I said above, they’ll believe what they want to believe and nothing you or I could say will convince them otherwise. Why waste our time even engaging them?
hawkdriver on June 21, 2010 at 1:48 AM
Lori, you should have two versions of this piece. One would be for people who are literate. The other would be for people who are illiterate so that Matthews would know what was written about him and understand it.

I sort of watched this documentary (I was multi tasking). I could not get over how hard and often they kept linking the tea party movement to the whacko right wing militia people. There has never been that link. There might be some people who sympathize with both entities, but mostly the tea partiers are those who want a constitutional government who lives within its means and doesn’t tax its citizens to death. Chris Matthews will never understand this simple concept.

The other MSNBC special was on Oklahoma City, aired on its recent anniversary.
As I posted earlier, the only difference between Tim McVeigh and Bill “Guy in the neighborhood” Ayers is that Tim knew his chemistry.

Chrissy truly is an idiot. He thinks he is very smart, but he is not. He has ZERO common sense and wouldn’t last 10 minutes in the hot seat running a business.
His stupidity is hinged upon the belief that freeloaders are victims. They are victims allright, of the choices and decisions they have made. You are a sucker if you study hard and get a job and work hard. Why work? The gubment will give you free money if you choose to be useless.
Rewarding undesireable behavior is a fools errand, so lust for welfare and amnesty prove Chrissy is a bonehead.

There were about 50 comments and every one of them (not even exaggerating) went something like this: “That’s because us white folks aren’t lazy. We actually have to go out and work and support the rest of you.” I mean, come on.
Narutoboy on June 20, 2010 at 12:09 PM
N-Boy, don’t you think it likely these were liberal trolls making the comments? I mean…COME ON!
I think that has been established over the past year that the color of one’s skin only bothers liberals. Conservatives are unconcerned with the color of one’s skin, only the content of their character as the author you disagreed with said.
