Video: SWAT team outside Obama event beats back geriatric tea-party hordes
posted at 8:20 pm on April 28, 2010 by Allahpundit
Via Sharp Elbows. This isn’t a SWAT team, actually, just local cops in riot gear, but it is the first time I’ve ever seen police in armor do a jaunty little parade down the street when responding to an event. I assure you, when the NYPD rolls up in helmets and shields, they’re all business.
But then, maybe “teabaggers” as crazed as these needed a demonstration to show ‘em who’s boss.
The crowd carried signs with messages ranging from “Give Us Liberty Not Debt” to yellow flags saying “Don’t Tread On Me.”
Urged on by people with megaphones, the crowd shouted slogans, among them “Remember in November” and “You work for us.”…
There were a few tense moments when the crowd moved west down York toward Third Street after the president’s motorcade arrived. A Secret Service agent asked the crowd to move back across the street to the north side.
When the crowd didn’t move and began singing “God Bless, America” and the national anthem, Quincy Deputy Police Chief Ron Dreyer called for members of the Mobile Field Force to walk up the street.
The cops were there for only 15 minutes but that was long enough for comedy gold. If you think the video’s funny, wait until you see Gateway Pundit’s photos. Calling all cars: Be on the lookout for an insurrectionist with blue hair…

Theres gonna be a Beer Summit, with all the States’
Tea Party Patriots going to the White House to hammer
out the rules of engagement!!
Which will be interesting, because most of the Tea Party
Leaders from individual States will be grandma motherly
figures like the one that was on Letterman!!
I would imagine then, that FLOTUS would be serving Tea,
however seeing grandmas lit up on beer, discussing the
future of America with Obama might lead to a Swat Team
emergency as Hopey runs for his life, with irate Grandmas
in tow, running through the White House!—-(Snark).

That’s my point. Those who allowed these officers to be USED like this as props in the democrat party’s fake narrative are an embarrassment to their profession, and they should be named and ridiculed. It continuously amazes me how the democrat party can turn people into such shameless, soulless hacks. Every thing that party touches comes away from the experience with a thick layer of filth and degradation.

…a slow moving bus was seen departing Shady Acres Assisted Living Facility today. Onboard were several members of a radical militia armed with shiny metallic ambulatory devices that they leaned menacing upon in the vicinity of tear gas wielding police. Overheard during the melee one officer quipped, “Don’t make us use the gas on you!” One elderly woman heckled back, “Gas? You call that shite gas? You ain’t been in a bedroom with Harold over there have you? Now that’s gas boys, thats gas!”
ted c on April 28, 2010 at 9:33 PM
You know, those elderly people could be sitting at home watching Jeopardy and waiting to die, but they go out and stand up for what they believe in. The police go to work every day and strive to create a safe and peaceful city where people can raise their children or enjoy their old age. And then Obama comes to town and screws everything up. I’m sure those old people didn’t like being followed by the riot police any more than those riot police liked being the pawn in some stupid political game. The police chief should be fired……… and so should Obama.

tetriskid on April 28, 2010 at 10:09 PM
Whose idea was this show of force or show of farce?
Police chief? Mayor? Perhaps it was a provocation to test the crowd reaction. A lot of police chiefs are appointees. The chiefs who owe their jobs to a Democratnik mayor could be prodded into being more aggressive toward crowd control. Time will tell.
Police who cannot march, shouldn’t. They look clownish.

Oh, c’mon. You made a great post and ruined it with that silly crap.
AUINSC on April 28, 2010 at 10:11 PM
you have got to be kidding me.
I want to know the name of the police commander, the duty officer, the chain of command through which this order for these fellas to a) kit up in full battle rattle, b) form up like fricking storm troopers and c) march down that street.
Whoever those people are in that town better connect all of those dots like toot sweet. Who gave those orders. The police officers themselves can be given a pass, they’re just following orders, but who the hell gave those orders, we want names, we want names of every swinging richard that made that happen.

Sorry, I am sick of grandmothers being called racists and bigots every minute of every day.
“I was following orders” is not an excuse to parade around in FULL riot gear. The chief of police needs to pull his head out.
These people were acting peacefully. They were not throwing rocks at police like the illegals in AZ. There is a give and take between the public and law enforcement.
