Video: MSNBC hosts dump on Obama’s speech

posted at 8:58 pm on June 15, 2010 by Allahpundit

Things I learned tonight from watching Keith Olbermann’s and Chris Matthews’s post-speech wrap-up: (1) Obama’s rhetoric is gassy and notably short on specifics; (2) renewable energy is much harder to develop than certain prominent Democrats would have us believe; (3) government bureaucracy may be contributing to the slow federal response in the gulf.

These three stooges got a memo which read: “Everyone on planet earth thinks you’re retarded for feeling Barry’s Gulf Coast tingle.” Simple as that. They’ve shifted gears strictly for expediency on this particular issue.

The public thinks Barry dropped the ball and is negligent for not using every resource to prevent the spill from reaching our shores.

This clip doesn’t change who and what Olby, and Chrissy McTingle are– Unparalleled dolts.

Chu is known for his research in cooling and trapping of atoms with laser light, which won him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1997.

Maybe Obama should also call in Austin Powers.

These guys hated this speech. They were more critical of his executive leadership than the Fox commentators.

BuckeyeSam on June 15, 2010 at 10:28 PM

Pinnochio is holding the entire country hostage to his liberal alterative energy fantasys. He has no intention of fixing this.
He is denying the very help that could mitigate the problem.
He is holding the country hostage until he gets his Cap and Tax and his greenie weenie slush fund.
He is holding us hostage because as he and his enviroappointees have said, “we need $10.00 per gallon gas like Europe.
He fashions himself a citizen of the world and is not an American.
He is out to destroy this country as we know it.
He has no authority to steal the capital of BP of whom I am no fan, but he would steal their capital guaranteeing they do not have the profits to fund their disaster. He would hold the funds to dole out as reperations to his preferred groups.
IMPEACH HIM NOW!

dhunter on June 15, 2010 at 10:31 PM

Okay… They are admitting he’s a world class boob… Where the hell is our apology? I want some serious, dead serious, friggin ole time begging and gnashing of teeth groveling from these turds. Otherwise, Obama is only one really well written, and teleprompt-orated speech away from being the man of their dreams… again.
-
Nothing less than total admission of their own idiocy and culpability in the fraud that has been perpetrated on our great country will do. They are still preaching from a perch that puts them in a special place of separation from and above their part in this calamity.
-
The spill is bad. Very bad… but Obama is a disaster… A friggin catagory 5 disaster. A complete and total F’in failure. And as much as anyone else… these 2 morons are responsible for him being in the WH. They are accomplices to what is the biggest crime in my life time; the theft of America’s future by the liberal leftist and the MSM.
-
Hey Chrissy and Oberdouch… Grab some straws and head on down to the gulf. Take one for your messiah while you’re at it. All you guys suck anyway.

I think your right. I think the man has gone insane and for his own health and the health of the Democrap Party someone needs to take the long walk to the Whitehouse and escort the Pinnochio out.
Even OBiden would be better Pinnochio, has lost his mind and is to be pityed!
I think its’ the stress, he can’t handle the job and the lack of gratitude for his efforts.
If something isn’t done he will destroy his Party and do greart harm to his country.
He is already destroying the beaches and wildlife of the south by turning away help and listening to BP rather than scientists.
No previous President has done such damage environmentally, fiscally, and emotionally to a country! This guy needs to be helped out of office, he can’t handle the job!

Obama has been paralyzed by this disaster because Obama is a liberal. Liberals love to make everything a oversimplified good vs. evil formulation. The real world interferes with this constantly, however. Demagoguing the heck out of everything might be good for politics in some circumstances, but interferes with real world decisions. In the real world, most decisions aren’t good vs. evil, but good vs. a greater good, or more often, bad vs. less bad. This disaster is filled with bad vs. less bad decisions that need to be made. Obama, being the liberal he is, isn’t equipped to make those kind of decisions.

It is a trip through the sewer on the SS Schaudenfreude over at DU tonight.

The phreaks at DU are dumping all over their Obamamessiah. The mods keep on deleting posts and locking threads critical of The Won but the howls of derision and criticism out of the “faithful” about their clay footed messiah keep getting posted.

There goes my old jokes:

How do you give Chris Matthews a concussion?

Kick Obama in the groin.

How do you give Olberman a concussion?

Well, maybe the second one still holds, but the first one…not so much anymore.

The day he was sworn in I was convinced we’d suffer a devastating attack within the first month of his presidency. Could hardly sleep at night, and waking up in the morning filled with me with dread.

All of which is to say, I’m not at all surprised by The Won’s complete lack of good leadership – I’m amazingly unsurprised.

Say what you will about McCain, but I can’t help thinking he’d have had a much more effective response to the oil spill. McCain spent decades in the military, and decades in the federal government. He knows how to establish a chain of command, and he knows how things work (or don’t work) in the various federal gov’t agencies, and how to get things done when they need to get done.

Watching Barry yesterday I was reminded of a video clip I saw of him during his run for the U.S. Senate. He was being asked if the voters of Illinois could be certain that he would concentrate on Illinois business, and not start running for president as soon as he got into a Senate office. Barry promised that he wouldn’t run for president during his first Senate term, because he “obviously” wouldn’t be qualified to be president at that point, having so little experience in the federal government. He joked that he’d still be learning who sat where, and where the restrooms were, during his first term.

Too bad Barry didn’t listen to himself. We’d all be a lot better off today if he’d taken his own counsel.

tarpon on June 16, 2010 at 9:54 AM

I’m not sure I’d be very excited about their criticisms. After listening, seems they “are” disappointed that the performance of President Obama is deficient as far as handling the leak. I think they’re more disappointed the legislation of this administration is slowing down because of the distractions. Bottom line is he’s not pushing the left agenda hard anymore.

I was thinking the same thing. When did FDR ever tell the proletariat Patton’s plans? FDR may have been a socialist, but unlike Oblablah he actually wanted the US to win a war.
