Joe Klein: Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin are guilty of borderline sedition
posted at 7:15 pm on April 19, 2010 by Allahpundit
After watching this twice, I’m inclined to call it one of the most perfect bits of self-parody that I’ve ever seen. The smugness, the laziness of the analysis — this would qualify as mindless, paint-by-numbers received wisdom even on a lefty blog — and of course the hypocrisy, from Heilemann moronically barking about the loaded meaning of a word he himself has used numerous times to Klein actually stooping to use a charge as loathed by free-speech advocates as sedition to indict Beck and Palin. This one’s got it all. Had Beck or Palin dropped the S-bomb on some lefty populist, it would be a five-alarm, all-hands-on-deck, left-wing media furor. Yet here’s Joe Klein, tossing it out almost playfully — and not for the first time — on Tingles’s weekly middlebrow talking points showcase, and no one bats an eye. What does ego look like when it’s unchecked by even the slightest shred of self-awareness? You’re about to find out. Click the image to watch.

There’s nothing ‘borderline’ about Joe Klein’s idiocy.

So the democrats are admitting that what the antiwar protesters did back in the 60s and the 70s was seditious! Who would have ever thought that would happen.
Skandia Recluse on April 19, 2010 at 7:19 PM
That and how they treated Reagan, and the Bush Presidents as well. Now we know the rules. They are a tad late. /

But if you use the words ‘Obama Regime’ and you are counted among his legions of lick-spittles…it’s not derogatory. It’s a good thing.
Words have meaning…or something……
P.S. Joe Klein is Paul Krugman in drag….
or vice versa….

Statements by John Kerry, Pelosi, Reid, Murtha, and Biden against Bush and the way he prosecuted the war on terror weren’t seditious?
fourdeucer on April 19, 2010 at 7:25 PM
The self-awareness of a fruit fly (yeah, I can’t come up with another example so fruit fly is the best I can do).
What’s interesting is that for the past 25 years we’ve had the academic left in the form of a Noam Chomsky or the late Howard Zinn et al. characterizing America in the most malevolent and most evil terms imaginable. Terms that make Beck sound like a cub scout. Not only to young students in their classrooms but to audiences around the world.
And yet over that time liberals like Klein and Matthews and others have averted their eyes from their actions.
If one is somehow upset with the “sedition” of Beck, don’t the words of a Chomsky upset you just as much?
Fruit flies or political opportunists?

Definitions are numerous – but this one seems appropriate when you consider who Klein is doing the front work for:
“Sedition is a term of law which refers to overt conduct, such as speech and organization, that is deemed by the legal authority as tending toward insurrection against the established order.”
Legal Authority – Holder, Napolitano, Sunstein ? ? ? ?
If they decided to pursue this – could the resulting uprising be used to justify Martial Law and a “temporary” suspension of voting privileges?

Dear Leader Obama’s songbun system:
The population of Dear Leader Herr Barack Hussein Obama’s developing Democratic National Socialist People’s Republik of Amerika can be roughly divided into three tiers, and ones place in these tiers is called songbun (based on North Korea Dear Leader’s songbun system). An individuals songbun is based on ones position at the time of Obama’s ascendancy from questionable circumstances of birth to presidential occupation. Kenyan Obama himself, his Lingonkay wife and party members, largely comprised of the capos of Rahm, Axelrod, Reid, Pelosi and the Kennedy family and their sub-capos, are the main elite. People, like those who work for Goldman Sachs and those who serve them, who helped to bankrupt the nation while lining their own pockets, are at the next level in the songbun hierarchy and often have high committee positions in congress or are appointed to cabinet and czar positions and other high offices. Propaganda ministers in the old press, like Joe Klein, are at the low end of this songbun level.
The lowest songbun group is comprised of an as yet to be determined number of distinct classes, each with lower songbun then the next. Talk show hosts like Gleen Beck who are guilty of sedition against the new order, ex governors of Alaska who are guilty of sedition against the new order and people who still believe in Ayn Rand’s philosophy of individual rights or in the soon to be completely outdated U.S. Constitution and it’s guarantee of the right of free speech and assembly have the lowest songbun, and consequentially will occupy a role analogous to India’s untouchables.

Joe Klein said that Sarah’s and Glenn’s words “come close” to sedition. To me, people watching that show (why they’d want to – who knows) not steeped in the law would take that as a direct accusation of criminal activity. Sedition is indeed a federal crime.
Title 18, Section 2385 of the U.S. Code provides, in pertinent part:
[emphasis added].
For Joe Klein to say someone “comes close” to committing a federal crime under this statute, where he has NO proof of statutory elements of the offense (i.e., urging force or violence), should be regarded as a serious case for slander, even considering that Sarah and Glenn are public figures, and that therefore there would have to be a requirement of proof of malice to sustain such a slander claim. I am no expert in defamation law, but this looks like as good a case as any that I have seen involving a public figure. His waving around that napkin as the sum total of his “research” shows a reckless disregard for the truth, IMHO. I would love to see his name as a defendant in a civil lawsuit arising from this.
At the very least, Klein should be blasted 6 ways from Sunday (verbally of course) by every conservative appearing on any talk show from now on until he apologizes (if ever).

America is ever changing and ever evolving. Yes, we went through a period of disgusting slavery and segregation, but together we ended it. Now, America is so proud of:
Black Leaders in Congress
Black Leaders in State Government
Black Actors and Actresses
Black Winners of Nobel Peace Prizes
Black president *(well, 1/2 Black)
Black Singers that win on American Idol
Black Actresses that win Academy Awards
Black Soldiers and Sailors who protect and defend our Country.
Black Attorney General (no comment on the current)
Black Candidates like Colonel Alan West
Black Leaders like MLK!

Black Judges (Supreme Court!)
Black Teachers who are awesome
Black Candidates like Eddie Adams!
Black Tea Party Attendees
Black Guys that are Rappers, Performers!
Black Basketball heros

Black Baseball Heros
It is only the Al Sharptons and the Jesse Jacksons that keep our Nation from being United. Not in color, but in Purpose. It is the Al Sharptons and the Jesse Jacksons and the Barack Obama’s that keep our Nation divided. These are men who should feel shame for keeping our Nation divided in 2010 after it took almost 60 years to earn mutual respect and admiration.

Armed Service People, Judges, Congressman, etc pledge their allegiance to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies foreign and domestic. They do not swear allegiance to a political party, or person i.e. Obama.
I ask you Joe, who is routinely violating and undermining our Constitution, and by extension committing sedition?
It is not patriotic Americans peacefully assembling and protesting the seizure of our Liberty guaranteed us in the U.S. Constitution.
