Nuance: 31% of Birthers approve of Obama’s job performance
posted at 6:02 pm on May 7, 2010 by Allahpundit
Alternate headline: “Birther movement surprisingly bipartisan.” Think that narrative-scrambling detail will be mentioned in coverage of that darned wingnut fringe going forward?
Enjoy this now because it’s straight down the memory hole tomorrow.

They missed an obvious follow-up question. Some of the lefties who think he was born abroad are doubtless ignorant of the natural-born requirement in the Constitution and thus see no political wrinkle in their answer, which is fair enough. I wonder how many of them aren’t ignorant, though, and are willing to look the other way notwithstanding their own belief that he was illegitimately elected. Surely there can’t be many liberals who are that ruthless. Can there?
While you ponder that, enjoy this semi-related clip of Tingles wondering why prominent Republicans won’t denounce kooky theories circulated by, ahem, “that large man on radio.” Click the image to watch.

who cares? In 6 months 60-80 house seats will become GOP, let the left talk to the left about how right they are.

I’m just guessing, but is Pataki’s answer, “Hey, I’ll say or do anything you want me to say or do.”
myrenovations on May 7, 2010 at 6:06 PM
Nah, I’ll take your word for it.
Disturb the Universe on May 7, 2010 at 6:11 PM
I saw that matthws clip live.
I wanted to scream. He twisted everything, and jumped to huge conclusions. Rush said something about Obama thinking that America owed non-whites of the world reparations, and matthews said “rush says obama is doing too much for american blacks!!”, repeat, etc.
Also i loved that he screamed about “DONT SAY THE WORD REGIME” — matthews himself did that for bush.
Finally, i thought it hilarious that Matthews says the gop is crazy because of birthers — while democrats believe that:
-Bush caused 9/11
-Bush stole 2000 election
-Bush stole 2004 election
-350 Vietnam vets lied about John kerry for fun
JOKE!
battleoflepanto1571 on May 7, 2010 at 6:14 PM
Do you mean Rush or Beck?
I listen to Rush every day, as I have for 17 years, and he spends no time at all on “birther” theories.
I don’t know about Beck, because I don’t listen to him much, but I don’t think he dwells on the birther issue, either.
Rush has been making fun of Chris Matthews, though.

Hardball Award? Some of us old gun nuts remember when hardball referred to a .45 ACP FMJ.
fourdeucer on May 7, 2010 at 6:16 PM
How did a rabid, raspy, screechy, slurping fool like Mathews
ever get a broadcast media microphone in the first place?
He seems to get more hysterical by the day. He sounds like someone alternating between binges of caffeine and booze, and he seems to think that he’s the voice of reason.
That show should be called Highball.

I don’t get it…What am I missing?
All I see is that 31% of Repubs are birfers, no?

31% of Birthers approve of Obama’s job performance

I have a serious question-Just who and where are all these millions of birthers? I see them on the intertubes, but IRL, I don’t know of a single one. And I live in that racist, Confederate flag-loving metropolis of Georgia.

Many lefties believe he was born abroad and that is sophisticated. They don’t take it any further. For them the world is a one-world, with no borders. Borders are for teethless “bible-thumpers and gun-toters”, with trucks, who marry theri siblings.
Mr. Tingles calls anyone kooky…mh, kookyness is indignant.

You have to admit that’s funny.

There is comment bait, and then there is no thanks I’ll take a pass.

At this point, I could care less about where he was born. That he was born — and presumably not beamed down from Farakhan’s Mother Wheel, which I’m not ruling out — is perhaps more troubling.
In any case, his education after being born is the real source of the problem.
TXUS on May 7, 2010 at 6:36 PM
I can’t watch right now but I am NEVER impressed with mainstream Republicans answers when it comes to pundits. All they want is plausible deniability, they don’t care about the truth. PLEASE STUPID REPUBLICANS, DON’T FEEL COMPELLED TO ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE SAID.
Cindy Munford on May 7, 2010 at 6:38 PM
Understandable. I plan to kill a few tonight. They have it coming.
In the pdf, they don’t have it charted out.
And check out this weird comment (first one at the link)

Pataki’s a Republican?
angryed on May 7, 2010 at 6:41 PM
So Obama was born in the U.S. and loves his country so much, he wants to destroy it from within? I’d sure hate to see what someone who was born outside our shores would do, if they got the chance to run the country.
Thank God for the constitution. Now if we’d just use it, and apply it more often….we might be in better shape today.

“…that large man on radio…”
Chrissy, you’re a lot fatter than he is now (especially the intensely useless part attached to your shoulders).

