Patrick Kennedy: Arizona’s law is like the Trail of Tears or something
posted at 9:04 pm on May 24, 2010 by Allahpundit
Via CNS. Normally I’d be annoyed, but considering the source, how seriously can you take this? He too, of course, insists that racial profiling is imminent even though (a) the law expressly prohibits it and (b) similar laws haven’t led to profiling, but oh well. Too bad CNS’s reporter didn’t press him to explain whether he’s worried about American citizens of Latino descent being profiled or whether he’s fretting about illegals being profiled too. If it’s just the former, fair enough. Anyone seriously think it’s just the former, though?
I’m giving you two clips, actually; the second, via Freedom’s Lighthouse, also has to do with a Massachusetts pol and illegal immigration (I know, I know, Patches represents Rhode Island, but we’re talking pedigree here) but the trail of tears in this case is a bit different. Make sure you watch long enough to see what the suspect told cops when he was arrested.

Kennedy and the rest of the Progressive Liberal twits can push this line of BS all they want, the people are not buying it one bit. This will not end well for Democrats, nor will this end well for Mexicans in general.

You know what? I’m all for sending patches back to Mexico. Did you know that they are producing 80% pure heroin there now? Well, of course, that has nothing to do with Patches…just saying. Tempting, eh Patches?

(a) is an old talking point, and I always liked it because it’s sort of cute in its naivete. But is (b) going to be a talking point now as well? Seems odd seeing as how dissimilar the laws are. How could the Virginia law lead to racial profiling when it requires police to inquire as to immigration after every arrest? There’s no “reasonable suspicion” standard to abuse, and there’s no citizen suit provision to incentivize police departments to pull over and deport as many Hispanics as possible. Apples and oranges.

Patrick Kennedy does know that the Cherokee “Trail of Tears” were living in what is the present day United States right?
Ask an Apache/Comanche, they will tell you the people from the south have invaded before.
Unfortunately we don’t have the Apache on the war path anymore….they used to raid, what is south of the modern day Texas southern border.
North American History, didn’t start with colonization. All anyone needs to do is ask an American Indian, and they will tell you there was plenty of fighting over territory before Europeans, and Asians ever visited this continent.
Bad Eagle -Conservative American Indian – Hey Patrick, ask David Yeagley if he is Mexican LOL!

Frankly, I think this is an insult to Native First Peoples in this country.
Patrick Kennedy is most likely totally clueless as to what the Trail of Tears means to someone like from either the Cheyenne or Cherokee Nation.
Personally speaking, it was people like Kennedy who over a hundred years or so ago created events like the Trail of Tears!
This man is absolutely shameless and an insult to intelligence!

Asked to comment about Story #2, Patrick went on to say:
“As you know, we Kennedys have a long, proud history of fighting drunk driving.”
He then threw up and collapsed into a heap on the floor.

right2bright on May 24, 2010 at 9:30 PM
You know, there’s lots of hispanics still here in Oklahoma, and I haven’t seen or heard of any dragnets or anything. I will say that after my husband’s vehicle was hit by a guy who turned out to be an illegal, he actually got arrested instead of simply ticketed on the spot.
But I promise nobody was profiling the guy or following him before the wreck.
funky chicken on May 24, 2010 at 9:30 PM
The fact that profiling is prohibited in the AZ law. It is nto a talking point idiot.
CWforFreedom on May 24, 2010 at 9:32 PM
Yup, we’d hate to hurt brown people’s feelings. Better to let illegals ram into cars/people going 100+ MPH when they’re blitzed out of their mind, because that’s fun for the whole family.
Good Solid B-Plus on May 24, 2010 at 9:32 PM

So now when an illegal is deported after being arrested on some other matter, their trip back to Mexico is called a Trail of Tears?
Let’s do some more:
Potato Famine: when you are sitting in a restaurant waiting for a refill on your fries.
Boston Massacre: when your sports team travels to Boston and loses.
Revolutionary War: when your kids are fighting over which CD to listen to in the car.

Gee, maybe Patches can join Meggie-mac at the Daily Beast? He can be the Royale…with cheese to her Macness. (The Kennedys aren’t real royalty but hey, you work with what you got ;)
OT: I went to check it out but couldn’t get to the site http://www.goldline.com during the O’Reilly-Anthony Weiner discussion about Goldline tonight — routine maintenance, or a spike in volume? All I got was a “Drupal offline” page.
Is anybody on the major blogs following this story? It’s also time for a gold story or two, especially one on the DOJ investigation of JP Morgan for silver market manipulation, runs on gold coins in parts of the EU, etc. What’s going on? Haven’t seen much stateside coverage, though the stories are supposedly in play overseas.

Let’s see, is there any atrocity in human history that the Arizona law has not been compared to? Slavery? The Holocaust? Tiananmen Square? The Trail of Tears? 9/11? Maybe next week the liberals will start making comparisons involving people like John Wayne Gacy and Charles Manson, or maybe the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs.
I think the lefties have reached the point of diminishing returns here.

The Guv’s aide in the 2nd vid was just pathetic, the level of disconnect between liberals and reality is very nearly a psychosis. At what point can we begin to consider the very real possibility of some sort of dementia? How long till America at large begins to recognize that this condition should render liberals unfit to serve in the capacity of dog-catcher, let alone national security?

Oh, but it gets even better, further down the survey has the strongly approve/disapprove ratio of Obama at -18%. This isis the critical stat to watch, the people who feel… “meh, I kinda sorta approve/disapprove of the job he’s doing” are not the ones that are votes you can count on election day. I’m sure glad the Democrats are sending out their deep thinkers on this one. When is the liberal press going to be embarassed? Now they’re thinking just like Kennedy and we all know how dangerous that can be. It’s about time our “free press” started thinking for themselves, rather than repeating all the Democrat Talking Points. It’s obvious what the playbook is, get those Hispanic voters all upset. Is it working yet?

It is said that behind every great fortune there is a crime. This is certainly true as regards the Kennedy family, although unlike many such families, they have paid the price. The culmination is the drugged-out degenerate Patrick, who like both his mother and father, is a pathetic drunk and a complete intellectual pigmy. Like Patrick, the family now resides in the proverbial gutter, their great fortune dissipated by wretched excess! Hopefully, we have heard the last from these reeking scumbags, none of whom would have risen to the level of a Mayor Curley ward-healer, without their ill got gains.

There are leftists here who brag that they don’t know Mexico’s laws and that anyone here could accidenly end up in jail if they didn’t have their papers on them when visiting Mexico.
