Obama on repeal: Go for it

posted at 5:08 pm on March 25, 2010 by Allahpundit

Oh, we’re going for it, champ. Sort of. Maybe. At least for a few provisions. I think.

The cool, sweet fact of the matter is that the GOP has a lot to run on this fall. How shall we hammer them? Let us count the ways:

These are the tried-and-true issues for Republicans to hit: jobs, Medicare, the deficit, taxes and spending, and Congress. There will be other messages out there, but individually each of these would be very potent. Running on them all in a single election is something else entirely. If the Republicans pick up lots of seats in November, some Republican campaign “guru” will come out of the woodwork to claim credit – but c’mon, the ads write themselves.

The GOP need not and will not focus primarily on the idea of “repeal,” which is far too vague. That’s not to say that the party shouldn’t promise repeal. It’s just to say that its rhetorical emphases should – and will – focus on the messages that have been proven over the years to be effective.

One of the virtues of the repeal push is that it touches on all of those issues, so it becomes a conversation-starter about the Dems’ broader bread-and-butter failures. That’s a nifty way to appeal to centrists while simultaneously rallying the tea-party base against the mother of all welfare-state incursions. Coalition-building! Expect plenty of pushback of the sort you’re about to see vis-a-vis heartless Republicans — like these? — from people who need them. Never, ever forget: There are no trade-offs in utopia.

So confident is The One in his ability to win this argument with Republicans that he’s … already reminding voters not to expect any major improvements overnight. Patience, America. It’ll work. Someday.

I don’t understand this standard of late: it’s “hate speech” and “inciting violence” when some Republican expresses their opinions (even moderate ones) that the Left doesn’t like or won’t respond to, but, it’s fine and dandy for Barack Obama to taunt millions of Americans, incite violence in speeches and ridicule “Republicans” from the use of the Presidential office?

Someone explain to me how it is that Barack Obama can taunt people into violence (declaring ‘war’ is what he’s engaged in against “Republicans” who dare to question his infidelities to the Constitition) (Reuters article, link to follow), but he then ridicules ‘Republicans’? That’s the essence of inciting violence (by Obama) and the essence of communist agitation of crowds (what Obama is engaged in).

Lourdes on March 25, 2010 at 6:24 PM

I saw this at the Associated Press. Seems a winning strategy there to anger the 62% who, um want the GOP to do just that. Guess we have Dear Leader’s permission now…

HERE, Obama’s Hate Speech:

If they want to have that fight, we can have it,” Obama told a university crowd in Iowa two days after putting his name on the most sweeping change in U.S. social policy in decades.”

It’s one thing for an individual to talk “big” like that and harass the public but coming from the Office of the President of the U.S. (where Obama is, unfortunately, for now), it’s a declaration of war (“if they want to have that fight, we can have it”).

This is hideously irresponsible speech by Barack Obama. It’s just hideously irresponsible.

It’s about the package. If you’re liberal, and being what it takes to be a modern liberal, you define your borders. Among libs–those ‘free thinkers’–the borders are narrow.

Conservastives tend to be more expansive, but don’t expect to actually hear your point of view. They already defined you and will operate accordingly.

You see, a lib will tell you what he/she thinks you are, so you’re stuck, as it were. What you might be, in reality but according to a liberal, invalidates you.

If you like Reagan, tho give a million a year to charity, you’re still and always a racist hateful bigot.

If you go to even the most liberal of churches, you want gays burned in a fire pit.

See how that goes?

Liberals think they’re the salt of the Earth, but they’re really the most violent and hateful people(?) on the planet.

Obama knows what he’s doing. He’s taunting Americans, he’s inciting violence, he is literally begging people on (American public) to respond in kind to his taunts and references to violence.

He WANTS Americans to “threaten” him, he WANTS Americans to rebuff and criticise him, he feeds off this sort of negativity like a cancer (he’s the cancer, not the T-Cells).

He knows what he’s doing.

I don’t want to appear self-focused, but, it’s not an odd thing that on more than a few (like, on many) an occasion, critics of him and on circumstances he has promoted and/or caused, my very descriptions I’ve used for such, I soon hear from Obama as part of the speeches he uses to ridicule Americans. Not joking, it’s happened on many an occasion as to many a comment I’ve written (here, on twitter and on my own site).

He and his DO pour over public comments and they use what they read there like food for their animosities by using the criticism and deploying it soon after as ridicule of…Americans.

I note that Obama’s mainstay and ongoing animosity remains directed toward America and us, the American people. Yesterday he applied same to Netanyahu and Israel, but, it’s the immaturity directed to others who, essentially, confront his immaturity and irreverancy with reason. Obama can’t stand that. So he responds by making his public speeches laced with ridicule and snarky retorts…using the very same words or contexts that others have made observation about.

