Quotes of the day

posted at 10:51 pm on May 11, 2010 by Allahpundit

Aasif Mandvi, a self-described “liberal Muslim” and the “senior Islamic correspondent” for Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, said on air after the “South Park” threats that it would upset him to see the Prophet Muhammad depicted in a cartoon. But, he added: “Here’s what’s more upsetting. Someone, in the name of a faith that I believe in, threatening another person for doing it.”

But after the failed Times Square terror attack, “The Daily Show” asked Mandvi not to comment further on the matter, according to his spokesman. In fact, reps for the networks and television shows reached for comment on this article, including Comedy Central, Cartoon Network, FOX, NBC, and CBS, either failed to respond or asked to speak on background for fear of retribution.

And it isn’t just comedians on fake newscasts who are being muzzled. One writer for a scripted drama fold Fox411.com that in one of his show’s final episodes, there had been a minor plot point involving a Muslim extremist. Last week it was removed and the script was rewritten, he said.

But, in fact, we have no assurance that Muslim women put on the burqa or don the veil as a matter of their own choice. A huge amount of evidence goes the other way. Mothers, wives, and daughters have been threatened with acid in the face, or honor-killing, or vicious beating, if they do not adopt the humiliating outer clothing that is mandated by their menfolk. This is why, in many Muslim societies, such as Tunisia and Turkey, the shrouded look is illegal in government buildings, schools, and universities. Why should Europeans and Americans, seeking perhaps to accommodate Muslim immigrants, adopt the standard only of the most backward and primitive Muslim states? The burqa and the veil, surely, are the most aggressive sign of a refusal to integrate or accommodate. Even in Iran there is only a requirement for the covering of hair, and I defy anybody to find any authority in the Quran for the concealment of the face…

So it’s really quite simple. My right to see your face is the beginning of it, as is your right to see mine. Next but not least comes the right of women to show their faces, which easily trumps the right of their male relatives or their male imams to decide otherwise. The law must be decisively on the side of transparency. The French are striking a blow not just for liberty and equality and fraternity, but for sorority too.

Horowitz: If you don’t condemn Hamas, obviously you support it. Case closed. I have had this experience at UC Santa Barbara, where there were 50 members of the Muslim Students Association sitting right in the rows there. And throughout my hour talk I kept asking them, will you condemn Hizbollah and Hamas. And none of them would. And then when the question period came, the president of the Muslim Students Association was the first person to ask a question. And I said, ‘Before you start, will you condemn Hizbollah?’ And he said, ‘Well, that question is too complicated for a yes or no answer.’ So I said, ‘Okay, I’ll put it to you this way. I am a Jew. The head of Hizbollah has said that he hopes that we will gather in Israel so he doesn’t have to hunt us down globally. For or Against it?

MSA member: For it.

The secret simply will not keep
For America is losing sleep
It’s time to break the spell
Who is Allen West and what is he up to, do tell?

Rumor has it he’s a cannoneer
He’s a reckless buccaneer
I hear he carries several guns with many clips
He’s the annihilator of Islam creeps with information on their lying at his fingertips

They say he’s nearly seven feet tall
And yet quite graceful…all in all
I’m told there are lightning bolts when he walks
And thunder when he talks

Is he vulgarian or sleek?
Just what does he seek?
I hear he’s steely as you please
I hear he’s really Japanese

He may be shrewd
He may be rude
Ah well, it’s hard to tell
Who is this Allen West, do tell?

The Muslims may think he comes from hell
Or maybe just from somewhere around the dell
But he will be here and he will be there
You could see him giving Islam Hell most any time and most anywhere

He meddles with the Islamic Devolution
Stomping them mightily throughout each week
Spoiling every Imam’s lying elocution
La, what cheek!

itsnotaboutme on May 11, 2010 at 11:53 PM

Oh… really? Even the peaceful Muslims from those countries? We’ve seen what happens to some Muslims that have been brought up in sane nations… they still join The Cause if they feel like they need an outlet for their lack of love or something. The sane approach would be to limit the number of Muslim immigrants.

As for Muslims that are being persecuted… uh, sometimes the persecuted Muslims aren’t so much better than the persecuting Muslims. Iraq would have many examples of this.

