Nina Easton: What I saw at the SEIU thug protest at that banker’s home
posted at 9:10 pm on May 26, 2010 by Allahpundit
You already know the story of the protest but I want to make sure you know that Easton’s now being smeared for reporting on it. Of course.
According to SEIU blogger John Vandeventer, “one Google search” reveals that Easton’s ”husband is Russell Schriefer, Republican strategist and consultant to several big corporate interest groups. In fact, her husband’s client list includes the Business Roundtable, a special interest group that counts Bank of America and other Wall Street banks among its members.” Media Matters’ Brian Frederick reprinted the same intel, citing Vandeventer. Both writers suggested that Easton had committed journalistic malpractice by not revealing her husband’s business doings.
But according to a source close to the family, both writers are wrong. Yes, Russell Schriefer worked with the Business Roundtable — once, during the 90s. And yes, he’s worked for the Chamber of Commerce, but not since 2006. Currently, his firm “primarily does media for Republican senate, governor and presidential candidates”–not Bank of America.
Has Captain Civility or his flack-in-chief been asked about this yet by any reporter, incidentally? Not that they’re obligated to answer for every sin committed by every crank on their side of the aisle; that privilege is reserved for Republicans. But after all the demagoguery about teabaggers gone wild coupled with all the finger-wagging at conservatives about disagreeing without being disagreeable, you’d think he might have thoughts on his closest union crony sending a rampaging horde to intimidate a banker at his home. But then, this is the guy who once told a group of financial CEOs, “My administration is the only thing between you and the pitchforks.”
Here’s Easton on Fox today, punching back twice as hard.

And since the “purple pitchfork people” showed up we can only conclude they did so with Obama’s blessing (if not his order).
DSchoen on May 27, 2010 at 5:42 AM
Obama’s most important political ally and supporter, SEIU, is attempting to send an intimidating message of mobocracy to law-abiding citizens in the country. It’s time for law abiding citizens to send Obama’s MOB a clear message that we will NOT be intimidated by thuggery.
See Video commentary here;
See text commentary here.
That the “lame-stream” media (term coined by Bernie Goldberg) is not unrelentingly demanding that Obama repudiate SEIU is nothing more than proof of what every self-educating citizen has know for many years: That the traditionally dominant media is entirely in the pocket of the far left. Only the un-self-educating people in the “middle,” who know more about “American Idol” than the thuggish tactics now being openly and brazenly applied by the left and whose continuing ignorance is perpetuated not only by their un-self-educating lifestyle but also by the willful silence of the traditionally-dominant media, are too ignorant to understand that if a group known as a prominment and dominant supporter of Dubya were to have applied such SEIU-type tactics by mobbing the private residential premises of a putative opponent, the traditional media would have unrelentingly HOUNDED Duby not only to repudiate such conduct but to permanently disassociate himself from such thuggigs behavior.
Megyn Kelly is a smart lawyer and her review of the “disorderly conduct” statute may be correct in Maryland, but in many jurisdictions for such invasions to be deeme criminal trespass (with serious consequences) would require either that the lawful owner appear and demand that the mob leave or proof that a “no-trespassing” sign had been posted before the mob invaded the premises.
It’s time to wake up the docile middle in the country to realization that the purple-shirt crowd is today’s “brown-shirt” crowd, and every law abiding citizen ought to be demanding that the media demand that every politician who has every received support from, or expressed support for, SEIU should now repudiate SEIU.

Why is no one asking this, who gave the order for the police to give SEIU a escort to those thug in the first place!

