Video: Do we need an O-Pad for iPad reform?

posted at 11:36 am on April 6, 2010 by Ed Morrissey

Not being an Apple user, I haven’t paid a lot of attention to the iPad buzz this week. I’m not quite sure why people are so excited over a large iPhone that doesn’t multitask and doesn’t make calls, but since I’m a willing hostage to Windows, I’m probably not in any position to criticize. (Now, if I used Linux …) However, the point of this rather clever video isn’t about the iPad at all, but about ObamaCare. Nick D’Orazio offers a brilliant two-minute takedown with a perfect ending, one that even iPad enthusiasts can enjoy:

My only question is…Does the Obamapad have wings for my protection?

milwife88 on April 6, 2010 at 11:42 AM

Brilliant! *drinks a guinness*

I especially love that it was in blank and white.

That was good. At least all young people aren’t dumb.

The government won’t be be making a public option for tablet computer market… but maybe they can price control apple…

ninjapirate on April 6, 2010 at 11:45 AM

Thanks for the day brightener, Ed!

Where’s the kid’s tip jar?

Bruno Strozek on April 6, 2010 at 11:45 AM

O-wned.

The OPad also has a feature where it requires Apple to provide an after market warranty that allows you to repair or replace for free your iPad, even if it has a pre-existing condition, for example if you lost it. Apple is also required to provide a porn on demand option for an additional $1 a month.

pedestrian on April 6, 2010 at 11:46 AM

Excellent.

Jim-Rose on April 6, 2010 at 11:48 AM

Great takedown of the public option. Oh wait…

tneloms on April 6, 2010 at 11:48 AM

…and remember, before using, connect your Opad to the solar charger, place near a window, and wait five days, minimum.

O/T: Ed, the court just ruled on the FCC regulating the Internet. Freedom wins!!!! Obama Loses!!!

PappaMac on April 6, 2010 at 11:51 AM

Great video.

O/T: I bought my first Apple product back in January. I needed a new computer, so I bought an iMac. Up ’till then, I’d been a Windows user for 20 years or so. I love it.

catmman on April 6, 2010 at 11:51 AM

Only a matter of time ’till they’re all oPads.

Won’t buy anything Apple, anyway. They’re on the Stop Glenn Beck list. F* ‘em!

That kid doesn’t look old enough to vote, and yet he is clearly brighter than half of the voting public.

Ed *hearts* Windows. It’s all so clear now……..

The video was so clever. “They paid $500 up front, but I’ll be paying 100 bucks a year for …….(uh)……I don’t know how long!” Paying for Obama-whatever-stuff that does not/will not work. Brilliant! You’d think those people are Obama Zombies or something.

there is no way in hell this kid went to a public school.

Good job. “When have two guys working out of their garage been more creative than the government”?

crazy_legs on April 6, 2010 at 12:04 PM

Brilliant. If just 1 kid out of 100 see and understand the underlying premise, we might see a day when conservative principles out pace Obama koolaid with the kiddos.

AZCoyote on April 6, 2010 at 12:12 PM

WIN.

Now, I wonder why Applecare, the extended warranty, must be purchased within a year of buying your machine. Clearly unfair, and it denies pre-existing conditions. Furthermore, Applecare only extends your warranty for a total of three years! Why would Apple put a time limit on benefits? Sounds like Henry Waxman ought to haul Jobs up before Congress. We need a public oBamacare option to keep conservative, greedy robber barons like Steve Jobs from choking the information age in its cradle.

Although that sounds like abortion, in which case it might not be so bad from the government point of view.

But, Will It Blend?

That is the question.

The Ipad will. Just ask Allahpundit when he recovers from his shock

Ed, the new Ubuntu Linux Long-Term Support (LTS) Release, Lucid Lynx, is due out this month. Highly recommend it.

I’ve been using Ubuntu since Dapper and my machine has literally not crashed once during that time.

DrSteve on April 6, 2010 at 1:03 PM

Xubuntu and Debian/LXDE also run great on, er, older hardware.

And that at the end, the “screen” fell out leaving only an empty picture frame.

Kafir on April 6, 2010 at 1:09 PM

I just want to make sure that the evil company that makes the O-Pad isn’t raking in obscene profits! And what about the old tablet PC’s that are being replaced because of pre-existing conditions????

search4truth on April 6, 2010 at 1:19 PM

“Tell me when a bunch of guys in their garages ever made something more successful than the government.” and zooming in on Apple logo.

Clever.