I have many missionary friends who have gone to Muslim nations with the Gospel. None of them have been murdered or tortured. Far from it, all of them–as far as I can remember–have been treated very well by the vast majority of their “hosts.” I have one friend who runs a very openly Christian children’s center within a hundred yards of a mosque, & the people have left him alone for 19 yrs because he cares for their kids in substantive ways.

Beware the Mohmoh bird, and shun
The frumious sirasnatch!

Colonel West took his vorpal sword in hand
Long time the Korxome foe he sought
So rested he by an old oak tree
And stood awhile in thought

And as in thought he stood
The Allahwock’s Mohmoh bird seeking to put the West to sword and flame
Came whiffling through the tugly wood
And burbled as it came!

One, two!
Red, White and Blue!
The Colonel’s vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left the Allahwock’s Mohmoh bird dead, and with its head
He went gallantphing back

One of the common elements to all Islamic schools of thought is jihad, understood as the obligation of the Ummah to conquer and subdue the world in the name of Allah and rule it under Sharia law.

It’s like the HA post earlier about knife attacks in China. Yes, they’re awful, & there are too many, but in a nation of more than a billion there are going to be wicked people.
9/11 & all of the other headline-grabbing events were perpetrated a by a relatively small number of Islamofascists.
I’m not denying that there are nations with heavy concentrations of wackos. But look at Iran, Indonesia, the Philippines, & many others. There are hundreds of millions of Muslims who love us, like us, or don’t know enough to care one way or another about us.

itsnotaboutme on May 12, 2010 at 12:21 AM

I cannot begin to explain what would make a parent teach their child to hate. I will never understand a mother having pride in their young son being a martyr. Children taught that hate will never doubt the right of it. I don’t have an answer for breaking the hatred for Jews in the Middle East. I am not even sure there is an answer. I know without a doubt, that even if the Palestinians were given land, there would be no end to the hatred.

Great News: Huge Mosque Going Up Near WTC Site
———————————————-

A proposal to build a mosque steps from Ground Zero received the support of a downtown committee despite some loved ones of 9/11 victims finding it offensive.

The 13-story mosque and Islamic cultural center was unanimously endorsed by the 12-member Community Board 1’s financial district committee.

Do you have to teach a baby to be self-centered? Do you have to teach a toddler to steal cookies? Do you have to teach a 1st-grader to lie? Or a tween to gossip?
Human nature is sinful. Kids need parents to civilize them. If they don’t, we need governments to corral them.

Do me a favor:

Click on this (it’s a map of world religions)

http://www.emsc.nysed.gov/ciai/socst/grade3/geoimages/Image12.gif

Notice all the pretty colors. Lots of different colors, with different religions, and different major sects of religions, all around the world.

Lots of borders of different colors, wouldn’t you say? I mean, there must be hundreds of different borders/lines/combinations, right?

Now, let’s focus in on the green area — Islam. Let’s take a world trip around the BORDER of islam.

West Africa? Armed uprisings. Massive attempts at imposing sharia

Nigeria? the north of the country is in a de facto war with the Christian south. riots and church burnings in the middle of the country.

Chad? darfur spillover

Sudan? not much here, only, oh, um, a 30 year civil war that killed 4 million and continued practice of taking black christians as actual slaves

Ethiopia? militant muslim minority

Somalia? sharia hell. been at war with a half-dozen neighbors in the last 3 years alone.

Tired yet? Let’s move up to Europe quickly!

Bosnia? ’nuff said

Kosovars in Albania or Kosovo? warring until we sent troops there

Turkey and Greece? Turkey and Armenia? “pay no attention to those mass graves….”

the Muslim Caucasus? Chechnya? Dagestan? Inguisheta? crap, just google “beslan school” for some of their handywork. crap, check google news TODAY on bombings.

Muslims in Central Asia? Uzbeks and Tajiks? ever hear of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan? Bush named them specifically in his speech the week after 9/11. And the Uzbeks thank us to this day.

Western China? bomb-throwing Uighurs

India-Pakistan? Jammu, Kashmir, etc…. bullets fly back and forth almost daily, as both govts try to keep it a ‘low level fight’

Not done yet!

SE Asia: Southern Thailand? massive muslim insurgency in the skinny part.

