Obama plays “race card” in call for 2010 elections?
posted at 11:36 am on April 26, 2010 by Ed Morrissey
Drudge has this clip highlighted with the headline, “OBAMA PLAYS RACE CARD” in bold letters at the top of the page. Ben Smith at Politico goes with a less-provocative description of “unusual demographic frankness” in describing this effort from the DNC to get the troops rallied for the midterm elections. Both descriptions seem more ironic after watching this wan, mailed-in effort from Barack Obama that reminds one more of his video extolling Martha Coakley’s virtues to skeptical Massachusetts voters:
The Democratic National Committee this morning released this clip of the president rallying the troops, if rather coolly, for 2010. Obama’s express goal: “reconnecting” with the voters who voted for the first time in 2008, but who may not plan to vote in the lower-profile Congressional elections this year.
Obama speaks with unusual demographic frankness about his coalition in his appeal to “young people, African-Americans, Latinos, and women who powered our victory in 2008 [to] stand together once again.”
Well, at least we know who the DNC doesn’t want around in the midterms by subtraction: older white and Asian men. At least, that’s a fair interpretation of the President’s otherwise dull speech to the faithful.
It’s not exactly playing a “race card,” which usually means some claim of either victimization or super-credibility for a particular argument, but it’s a little more frank than usual about the motives of political organizations. No one doubts that both parties approach electoral politics on the basis of demographics; both Democrats and Republicans make quite a show of it, especially when talking to groups that find their basis on ethnicity or religion. What they normally don’t do is frame it in such an exclusionary way as Obama does in this video. Is this election really dependent on overwhelming the demographics that he leaves out of his appeal?
In a word, yes. Obama won’t top this ticket, and with his approval ratings heading steadily south, it’s questionable whether he would help or hurt the national Democratic ticket anyway. As Smith notes, he needs that surge from 2008 to reappear this year, but Obama’s really addressing the wrong groups if he wants that to happen. His big problem is that independents have peeled away from the Democrats — and this isn’t exactly the way to bring them back into the fold.

I recently heard that the String Theory of Matter predicts that there are many parallel universes. If true, then I must be in one of those alternate universes. How do I know this? Well, in my home universe, no Presidet of the United States would ever speak to his fellow countrymen like this. So therefore, I must be in an alternate universe.

There is a strong push to paint all conservatives as “teabaggers”, who are painted as racists, Nazi’s, radicals, etc. I don’t know how we can overcome the onslaught. The left is successful in painting us as all these names with the MSM taking up the same mantra and repeating it ad naseum until all the people who only listen to the MSM are brainwashed. We can’t do that because the media repeats nothing we point out about the left. I read about a sports announcer talking about Tim Tebow at his draft party, saying there were no black people there and it looked like a bunch of Nazi’s. That is beneath dispicable. But all the invective out there about conservatives gives them free rein (in their mind) to toss out crap like this. I believe it is dangerous. (Rush is talking about this now). This nation is being divided on purpose.

The Left wants to make Hispanics a permanent constituency like Blacks.
They’re going to roll “reform” out again for the mid-terms to make the Right take the bait and demagogue. He isn’t helping AZ to force their hand to make a legitimate move they can then say, “hey look at those racists.”
Of course Sharpton and other black leftists will beat this drum. It’s not about Immigration or Race. It’s about votes. Republicans really bleeped themselves in 2005 on this.

Someone may have already said this, but this may be not so much a matter of getting votes for 2010 as identifying “us” and “them” for an us vs. them showdown in 2012. In other words, he’s sort of claiming ownership of blacks, hispanics, young people, and women.
As an old white man, I’ve got “they came for the young; but I was not young, so I said nothing; then they came…” running through my mind. I say we liberate all of these folks.

Pretty desperate. “Get the white boys before they get you! Vote Democrat.” So, when Obama and the Dems lose this November will we have civil war? Will all the girls and non-whites rise up and lynch all of us white males? How is Obama any different than Bull Connor or the KKK? Obama is for tax segregation (white men work and pay taxes to be given to everyone else) and he wants white men who are successful financially to be second class citizens/tax slaves with fewer rights than women and non-whites.

As far as I see it, that about sums up the person fomenting hate is the guy you love. These are the young people that are basically paying a surcharge for their new government only student loans to the tune of 1800.00 to pay for Obamacare. These are the young people, whose parents are out of work -unemployed or foreclosed upon, and they depend on them for their sustenance? Those are the young people he is rallying? To fully appreciate this video you have to remember that it is part of a coordinated strategy to paint tea-partiers at racists. Left unsaid (for now) is Obama’s belief that he needs the minority votes to cancel out the effect of the tea partiers and thus he has to frame it as minorities protecting themselves against the racist of machinations of the tea party goers.

At least now I know that to support Nobama’s ideas of change, I should try to persuade Asian Americans and Polynesian Americans and even Hawai’ian Americans not to participate in our electoral process.
Let’s face it: until only recently (meanign in my lifetime, which began in the mid-60s), white America has been ambivalent to allowing the Other into the electoral process. How sad that it is that supposedly enlightened Democrats are the ones wishing to continue the failed policy of racial identification as being the precursor to legitimate public advocacy. “We the People” means everyone, even if our Founding Fathers didn’t really equate the phrase to non-Anglo-Saxons.
We’re better than this. In fact, Americans as a whole are better than Obama.

