Barney Frank: Where’s Charles Djou’s birth certificate?
posted at 3:35 pm on May 26, 2010 by Allahpundit
No Hawaiian is above suspicion, my friends.
Tongue firmly in cheek, Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) on Tuesday afternoon called on reporters to demand to see the birth certificate of new Rep. Charles Djou (R-Hawaii).
As Djou (pictured here) was being sworn into office, Frank walked the hallway of the Speaker’s Lobby off the House floor calling on the media to “do your job” and review Djou’s papers.
I’m a Birther critic in good standing but I dig Tom Maguire’s reply to Frank: Djou should authorize Hawaii to release his long-form birth certificate, just to show how quickly and painlessly it can be done. Not in a million years will that happen — there’s no sense in gratuitously antagonizing Obama fans back in his home district, where he’ll have have a tough time getting reelected even under favorable circumstances — but I like the idea of Djou ambushing Frank during some press availability in the Capitol hallway. Just toss him the folder, hold up a finger, and say, “One week.”
Here’s the man himself in action this morning on FNC. He’s up again for election in November, of course, and if he survives that he’ll be facing armageddon with Obama at the top of the ticket in 2012. But there’s reason to Hope for no Change: According to Michael Barone, Hawaii has never voted out a congressional incumbent. Ever.

Come on… do it for the lulz… he has a reason to do it now that he has been taunted by Frank…

Not to mention, it’s perfectly legal for a naturalized citizen to be elected to any office other than the presidency. New England “intellect” fails again.

House incumbents in general have a 94% re-election rate. In fact, you’re more likely to defeat an incumbent Senator than Representative.

YYZ on May 26, 2010 at 3:50 PM
It depends.
On Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, Kumar calls Harold a Twinkie. Djou looks like he’s at least part Asian, so, that derogatory term might apply.
However, he’s Hawaiian, and the derogatory term I’ve heard from various Pacific Islanders is coconut.
Though, I’m sure that, in a pinch, are wonderfully open-minded and loving liberal brethren can just shout, “STOP ACTING WHITE!”.

Who’s cheek is Barney’s tongue in?
I’m sure Rep. Charles Djou birth certificate is right next to Obowma’s phony Connecticut social number. Yes, the SS card claiming Obowma is 120 years old and never lived there. Right under Obowma’s school records from Occidental College, Harvard transcripts, medical records, school records, loan documents, Chicago loan docs on the phony land sold by his neighbor, Tony Rezko, who was indicted, the 15 other social security cards Obowma has.
Oh, Rep. Djou should challenge Rep. Frank to show his birth certificate WHEN Barney Frank displays ALL documents and business dealings between Barney Frank and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

I wish that Djou would’ve whipped his Birth Certificate and said, “Right here, notice how it looks nothing like a Certificate of Live Birth?”
These are two completely different documents, one catagoerically states when, where, what(boy/girl) and who was attending, thyat would be a BC. Thgere are 4 different ways one can get a CoLB, 3 of 4 do not necessarily you actually be in Hawaii at the time of birth, this why the Hawaii of law allows you uptil the babies 1st birthyday to apply for it.
Just one of the interesting little tidbits in The Manchurian President, great book, I highly reccommend it.

I wish someone would question his CITIZENSHIP — NOT his birthplace. He would have a valid reason for whipping out his long form birth certificate and making it available to the press. The contrast with Obama would be obvious.
Mind you, I do NOT believe Obama was born anywhere but where he says he was (just about the only thing he’s said that I DO believe); but I worry that the birther movement could tarnish the reputations of sane conservatives, and Obama showing his BC would pretty much kill that.

Barney just doesn’t get it. There is a totally different constitutional requirement to be president than to hold any other office. I recognize that he did this one as satire on Obama’s credential questions but it is still pretty stupid.
duff65 on May 26, 2010 at 4:45 PM
It doesn’t matter where Djou was born. You can be a naturalized citizen and run for any office, except President. It only matters that he is a citizen of this country. That’s why it’s also important to determine where Obama was born, since it is unconstitutional for someone born as a citizen of another country to be President. Frank may have been trying to be “oh so very funny,” but the fact remains that we still don’t know exactly where Obama was born. I’m not necessarily a Birther, but the fact that he is reluctant to produce a birth certificate, student records, and any writing he did prior to Bill Ayers penning his books for him, is just a little more than suspicious.

AllahPundit, you probably thought he wouldn’t get elected to begin with. Now that he has, are you saying that by now until the next election or 2012 things are going to get better under Obama that the people of Djou’s region will find something to reverse their recent vote? Djou hasn’t even started and you’re already counting him out? The people voted for him for a reason not a fluke. I see nothing in the woodwork, BP included, that will make anyone think the Obama and his plans will be an improvement over their recently elected politician Mr. Djou.
Please keep your pessimism to a dull roar.