It’s, again, just rudimentary incitement, just like Castro uses (who also pours over public comments and always, ALWAYS, jumps into U.S. politics as he has today when and if Castro’s criticised IN the U.S. and on appropriate, meaningful terms).

Communists are so predictable…

I didn’t hear so much as one substantial selling point about his so-called “health care” monstrosity.

And why in the world isn’t ANYone in his audience even ASKING him whytheheck he’s on tour “selling” his legislation AFTER IT’S BEEN WRITTEN AND SIGNED?

The leftists are beginning to openly admit what everyone has known all along – that they are (National) Socialists – or what ever name they use to deceive people.

They somehow think history is on their side – just like it was for a time for infamous National Socialists of the past:

Let them own land or factories as much as they please. The decisive factor is that the State, through the Party, is supreme over them, regardless of whether they are owners or workers. All that is unessential; our socialism goes far deeper. It establishes a relationship of the individual to the State … Why need we trouble to socialize banks and factories? We socialize human beings. – Adolph Hitler

This is Job’s witness about the fate of tyrants:

Job 27

The thing about the Old and New Testament is that they don’t mince words. There is little confusion about what is Right and what isn’t, and why.

Job’s story is remarkable because he was a righteous man who was defamed, ridiculed extensively and nearly ruined by the hatred of evil, and yet, he never blamed God nor lost faith in God and continued to praise God the Creator.

Job made no middle-of-the-road declarations of bargains or attempts to wiggle out of his immense suffering and God knew to what extent Job had faith in Him, so, allowed the suffering or testing of Job. Job proved himself righteous and never lost faith.

It’s a tough story, often experienced in parts by most of us who believe, but, the point is, by faith, by faith, the principles are key.

And so in would step him as their solution. That’s the mark of a dictator, that’s the process right there.

I wrote at length about this for two full years leading up to Nov. 2008. There’s no explanation for Obama’s election to any public office except that he has appealed to the weakness and fears of people and sold himself as the solution to not modify those weaknesses and fears but to reward them.

He has nothing else except that act of his. That’s who he is entirely, the flash in the pan, the grease some people swoon over instead of the steak.

Back in my long-ago LGF days (heavy sigh…), IIRC, the usual response to a troll was to post “GAZE”. As I recall, that wasn’t an acronym, just a reminder to the other posters to “gaze” at the troll with pity or contempt, as appropriate, and scroll on by.

Perhaps it’s time to try GAZE-ing here?

The shameless liar fully intends to turn this into a class warfare struggle.
To incite his freeloader benefactors to rise up against those who would take away their free stuff.

If he can through executive order or reconciliation or the slaughter rule legalize 30 million illegals he will be well on his way to an unbeatable underclass voting block that will demand the slave workers keep working to give them their spoils.

Just too good that device mfgers in liberal Massatoochits and unionized Caterpillar and John Deere in IA are feeling the hurt over Pinnochios’ power grab. Go overseas and dump the unionized thugs onto the streets. More voters and rioters for the Punk.

He came to destroy this country and alienate her allies to divide and conquer.
Doubt me still?
He will stay on the stump to incite the idiots to demand his change, hes’ a community organizer raised and indoctrinated by committed Communists and or Marxists.

The shameless liar fully intends to turn this into a class warfare struggle.

It’s always (already) BEEN a class-warfare “struggle” or movement.

This from today, on CAVUTO:

“…it was a matter of empowering people from third class status to first class status…’

“…what we’re doing with this health care bill is moving all people to first class status…”

“…it has taken people from second class status…”

– Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee on Cavuto 03/25/10 who cannot keep her preferred “class status” straight but she sure is dedicated to “moving people” from “class to class” as long as someone else pays for their transportation and lodging along the way.

If they have eyes to see and ears to hear, they’ll abandon the Democrats.

I weep for the day my country elected a child as President. His term has been marked by moments of chin-tipped arrogance followed by stretches of whining temper tantrums.

All day, every day, I’m surrounded by real men: strong, principled, wise, honest, hard-working.

Yet America elected a child.

Sickening.

neuquenguy on March 25, 2010 at 7:22 PM

I wouldn’t call all those “53%” “idiotic,” though, but mostly all of them vain or insipid. Voting for someone’s skin tone and type is not a basis for anything meaningful, other than as a statement of vanity or cosmetics.

Many people seem to have been swayed unnaturally by Obama’s voice and presentation (d’oh) without regard for examining the fine points in between his prepared notes delivered on stages wherever. If and when ANYone took time to read about who Obama actually is, the writing was clearly on the walls, everywhere.

Unfortunately, many people don’t take that time and today are romanced by text messages and “pretty colors” and who their friends think just might be cool.

Night Obama was elected, it started to rain. I was driving home from shopping at Costco. Listening to radio – - station out of major city that’s been on air for decades, rock and roll – - heavy-voiced announcer was going on and on, “fin.ahh.leeee, after all.this.sh**, after.alllll.this…fine-ahhh-leeee, here it is…”

I arrived home and heard from driveway next door, call pull up to house, youngish-female driver’s voice exclaimed up to the house next door, “he won, he WON.”

