Video: Obama takes a call

posted at 11:51 am on March 20, 2010 by Ed Morrissey

This is from a couple of weeks ago, but it’s probably more resonant today. TalkPac put together this animated video in the manner of the old Dicky Goodman recordings, only using Barack Obama’s greatest pop(ulist) hits instead of songs. It’s not exactly a palate-cleanser, but more of gallows humor on Healthageddon weekend:

Blowback

Stimulus
Cash for Clunkers
Mortgage and lending efforts
Closing Guantanamo
Iraq withdrawal
Copenhagen
Copenhagen again
Getting HIG set up
Trying KSM in New York
300 other things I’m probably forgetting

See a pattern?

It means they got all the failure out of the way early, so ObamaCare is going to be a raging success.

Obama, Reid, Pelosi, and the socialists on the left simply do not care – not even slightly – about the will of the people. They have an agenda, and dammit – they’re going to pass it, no matter what. These people are hell bent on bringing this country to its knees. But those of us with a brain knew this BEFORE he was elected; it was all out there to see, if you didn’t allow yourself to be duped by all the BS rhetoric that Obama was spewing. He so much as said it five days before the election: “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the Unites States of America.” And the lemmings cheered.

Dopenstrange on March 20, 2010 at 12:15 PM

@dopenstrange

correct. obama is more than willing to be a one term president, and pelosi is more than willing to no longer be speaker in order to get their socialist agenda passed.

Period.

They’d better be prepared to make pro-Obama carttons, or they’ll be “deemed” unemployed.

Dopenstrange on March 20, 2010 at 12:25 PM

Which is creepier?
1. A politician telling you how to get more bang for a buck.
2. A politician getting between you and your own choices in health care.

I really like this video and love those Republican radicals that produced it:

Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.

Right on all accounts. American voters elected a voice not a man. The first time I heard him speak I pegged him as a snake oil salesman and never listened to him again.

Still trying to understand how health care is a right that it can be taken away from you by the government?

Must be that new English they are teaching now.

jukin on March 20, 2010 at 12:38 PM

Jeff Goldstein nails it with this.

Do not count on the Supreme Court, this must be stopped now. And if not, and “deem and pass” gets this mess through, then by immediate civil disobedience.

It goes like this;
I have decided that I will be a doctor. You had no part in that choice. But because I and many of my colleagues make up a fair chunk of our economic society, I must have you as a customer. If you and many others choose not to be my customer, society may suffer.
Since I choose to serve, you must be forced to receive.

This needs to be stopped. It is not exaggeration to say the country is in peril.

Mr. Joe on March 20, 2010 at 12:54 PM

At least 25,000 descend on DC to protest Obamacare. See pics from today here:

http://centristnetblog.com/daily-news/at-least-25000-protesters-descend-on-congress-to-protest-obamacare/

NBC, of course, is under-reporting turnout and claiming only 2000 are present.

Anti-Harkonnen Freedom Fighter on March 20, 2010 at 12:55 PM

Excellent. Needs wide distribution.

“Help, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up.”

So says the American economy.

1921 C DRUM on March 20, 2010 at 1:21 PM

Of course Rahm will always be closing, but they are weak the other way. If the momentum shifts enough, they will gradually start falling away too and Obama loses the opportunity to rahm this home.

This can still be beat. It need not be the Alamo, but Bastone, with public sentiment as Patton.

Mr. Joe on March 20, 2010 at 1:41 PM

Deem and Pass dropped? Does that mean they have the votes?

Or does it mean they need some other way of getting the votes (like an executive order bribe?).

This was not a good weekend to give up psilocybin mushrooms.

Hey, it’s Obama math, it has to be right.