Philippines? just stay out of the south, they’ve been killing Christians (amereican missionaries included) for a decade or more.

East Timor? the slaughter of them by indonesian muslims was so bad the UN stepped in and gave them independence

and of course, how could we forget…

ISRAEL? enemies on all sides, fences and walls are necessary just to insure they can eat at a cafe without getting blown up.

And don’t get me started on the inter-islam borders, the Shia-SUnni slaughters, the “youre doing it the wrong way, you Kurds!” death-fests…

You see, the problem isn’t whether “some Muslims are nice to me” or “some Muslims like bin Laden”

The problem is that ISLAM ITSELF is INCOMPATIBLE with the REST OF THE WORLD>

It’s the only religion that refuses to play well with others.

Try it out.

Do the same ething i just did for any other faith, or sect.

Try it.

Draw a line around them and tell me where you see mass violence, or carnage, or instability. Let me know when you find masses of Protestants in Brownsville, Texas slaughtering “Papists” in Matomoros, Mexico.

The PRoblem is ISLAM.

It’s ideology = violence and military conquest.

Nothing more.

ITS.

IN.

THE.

KORAN.

(yknow… the book written by that MILITARY GENERAL muhammed, the guy that CONQUERED A PENINSULA with an ARMY? and set up a ‘muslim government’?)

Look to the source. Islam = Violence. TRUTH!

Cheshire Cat on May 12, 2010 at 12:50 AM

Folks, let’s be serious…there is no such thing as a rational muslim. If a person truly follows the teachings of the mass murdering mohammed, they’re just crazy or evil or both. You can’t say most muslims don’t think like this. If they didn’t, they’d be sickened by the founder of their political ideology of death disguised as a religion.

If a serial killer started a religion tomorrow, we’d call his followers evil. If a serial killer starts a religion in the 7th century, we call his followers muslims. And we’re told that not all of them are bad and that we are to embrace their views as legit.

No way.

I have never seen a child that hated or had racist beliefs that had not had those beliefs modeled by an adult. Children are born blank slates and if raised in a loving, supportive, tolerant home, will go out in the world and model those behaviors. There is something to be said for free will and the proverbial bad seed, as exceptions. Most of the time, I can look at a child and tell you about their parents.

Sure, their parents influence their lives; however, all children have done bad things. All adults have done bad things. These bad things were done because a choice was made, but where did that bit of evil come from? I’m sticking with Paul on this one.

I knoiw that it may seem crude and unseemly but, Mchiavelli who was somewhat prescient on matters of insurrection, infiltraion and the art of maintaining one’s political space was quite clear on the only effective manner of dealing with seditous elements seeking to establish the reign of a new government, or Ummah if you will.

We the west after the enlightenment, thought such measures were no longer needed as we in the west had moved beyond the necesities of such draconian measures. But he was dealing with a medieval mindset that in his times where no other measures were adequate to deal with. In the barbarity of the times (1469-1527)confronting enemies of his age, lesser measures simply would not do.

We are dealing with a mindset of an of even less refined philosophy (570-622) where possibly Machiavelli’s harsh finality in dealing with enemies may well fall short of effectiveness, indeed failure to adopy the needed dedication carry out inhumane measures to meet squarely on the field the resolve and commitment of the Islamic hordes led to the fall of Constantinople in 1453.

As distasteful and contrary to modern western priciples as as it may be, until we reconize what its going to take to maintain our survival and implement, we cede the field to the enemy who is committed to more drastic measures than we can stomach. Like Walter E. Kurtz, to be effective on assuring the continuation of the western construct, we will have to embrace the brutality of our enemies lest we perish.

If we the west are to survive, as much as I wish it weren’t sso, I beleive Machiavelli’s mindset and tactics are all that will save us from thye fate that is Islamofacisim.

After watching the video again the stupidity of the MSA representative unfolds like layers. Besides admitting it would be easier to destroy all the Jews if they all were in Israel, she really thought she was going to get Horowitz by proving there is no connection between jihadists and the MSA because Horowitz couldn’t produce a canceled check from Hamas or Al-Qaeda written out to them or something. That was her grand strategy. They probably had meetings going over it, telling themselves they were really going to show that Jew bastard. I mean that’s taking stupid to a whole new level.