I was saying “a**h**e” as I took my groceries inside my house, in the rain, the air of doom just everywhere except in the voices of these two very deluded and out.of.touch individuals.

No horns blared. No crowds cheered. The sense of doom was, just, everywhere, a dark night, a very dark night indeed.

nico on March 25, 2010 at 7:33 PM

Another thing about that past election night:

While, earlier than what I just shared there ^^, I was in Costco shopping, there was this Asian guy (heavy-set), there with a female companion and he exclaimed while in the aisle, “We just TOOK Ohio from them!”

I looked up because the statement was more than mere political and was, certainly, alarming, like they/he was engaged in war with the U.S. and had “taken” an entire state from the U.S.

I looked up at the guy when he exclaimed that and he scurried off quickly, after seeing me looking up quickly and he being alarmed that I’d heard him.

He was obviously a Leftwinger and worse, it was the statement of warfare. Which is also why I was so shocked when I heard it.

Today from Iowa, Obama devoted all his so-called “selling of the legislation” time in his speech to taunting and ridiculing Republicans.

I didn’t hear so much as one substantial selling point about his so-called “health care” monstrosity….

Lourdes on March 25, 2010 at 6:41 PM

I detest this man because he is such a liar, divider and worst of all a damn communist. My greatest fear is he will declare an emergency and stay in power for life. He will follow the footsteps of Castro and Hugo. Now, watch more and more of our liberties slip away in the defense of his agenda. He will start to call opposition folks “enemies of the people”. Like it was said earlier communists are so predictable.

Some people who can vote in the U.S. elected criminals and thugs to the Presidency and Congress.

I wouldn’t say that it was “America” who was responsible, nor that the thugs are Chicago (or America)…they’re thugs, could be from anywhere, Sicily, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, Russia, Mexico, anywhere. Thugs are thugs.

And obviously that Leftwing media is responsible. Make note of how many sites today won’t publish certain comments and why (note Politico and WAPO and Reuters, etc.).

The media suppresses what it politically does not want to be aired. And it’s a criminal helper at this rate to the Thugs currently using the U.S. federal government.

He HAS to rely on hype and class warfare. He HAS to lie about Obamacare, Tarp, Stimulus, Cap and Tax , Amnesty, because a real look at it at whats inside, for real, will cause too many objections, so he lies and tells the sheeple whats in it is what they want to be in it and incites them to demand their goodies and he is enabled by a leftist and largely ignorant press.

Inobamacare he was enabled by Big Pharma and Big Insurance even as he used them as strawmen. Shame on those companies I hope the liar turns on them sooner rather than later.

dhunter on March 25, 2010 at 7:44 PM

Classic narcissist. Gloating after his win, antagonizing those whom he conquered. Unable to ever envision himself losing any competition. Treating things of massive importance as a game. Way too many years of people blowing sunshine up his ass.

I bet after he lost the Olympic games bid, he told himself it was their fault for not recognizing his brilliance.

His pride and arrogance are massive. I haven’t seen anyone this in love with himself since Sean Penn.

In the end though, he will be crying in the corner, balled up in a fetal position as Michelle and Rahm pat him on the head and tell him he’s super-awesome.

Keep laughing chuckles. Everything, including your run as dictator, is finite.

Thunderstorm129 on March 25, 2010 at 7:56 PM

Are we allowed to say that anymore?

YOU ALL KNOW he’s just trying to PROVOKE Conservatives AND GIN UP his own floundering base. How is this going to attract Moderates or Independents?

Or, now that I think about it….does he just not care because he knows that he has EXECUTIVE ORDER and he can effectively declare Martial law (over a ginned up crisis) and have the MEDIA and the Dems hail him as the “saviour” of the country.

Probably the Executive order thingy.

Lourdes on March 25, 2010 at 7:39 PM

But it WAS America. Americans who voted and Americans who didn’t vote. The same Americans who elected Dem majorities in congress in 2006.
I think it is important we acknowledge this. We will have many of the same Americans voting (or not voting) in November. We will also have the same leftist biased media to contend with. This is why I get a little nervous with over-confidence. We have been fighting, making calls, volunteering and supporting candidates, going to rallies, and yet keep losing a lot of battles we felt confident about: 2008, TARP, Porkulous, ObamaCare. I hear many people say: “This is different”, “we will wipe them out”, “we haven’t began to fight yet”. But I repeat, we HAVE BEEN fighting. Rather than be over-confident we need to be thinking of new ways of fighting, of involving more people in the fight, of neutralizing the near criminal leftist media.
I understand the need to keep our spirits up, but we have to be careful we don’t become mindless cheerleaders or Baghdad Bob’s
