Video: Reid supporters egg tea-party buses in Nevada
posted at 7:55 pm on March 29, 2010 by Allahpundit
Via the Founding Bloggers, yeah, it happened — along with a threat leveled directly at Andrew Breitbart, as you’ll see — and no, it’s not a reflection on all liberals. Just a reminder, on a day when federal charges were filed against a guy for vowing to kill Eric Cantor, that right-wingers have to deal with cranks too. But then, unlike Robert Gibbs, those of us who weren’t in a coma during the Bush years already knew that.
Two clips below, one of the egging and the other via Ryan Dixon of Breitbart amusingly trying to explain to a local cop who is and what he’s doing mingling with a hostile crowd. (Cue the “he was asking for it!” cries.) Meanwhile, Salon editor Joan Walsh is very off-put indeed by the conservatives crowing at her today about the threat to Cantor. Never mind that demagoging alleged tea-party violence for political advantage long ago became a bona fide subgenre of hack left-wing punditry, with Frank Rich proving once again yesterday that he remains the undisputed master of the totalitarian art. Longtime HA readers can guess which link I’m about to crown this post with, and I won’t disappoint them. Go ye and read (again).

There was also some anti-tea party “violence” here in Austin. Basically, some pro-healthcare people were having a rally and they got pissed that tea party folks showed up so they started threatening them and the police had to pull one of the pro-healthcare folks away from the Teapartiers because she was starting to get violent.
I doubt it made any news other than local, though we all know what the story would be had the roles been reveresed.
Vera on March 29, 2010 at 8:01 PM
Covering anti-war demonstrations for the last 3 years I know first hand just how volatile and threatening the left is.
The guys in this ‘pro-Reid’ demo are more than just random demonstrators in my opinion.
Urban Infidel on March 29, 2010 at 8:02 PM
Hmph. Let’s hope the thrown objects are nothing worse than bricks and eggs.

ooooHhoohhhh!…. Andrew Breitbart, I am soo glad you are on our side. You sir, are a Jedi Warrior….Sun Tzu with a camera… This is extraordinarily telling. This confrontational journalism at its best. That guy was like foaming at the mouth and threatened Mr. Breitbart. There was vandalism with the eggs. Where is the MSM? Where is justice, where are the arrests? Where is the condemnation on the part of Mr. Reid at these rabid supporters violating the law in his state, and in his support? Where?
ted c on March 29, 2010 at 8:07 PM
Reid has supporters?
lavell12 on March 29, 2010 at 8:07 PM

What’s SEIU paying for astroturf these days? Is it like twelve fiddy an hour?

Wow! AP. Your turn of phrase here is very Jonah Goldbergish or Mark Steynish. Very nice.
jeanie on March 29, 2010 at 8:08 PM
The one thing I notice is that blonde in the background who is telling the Harry Reid Supporters to get “on the bus, everyone on the bus. let’s go” They are slaves already and they don’t even realize it.

No one is required to take any physical abuse. Carry plenty of cameras and don’t hesitate to protect yourselves if necessary.
rplat on March 29, 2010 at 8:14 PM
As a spokesperson of law that posts on HA said, “just because there is evidence of a crime, doesn’t mean that a crime was committed”…..or do I have that backwards ?
Electrongod on March 29, 2010 at 8:14 PM
Best thing about this…the left will just keep on throwing that ‘tea party = violent mob’ meme around as if none of this ever happened. It’s one of there most cherished beliefs – repeat the lie enough and it becomes truth. Watch.
AUINSC on March 29, 2010 at 8:16 PM
dude, c’mon. you got it all backwards. You see, the mere allegation of a crime committed by someone in opposition to the most expensive nation-draining boondoggle in history is worthy of guilty till proven innocent coverage.
This video, you see, this stuff didn’t happen–for those patriotic union stalwarts, ready to assume the oblicatory incarceration position, are like those heroic guys in St Louis that curb stomped Ken Gladney, a guy who was clearly acting in an anti-American fashion that night.//
ted c on March 29, 2010 at 8:19 PM
I am so glad the Left likes free and open debates of the issues and ideology given to the people to make an educated decision on how they want to be governed and where their hard earned tax dollars go…
… That is why they need to pass laws so we can then see what is in them.
Oh, wait!

