Video: Conservative messiah returns to earth

posted at 4:10 pm on June 17, 2010 by Allahpundit

He actually fires off a round in this one. Can it be, my friends, that Alvin Greene won 60 percent of the vote in a U.S. Senate primary without leaving his living room while the man responsible for the greatest political ad evah ended up third in a battle for … state agricultural commissioner? It’ll take a 70-seat pick-up in November to ease the pain of that loss. Which, given The One’s job performance lately, remains distinctly possible.

Up until now I was thinking Christie/Peterson in 2012, but after hearing him pronounce “McMillan” as Mac-Millan, I’m leaning Peterson/Christie. While we wait for primary season to begin, is there really not a single spare half-hour anywhere in the Fox News schedule for this guy to host his own show? “Give a Rip! with Dale Peterson” would be an awesome pairing with Huckabee’s program on Saturday night. I’m picturing a panel discussion with a live studio audience and D-Pete roaming the aisles, Winchester over his shoulder, challenging assorted Democratic “dummies” on their talking points. Beck-level ratings in no time. Exit quotation: “We shot this in the morning on Dale’s llama farm. We considered having the llamas in there, but thought that would be too random.”

Blowback

“Give a Rip! with Dale Peterson” would be an awesome pairing with Huckabee’s program on Saturday night.

I’d rather see him replace Huckabee than be paired with him. Huckabee gets on my last nerve. Can’t stand that phony.

We shot this in the morning on Dale’s llama farm. We considered having the llamas in there, but thought that would be too random.

You can NEVER go wrong with llamas. As far as this guy getting his own show, the Saturday night snooze fest could be replaced, Huckabee sucks and Geraldo, well, he sucks and spits. He could also have Shep’s spot for our daily dose of ‘balls’ instead of ballsax.

HornetSting on June 17, 2010 at 4:20 PM

You know, one part of my brain says that this will be used to demonize tea partiers, 2nd Amendment types, and generally characterize conservatives as “extreme”. (And we know what Big Sis thinks of THAT!)

The other side just laughed out loud, I absolutely loved this – and given that sign stealing has been a little problem for him, I loved his solution. Moreover, his bothering to support the guy he lost to for the good of AL is a big thumbs up in my book. The real question is how the AL voters will see it.

1st. I saw this ad in the Headlines, and fell in love with it immediately, but refuse to create a Youtube acct, and couldn’t post there how much I loved the ad.

2nd. Think about this. Dale LOST his race, and made this ad to send his support to one of the two that beat him. When was the last time you saw a politician do that? Spend what is, in essence, his own money to make an ad for a competitor?

I sincerely hope that Dale Peterson runs for office in the future. This is *exactly* the type of man we need in office.
