More Alvin Greene: I don’t have a photo in uniform, but would you like to see my baby shoes?

If not for the small matter of that pending obscenity charge, I’d be thisclose to an endorsement. This is the year that we send a “different type of candidate” to D.C., right? Well, this guy’s about as “different” as it gets.
You’ll be pleased to know that he now has both a campaign website and a Twitter account, and will reportedly be appearing on Olbermann’s show at 8 p.m. Will Olby grill him? Or will Greene get to play the same game of softball that every other Democrat who goes on “Countdown” gets to play? The suspense mounts, my friends.
After you watch the clip below, go watch Greene try to end an interview when a reporter asks him to describe what kind of campaigning he did.

Blowback

I can’t believe it, but his ‘website’ is fake too!
This guy is a class act!

There’s something really off-putting about the way the interviewer keeps asking him “Are you up for it? You sure? For realsies? You really think you have a prayer?”
Give the guy a break. We all know he isn’t going to win, do you have to humiliate him as well? What’s he supposed to say, “No, I have no prayer, I’m totally in over my head”?
RINO in Name Only on June 10, 2010 at 10:52 PM
Between this and the Photoshopped pics of Captain Kickass I can’t stop laughing. Really. For the first time since the 2008 election I have hope that I can make it to 2012. Thanks, guys.

Unfortunately, the Gov belongs to us in NC.

I posted there yesterday.
I spend a good deal of my time, however, trying to get people the buy my novel (hint; click my name), managing my publisher’s site, tweeting (@JulietteAkinyi), and writing the sequel to my novel.
Now’s the time to live one’s dreams. It’s now or never.

I was wondering for a while whether the GOP was setting up a gag with this guy, or whether the Dems are stupid enough to nominate him.
My conclusion: the GOP is too stupid to set this up.
QE freakin D.
Pavel on June 10, 2010 at 11:06 PM
I’m thinking that he won because his name is Al Green(e).
baldilocks on June 10, 2010 at 11:07 PM
Has anyone heard this candidate sing yet?
Inanemergencydial on June 10, 2010 at 11:10 PM
I think you’ve got this all wrong…I think he is the “personification” of how artificial the whole political process is! He is simply spouting the same platitudes that Lindsey Graham dribbles!
Leave Alvin ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cab8505 on June 10, 2010 at 11:31 PM
Clyburn is so clueless! That moron couldn’t find his own ass with both hands, a map, a flashlight, and a 30-minute head start.
`
I don’t believe under SC law the man can be removed from the ticket involuntarily.
Adjoran on June 11, 2010 at 12:32 AM
Local black activists and organizers either got this off the ground or decided to support him once he declared, did the minimum to get his name on the dem ballot and then spread the word to flood polls for Alvin. You can tell by the dem response that this wasn’t at all the expected result.
DeMint will have zero trouble dispatching this clown in November. but it’s a little troubling that someone like this could get this close to a real live Federal Senate seat. Shows you that the democrats have absolutely no one minding the store.
starman on June 11, 2010 at 12:33 AM
There’s something seriously wrong with this individual. I’ve seen six interviews now, and he’s got a completely flat affect in every one of them. He never smiles or shows expression in his eyes. These are classic signs of a dissociative personality. It’s easy to imagine him flipping out at some point.
As for Mr. Clyburn, who’s most famous for crapping his pants at the thought of US Marines succeeding in Iraq and carrying water for Nazi Peelousy, a long walk off a short pier would clear his mind.

After losing the election, meeting Obama, jogging across the country, Alvin Greene drives down to the gulf to buy a boat and start a shrimping business.
V-rod on June 11, 2010 at 2:47 AM
LOL! That’s great! I hate the movie, but that really made me laugh. :) :) :)
This man seems fairly incompetent, but, then again, after the wonderful display of incompetence by our President, maybe he thinks that that is how it is done in Washington D.C. (and he wouldn’t be far off).
Hopefully, DeMint will win again. :) :) :)
Theophile on June 11, 2010 at 3:24 AM
Why hasn’t the media spent as much time uncovering who Barack Obama really is???? LOL!
Hypocrisy again!
Ricohoc on June 11, 2010 at 4:28 AM
What’s the mystery here?
His name was on the ballot and Dems picked him over the other Dems on the Democrat primary ballot.
And who’s fault is that? Not Mr. Greene, not the Republicans, not the Tea Party.
He was on the Democrat ballot; South Carolina does not have Open primaries, so only registered Democrats could vote on the Democrat ballot.
Here’s a thought not covered by loosing Democrat candidates.
He wasn’t a “known” politician and the Democrat voters rejected the “known” Democrat politicians.
DSchoen on June 11, 2010 at 4:52 AM
Hummmm?
Seems like Olbermann is grilling this winning Democrat candidate as though his “win” is not ligitimate.
Is Olbermann is grilling ALL the winning Democrat candidate as though his “win” is not ligitimate or Just the ones who are African American?
Or Just African American candidates that beat WHITE Democrat candidates?
DSchoen on June 11, 2010 at 5:02 AM
yeesh. You’re probably right. I wouldn’t doubt if he’s a local hero right now.
He knows. He was smiting me for my slander of SC politics. :)

Up date
Should Alvin Greene withdraw from the race for U.S. Senate?
Yes 29%
No 71%
DSchoen on June 11, 2010 at 5:07 AM
I did see that and will check out the book.

TASS71 on June 11, 2010 at 9:17 AM
I agree. Especially since the guy will probably get at least 40% of the vote. He might even win.
blink on June 11, 2010 at 9:47 AM
i love this guy
blatantblue on June 11, 2010 at 9:57 AM
Ask him to show his birth certificate and grades he received in school….
Hope he gives the Obama answer to both those.
albill on June 11, 2010 at 10:08 AM
Did anybody notice that his webpage links directly to a north korean propoganda web page???
And this guy was air force intelligence in korea???
sonofdy on June 11, 2010 at 10:25 AM
Like I said before, there doesn’t seem to be any difference between Alvin Greene and any other Democratic nominee prior to the DNC machine taking them over.
The real question is why are the Democrats attacking him? Too black for them?
Oh hell naw, That’s racism!!!
Call in Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson ….Both ran for President Why can’t Alvin run?
LeeSeneca on June 11, 2010 at 10:46 AM
As long as he’s running as a Democrat!
Bubba Redneck on June 11, 2010 at 11:26 AM
Greene Job? Wazzat?
JohnBissell on June 11, 2010 at 12:26 PM
Wow, a real-life Chauncy Gardner.
DailyDanet on June 11, 2010 at 12:27 PM
Twitter account doesn’t work and the website isn’t his.
BrunoMitchell on June 11, 2010 at 12:54 PM
This man needs an immediate 10 million dollar influx of cash from the SEIU!
Why isn’t the National supporting.
He IS the fielded Democratic Candidate for the United States Senate, from SC!
Can’t really wait to see his first bill…
Demint needs to send his entire warchest to Sharron Angle in Nevada, to help toast Reid.
