Alcee Hastings on openness and transparency

posted at 2:00 pm on March 21, 2010 by Ed Morrissey

Yes, Alcee Hastings’ quote in this clip refers to the composition of rules for the specific bill, and he uttered this before the Democrats climbed down from their Slaughter Strategy, or DemonPass. However, it reeks of the arrogance that Democrats have shown throughout this convoluted effort to pass a bill opposed by a large majority of Americans in order to put one-sixth of the American economy under government rule — and to force every American to account to the IRS for our health insurance. And if Democrats in Congress feel comfortable with making up rules as they go along to get ObamaCare in place, won’t they feel just as comfortable using the same whimsical approach to the rules after they take over American health care? (via the Lonely Conservative)

Let them revel in their comfort, kick back and drink in their power. There’s no other game where this make-it-up-as-you-go works…. except in democratic congresses and white houses. Eventually, someone applies the rules and reconciles it with the law. Once the proverbial jail cell goes *clink*…then it’s simply, game over.

He spent ten years as a federal judge (1979–1989), but was impeached and removed from office for corruption and perjury. He was the sixth federal judge to be impeached and removed from office in American history.” Wikipedia

I sure am glad that they have a former federal judge making up the rules. What could go wrong?/

ontherocks on March 21, 2010 at 2:14 PM

Yessiree, I always listen to corrupt impeached judges. What better moral compass could we have?

Hastings and his ilk are about to become the de facto masters of America. That, if nothing else, is grounds for patriotic, Constitution-loving states to consider the s-word.

Can our nation survive dominance by execrable traitors like Hastings and Papa Doc Obama? I think not.

And no, I am not being racist here. I didn’t choose their skin color for them and there are plenty of others — Nanzi Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Slaughter and hundreds more — who are equally deserving of indictment and arrest.

Perhaps the best solution would be to build an impenetrable wall around D.C. and let these fools play in their own little sandbox, totally disconnected from the USA. We could drop food in for them. Once in a while.

When I read about Stupak’s slide,

http://centristnetblog.com/daily-news/will-he-or-wont-he-bart-stupak-wavers-as-obamacare-hangs-in-the-balance/

UPDATE: Washington daily The Hill reports about 20 minutes ago that the Democrats do not yet have the votes, and in fact The Hill is reporting a total of 39 “NO” votes from Democrats on their whip count, enough to sink Obamacare. High drama with Stupak and others is sure to continue as Pelosi and Obama work feverishly to find the 3 or 4 votes they need:

Hours before a scheduled vote on healthcare reform, Democratic leaders don’t have the votes.

The decisions of two Tennessee Democrats, Reps. John Tanner and Lincoln Davis, to vote no has put President Barack Obama, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and her lieutenants in a major bind.

If every member votes, Democratic leaders can only afford 37 defections. According to The Hill’s whip list, there are 39 Democrats planning to vote no.

Furthermore, The Hill also has eight Democrats in the undecided/unclear column: Reps Jim Cooper (Tenn.), Kathy Dahlkemper (Pa.), Paul Kanjorski (Pa.), Alan Mollohan (W.Va.), Earl Pomeroy (N.D.), Mike Quigley (Ill.), Bobby Rush (Ill.) and Loretta Sanchez (Calif.).

There have been various reports on Sunday that Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) and other anti-abortion lawmakers have agreed to an abortion deal involving an executive order from the Obama administration. However, Stupak’s office are strongly denying those reports.

Then you’ll see huge reductions in military spending, a major shrinkage of your armed forces, the virtual end of innovation in military technologies and the space program.

The Dems are a criminal class…just that simple. How in god’s name do the outright crooks get elected?

For the most part, they are elected by crooks. People who think they have a right to take from others, if they want to.

Alcee Hastings is another one of these certified assclowns that has me scratching my head wondering as to how someone like him got elected into office to begin with. The man is nothing but a punk ass thug!