Many of the moderate and far left Dems not planning to support the Dems in upcoming elections for a variety of reasons. It is unfortunate that they can’t see the ‘teaparty’ movement for what it is — a cry for rational gov’t — instead of the LSM meme that it is a Republican wave. Today’s email –
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to an electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of folks such as those who made him their president.

It doesn’t bother me to have some clueless rube accuse me of being a racist. I’ve grown so weary of baseless, groundless, feckless accusations against my character as a result of my believing in self determination that it has all morphed into so much “white” background noise.
People who can see their way clear to anonymously sling arrows at me without the foggiest notion of who I am, where I’ve been, or what I’ve done lack even the most fundamental aspects of emotional development requisite for intelligent discourse. They offer nothing of value, they bring nothing but irreverence to the table, they piss and moan when they don’t get their way or perceive that others haven’t embraced the magnificence of their self promoted pertinence.
When someone lacks the ability to intelligently debate or argue the merits of a philosophical position, one can either leave the decision making to the adults – or, as we have seen here, one can default to childish tactics regurgitating the dogma of projectionists and in the process, prove themselves to be guilty of the very charge leveled at others.
Race baiting war lords have gained credibility only because the genuine racists have given them the power in failed and transparent attempts at assuaging their own misguided guilt. This exercise is profoundly racist in nature and cripples countless individuals who become as enslaved to the racist power brokers as their ancestors were to the slave merchants ….. all in the name of political expediency – how abhorrent.
Racists continually inject racism into the discussion as this is their only avenue for controlling the intercourse – lacking the ability or the motivation to evolve choosing instead the low road justified by their entitlement mentality.
My best friend is black
My son-in-law is blacker than the half-breed currently worshipped by them who make decisions through the looking glass of skin color alone. When 95% of a particular race vote for a person solely because the color of their skin matches, then in terms of definitively establishing the existence of racism – we have a winner – operators are no longer standing by.
So now – we’ll await the master baiter’s response.

How Mexicans treat those who come up across their southern border illegally
So why is it good if Mexico controls immigration and bad if the U.S. does?
So, while demanding rights for Mexicans illegally in U.S. territory, Mexico defends its own territory by detaining illegal aliens from countries poorer than Mexico. Many Mexican officials abuse these illegal aliens.
And yet, you don’t see Central American illegal aliens marching through the streets of Mexico, demanding their “rights.”
You don’t see the governments of Guatemala and Honduras meddling in Mexican internal politics.
Why not?
Because they all know that Mexico wouldn’t tolerate it.
But up north, Uncle Sam tolerates illegal aliens in the streets demanding legalization and constant meddling in U.S. politics by Mexican officials.
No wonder they don’t respect us!

Yes. He does appear to loathe his white heritage. In his book, Ayers book, he throws his mother right under the bus.
Who celebrates his white heritage? On St. Patricks Day he was Irish. When elected he was Black. He is what he wants to be when he wants to be it. I hear nothing about a Mulatto or half White, Half Black President. I hear only about a Black President.
I am Irish and Blackfoot Indian. Can I claim to be Blackfoot? No. Can I claim to be Irish? No. Yet Obama is Black.
go figure… and the most racist things I ever heard uttered toward a Black man was when I was riding with Black High School students attending High School in Florida. Riding with some friends from Forest High School, we went cruising on the Black side of town. (1972) When passing a man darker than those Blacks I was riding with they would hurl the most racist insults you can imagine. All the things you would imagine or may have heard a true racist would say. Unreal. I wanted to vanish. We’re not like that in Alaska. I was raised in a military family and racism was not tolerated in any way, shape or form.

This is disturbing. A person in the Presidency literally turning America against itself. He’s working overtime now to step up the pace of this. One defense we can have, if our other elected officials have the -nads to do so, is to stand with the people on this and keep order and get this guy escorted out. What Bomma is up to can’t lead to anything peaceful. He’s peddling hate. He forgets who fought for the country, yeah some slaves did to and we know that, but look at all the pictures of the Civil War battles and its white men laying dead and shot up more than anything, by the tens of thousands. He’s against white men right now. His own speech says everything to the fact other than murmuring the exact words, but its white, maybe older whites, that he is against. Its a black man versus white men in this, and yeah throw his little sidekick Sharpton in there with his little marches for what he’s worth. DO white men own this country? Of course not. We all do but quit bastardizing white males to try and get you political way. The time for anything like that was maybe 1960 and again, Bomma seems to be trying to set us back 50 years, before the other movements, like they never happened, before Space supremecy and so on.

Might I suggest that O’Chavez “reconnect” with his brother in Kenya by moving in with him. O’Zero’s resignation would be extremely well received here in the US, to say the least!.

By your standard those districts wherein there is not even a black candidate are the most racist. You’re a pioneer in conservagenics.
I think it’s awesome that you have a black best friend, if only for the jokes. Cheers.

Obama’s financial “reforms” just got shot down. And the GOP will continue to slam his ass.