This country is going to hell in a hand basket…
therightwinger on May 27, 2010 at 7:11 AM
So the Obama regime staged the protests? And isn’t that the question that needs asking?
tarpon on May 27, 2010 at 7:17 AM
Perhaps it’s time for the Tea Party to start invading private spaces of those on the left.
kregg on May 27, 2010 at 7:30 AM
And we lay down and accept that…why?
It’s about damn time we put those days behind us. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.
Cylor on May 27, 2010 at 7:36 AM
Glad Meghan is not letting this go. Why aren’t we hearing from Baer? Would love to hear what a lib thinks of SEIU’s behavior.
And why are we expected to bail these thug’s out????
ctmom on May 27, 2010 at 7:58 AM
Home sales in gated communities increased last week.
Unexpectedly and unprecedentedly.
bloviator on May 27, 2010 at 8:17 AM
Man-up Fight back. As long as these spineless victims(BAER) do not fight back this stuff will continue to happen. I have been on both sides of the union debate. As a union member and as a supervisor with the same company. The closest thing we have to Communism in this country are labor unions especially public sector unions. If we don’t vote this administration and the democrats out of office it will only get worse.

Arm yourselves, people…

Aw, come on Union of ditchdigging pu$$ies. Take pride in what you do. Embrace those who spread your message of harassing children home alone, far and wide.
Take pride in your core beliefs!

Meanwhile, a silver haired 90 year old woman attending tea parties is violent mob intimidation and violence.
Saltysam on May 27, 2010 at 9:00 AM
If that had happened at my house, I would most likely be in jail, but SEIU would not be planning anymore brownshirt rallies.
Saltysam on May 27, 2010 at 9:01 AM
..with a shotgun you don’t learn to shoot. You just point and pull.
Figuratively speaking, of course.

Perhaps SEIU blogger John Vandeventer would like to see into the future. He could be viewing his own future by simply Googling “Sturm Abteilung” and “Ernst Roehm”. He might also learn what happens to those who cease to be of use to the ones they worship.

My feeling is that the polls are being “massaged” so he does not look so bad.
riverrat10k on May 27, 2010 at 10:54 AM
2nd Amendment, you people on the East and West coasts are sure a bunch of pussies.
serenity on May 27, 2010 at 11:11 AM
I would like these skin suits to come to my house. Property is posted, 12 gauge loaded with stingers, get too rowdy, another with buck, come on down!
PatriotPete on May 27, 2010 at 11:45 AM
The 14 year old kid should of had a Dennon stereo system with Wharfdale speakers playing this song at maximum volume for the desired effect.
BDU-33 on May 27, 2010 at 12:06 PM
This why we have 2nd amendment
Wade on May 27, 2010 at 12:07 PM
And we’re supposed to bail out these imbeciles (Unions) pension funds? Well…not supposed to…forced to.
I say we start rallying against these unions. They’re being treated like royalty, and we pay for it.
capejasmine on May 27, 2010 at 12:08 PM
Explain to me again how it’s okay to invade private property, stage an angry protest against the owner of that property, and the media comes along to record it.
Where were the police ordering them onto the public parkway?
DO TEA Party members get to storm onto the steps of Obama’s house in Hyde Park and stage a protest? Onto Nancy Pelosi’s? George Soros?
MarkT on May 27, 2010 at 12:29 PM
Why is it that SEIU gets police protection to trespass on a private citizen’s home? The state run media does not bother to cover this. Now, if it were tea party people, acting in a legal fashion, the press would be all over it looking for “crazed and demented teabaggers”. This is like the New Black Panthers case…not enough evidence on the tape.
Wills on May 27, 2010 at 12:41 PM
According to the lame stream media, it is only a mob if the people wave the flag of the United States, assmeble peacefully, are mostly middle aged white people and call themselves TEA Party Activists.
…
Otherwise racist violent lawbreaking terrorists are just exercising their rights.
Kuffar on May 27, 2010 at 12:54 PM
What I find revolting is that there were no squads of police with a paddy wagon telling them to disperse or go to jail…whether the thugs would have gladly gone or not is beside the point.
I guarantee you that you or I could do far, far less on our own property no less and have Deputy Fife driving up to read us the riot act and probably haul us off on some charge to be determined later, especially if we defied him/her.
Also, I’m pretty damn sure that if I were the one who pegged that officer in Arizona on the head with a water bottle they would have had me down within a minute, probably tazed, pepper sprayed and be on my belly with at least one knee on my neck.
Selective, PC policing.