I’m surprised that 31% of any demographic except welfare recipients approves of Obama’s performance.

Only ABC/WashedupPost would try to poll “birthers.”
Leftist tools.

Chris – Nobody watches your show, so don’t get too tingly about any Republican elected officials calling you.

It is no joking matter that there is no such thing as free speech in Islamic countries. There is no punditry allowed. It follows therefore that everyone who approves of the oxymoronic appellation allahpundit is a moron. The obligatory work product is alas predictable, inshallahornot.
Basilsbest on May 7, 2010 at 8:02 PM
I guess hardcore birthers will ostracize those folks as Binos.
That is hilarious. He shouldn’t be Prez, but other than that, he is kicking ass.
Southernblogger on May 7, 2010 at 8:12 PM
Where Obama was born is irrelevant.
What he bears is.
Barry The Childish is the bearer of a progressive PC virus weakening America and encouraging the jihadists.
His past is prologue.
His present is the problem.
The gift that keeps… taking.
profitsbeard on May 7, 2010 at 8:18 PM
His present wouldn’t be a problem if the media had done their job and scrutinized his past
Basilsbest on May 7, 2010 at 8:25 PM
I think he’ll admit he needs to get back out there and explain the fundamental change to marxism a little better.
ontherocks on May 7, 2010 at 8:25 PM
It got scrutinized and deleted. Kinda strange, you’d almost think… nah.
ontherocks on May 7, 2010 at 8:29 PM
Goes to show either what BS all of these polls are one hand, and how clueless many Americans are on the other.
They can ask how many of people like sex and it will probably be 56% for, 30% against and 14% “I don’t know”.

I am so sick of being censored here.

I said back in January that the nation is facing a serious battle for the rule of law. Read what I said – and why I said the “birther” issue is really about the rule of law, consider what’s happened in response to the Arizona law to require law enforcement to actually enforce the law, look at the links showing how Obama’s Toyota Regime has trampled the rule of law time after time after time…..
and then tell me that I’m a crazy alarmist for believing that the rule of law matters – even when it comes to putting an illegal communist immigrant in the White House because nobody was allowed to do even the mundane check for a green card.
I’ll see if the censors here allow me to post this one…
justincase on May 7, 2010 at 9:07 PM
We should get our states to pass laws REQUIRING a REAL birth certificate with a signature from a WITNESS TO THE BIRTH, or Obama won’t be allowed on the 2012 ballot. THAT is what we should strive for as an outcome concerning this issue.
There is movement in this regard in several states. We need to get behind them and PUSH!
DiogenesLamp on May 7, 2010 at 9:34 PM
No you’re not.
Both of them need to do some bodyweight or weight-resistance work. They’re a matching set of pin-cushions.
The Race Card on May 7, 2010 at 10:13 PM
How the heck do you know if I’m sick of being censored, Race Card?
I had a post explaining that the HDOH has confirmed in 2 different ways through official communications that the Factcheck COLB is a forgery. I gave a summary of the most critical information from my blog. I originally thought it was the link to my blog that was being censored but that got through. I don’t know what the key word is that they won’t let me say here.
But I am absolutely tired of having to fight this kind of crap just about everywhere I try to post. The worst place I’ve encountered is Fox News.
justincase on May 7, 2010 at 10:20 PM
I was just joking — implying that you’re not sick of it.
I don’t know what you consider to be the difference between censorship and blog-moderation. But judging from your remarks, I can only imagine the emails with which you have pestered Allahpundit.
Oh man! Your reading your comment was the most unintentional hilarity I have experienced outside of the bedroom in a long time.
Also, if you post it to your own blog then you would not have to whine about other sources denying your access to their servers to foam from your mouth.
The Race Card on May 7, 2010 at 10:39 PM
Rush isn’t that large anymore. He’s one lean, mean Alpha male. Believe me…conservative women can always sense the alphas and beta males among us.
We like the alphas. Always. (Todd Palin, anyone?)
:-)
Grace_is_sufficient on May 8, 2010 at 8:40 AM
I “pestered” Hot Air with one e-mail giving the basic data we know from the HDOH communications – which is precisely what I tried to do right before I posted my test comment to see if my IP address or screen name was blocked from posting.
They can refuse any comment they want to, as can Fox, the Wall Street Journal, etc. But it reveals a lot that they won’t allow posts that only state facts which are documented. It shows they are not censoring me or my style of comment – just the basic factual information.
That should be scary.
I’m sorry you weren’t able to comprehend my statements. That’s the only reason I can think of that a person would find it hilarious to learn that government bureaucrats are covering up forgery.