Personally, I find violence through the use of saliva to be more deplorable than eggs, and so does the Congressional Face Shield Co. Please, never use spittle as a weapon, and if you plan to attend a rally in which anyone will be speaking, for gosh sakes, wear protection.
BKeyser on March 29, 2010 at 8:21 PM
I’m sure AB walked away from there basking in the post-oratorial afterglow of a reasoned and logical debate with the climax firmly ensconced in memory by the ceremonial hurling of poultry products (probably not organic ones either).//
ted c on March 29, 2010 at 8:22 PM
Anyone just see Bill vs Sharpton. Sharpton was caught lying about seeing a tape of people using racial slurs at the Tea Party rally in DC. Bill should have hammered him on that for lying, but he let him back track.

Holy Hurlers Batman—stop the effing youtubes. That right there is vid-e-ohhh proof that leftists can actually hit something when they chuck things at those on the right. It took an enormous fricking bus at point blank range for these limp wristed mop pushers and dumpster divers to get up the gumption to stand on their own astroturf and actually hit something they’re throwing at. Shoe chuckers–missed, tomater chuckers—missed, egg-chuckers—score.
A first in lefty sports phenomenons. Moreover…that bus was moving!

“DA BOMB”!!!!!!!! and he is my personal hero!
huskerdiva on March 29, 2010 at 8:27 PM
Those 4/44 (size 4 heads and 44 inch shoulders) union thugs were put down quite nicely by Breitbart. However, it’s time for the Tea Party people to include more muscle just for protection.

A seminal media moment for the conservative cause.
Breitbart is a true leader in a critical time. Footage of events like this can be tipping points in a national conversation.
I hope Andrew has planned for top notch security for obvious reasons. He is an important figure in an area where the Right has been historically out maneuvered. He his the first and future King of Independent Conservative Media.

Poor, angry leftists, lashing out at a world they don’t understand.
Sharke on March 29, 2010 at 8:32 PM
Eggs can easily cause paint damage, and damages over $500 to personal property is the usual metric for felony vandalism. Let’s see some indictments.
This is how the liberals react when they hold virtually all the reins of power in DC. Imagine their behavior this time around when they become the minority party once again.
GnuBreed on March 29, 2010 at 8:32 PM
Don’t be stupak, it’s gotta go on the side of the Tea Party Bus with a big pic of Harry Reid (just to give the Mother Clucker Egg Chucker Brigade something to hurl at)

Why are Reid supporters…actually out supporting?
I mean…they won. The country just loves the way both chambers in the house make law. And the Prez? He is awesome! What a team the Dems make. Why are these Reid supports concerned? The country loves all of them. Who are they trying to convince?

Dems. They have no problem killing the unborn. Unless it’s an unhatched egg that is. Pathetic two bit morons.
Not all, I agree. But we’ve seen so much of this from the left towards those who attend town halls, and tea partiers, it’s hard not to lump them all. But I know not all are bad, and not all would stoop to these lows.
That being said, this nonsense needs to stop, no matter which side it’s coming from.

I think the Church of Algore put out a memo that clearly shows that baby chicks have the carbon footprint of like a Mac truck or something. They’re just killing two birds with one stone—nailing the Tea Party Bus, and saving the Planet while they’re at it.

This is a fine example of the mild manner Democrats. These people make me sick. Also a little off subject but on tonight’s O,reilly’s show he was giving us tea party people advise like we want or need it from him.He said we should tone down and be respectful of the congressmen and also there was no evidence of anyone saying the N word at members he believe it happen. Then he had the nerve to have that great civil minded American Al Sharpton on to get his valid opinion. What a tool and jerk he is.

There is a rarefied clarity to these recent clashes that can shine a much needed light on the left’s abusive tactics and the MSM’s complicity in their contrived narrative.
Andrew Breitbart is going to be persuasive in this effort.
The man levels the playing field all by himself.

I get threatened quite frequently for standing up against this government’s policies at local intersections and have received 2 written threats, but like Breitbart, I will not give up my 1st Amendment rights for more security. It is telling that after 30 weeks at one intersection my friend and I have yet to be interviewed or every reported on by our local media; not even when we write and tell them where we are and what we are doing.

I would guess a good number of them in the crowd is normally armed. Not that they’re gonna use ‘em but they’ve got ‘em.
I was talking to a guy when the Tea Party Express came through Denver last fall. He had just gotten back from an Oathkeepers Convention & told me had had a gun strapped to his lower leg.

I have experienced similar tactics. During the IL Governor’s race waayyy back in the late 90′s, I was surrounded by union thugs while standing in front of a Democrat ward HQ (handing out anti-Poshard [the Dem candidate] brochures and dressed as Poshard, but that’s besides the point).
I get weak in the knees just thinking back. I can’t imagine having half the courage Andrew demonstrated.
