Report: WH sending unsolicited e-mails touting O-Care to federal employees
posted at 10:02 pm on March 19, 2010 by Allahpundit
There’s something soooo familiar about this.
The Department of State employees, who receive hundreds of official government emails every day, have complained about the annoying and partisan emails but are nervous to go public for fear of retribution. The emails are addressed to the federal employees by name and use the official .gov address.
The unsolicited emails also request that the federal employees take action in order to ensure that Obama’s health reform package is passed and the federal budget isn’t at risk for bankruptcy. One federal employee was so concerned about DeParle’s language in one email that he questioned whether his department’s budget would be cut or eliminated without passage of Obama’s bill. DeParle uses scare tactics that some assume are meant as threats:
“No ifs, ands or buts about it — if we do nothing to reform our broken health care system, costs will continue to skyrocket and break the budgets of American families, small businesses and the Federal Government,” read the March 12th email from DeParle…
DeParle’s solicitation requests federal employees act on behalf of the President’s agenda by making this directive: “You can help raise awareness by sharing this email with your friends, family and online networks,” read the March 11th email from DeParle.
These sound like the sort of robotic talking point blast e-mails Organizing for America sends out to its mailing list, not personal missives drafted by some White House lackey. Even so, remember when Major Garrett was chasing a similar story last summer? At first the suspicion was that O-bots were signing up their friends for White House spam without asking them, then the suspicion turned to the possibility that the recipients had e-mailed a Democratic senator or congressman from their account and their address was transferred from there to a White House mailing list. You would have thought that they’d tighten up their procedures after the scrutiny from Fox and the GOP, but nope: Evidently they can’t be bothered to filter the list to even the minimal extent of removing .gov addresses.
Normally I’d chalk it up to an oversight, but after the last 10 days or so of The One’s economic collapse roadshow and the arm-twisting, brow-beating, and procedural glory in the House, why give them the benefit of the doubt?

Don’t know what the federal reg’s against political use of government e-mail is, but those sorts of solicitations using our state e-mail would get a body fired.

I’m no expert on the subject, but aren’t there laws against pressuring federal employees that way?
WannabeAnglican on March 19, 2010 at 10:10 PM
This reminds me of the desperation move Obama made during his campaign by unlocking his online donation site and offering it to the world with no trace. “This message will self-distruct in five seconds—-good luck Mr. Phelps”.

I believe this is illegal. I am not psyched enough to look through the federal code, again, but there are definite restrictions on sending unsolicited emails to anyone, especially when you work for them. It threatens their job security. What if they don’t like NoCare? Besides, they are insulated from the program. Hmmm…..

It probably is but Obama doesn’t care . . . he owns everyone that could and should enforce the law. Simply, there is no law for Obama.

This is an easily impeachable offense. … or, as The Precedent would say, “This is aaay easily impeachable offense.”
Add it to all of the others The Precedent has done, already. The articles of impeachment are going to be as mammoth as these health scare bills.

Who is advocating this position? Even after Obama acknowledged that the GOP does in fact have its own plan they still say that not passing Obamacare is equivalent to doing nothing. WTH?

Any conservative Moody Blues fans out there? That might be an oxymoron since they are considered a Progressive Rock band. If you’ve never checked them out, they are awesome if you can get past some of the messages.
Anyway, this whole situation has got me thinking of the song ‘Story in Your Eyes’ where they keep singing “Well I’m frightened for your children.”

http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/twas-the-eve-of-state-health-care/
A political carol for the Obama era.
March 19, 2010 – by Tom Blumer
With non-festive apologies to Clement Clarke Moore.
‘Twas the eve of state health care, and all through the House
The bill was unread, even by the head louse.
The statists hung ’round with a faux-festive air,
Hoping their awful “dream” would indeed soon be there.
The USA’s children were snug in their beds,
Unaware of the pain being laid on their heads.
Everyday people opposed to this crap,
Wondered when or if D.C.’s hypnosis would snap.
When out from O’s House there arose such a clatter,
‘Twas the President’s flacks and their usual chatter.
They showed docs in white coats supporting this trash,
Using children as props as they threw around cash.
The Speaker stood forth for her part in the show,
“It will be when we pass it that you’ll get to know,
The wonders we’re bringing that statists will cheer,
Creating more wards who’ll elect us for years.”
They were led by a punk, not so lively or slick,
Who knew that to pass it the thing must go quick.
For this speed the protests and polls were to blame,
So he called out supporters and hailed them by name:
“Axelrod, Zeke the Bleak,
Plouffe and Michelle!
Pelosi and Reid,
Now unleash health care hell!
Take the world’s best system,
Reorder it all.
Stop doc-patient decisions.
Now we’ll make them all.”

Sooooooo, who’s going to prosecute? Eric Holder?

In this second year of the reign of President-for-Life Osama Obama, only things that displease him are illegal.
And, sadly, the treason-enablers in Congress are too busy grabbing power to worry about the law.
What Pelosi and the rest don’t realize is that when the Chicago Jesus has total domination over us, he won’t need them any longer. They’ll be the next to go.

I heard Zero is going to highlight this incident in his next propaganda rally:
There was an old woman,
Who lived in a shoe;
She had so many children,
She didn’t know what to do.
She gave them some broth,
Without any bread;
She whipped them all soundly,
And sent them to bed.
I can just imagine -” If we don’t pass health care right now, this family is going to die! Children being beaten and starved to death, mamma doesn’t have any access to the psych meds and only free federal birth control can stop more folks from this fate worse than death.” Yeah, I’m real comfortable with this goof and his goons making any kind of decision for me or anyone else.

It does not matter if it is illegal or not – they have demonstrated that they can do just about anything they want and get away with it. The MSM will not call them on it, and sadly many people don’t really even know what is going on with this White House and Congress, and frankly, don’t care. But everyone I spoke with today certainly knew about the Sandra Bullock matter. I grow tired of this fight and sometimes feel like just handing the mantle off to my twenty something children – but alas, they do not seem that alarmed either. I wish I could chalk that up to being young, but I remeber in my early twenties when working in downtown Houston, the building emptied out because the then President Carter was in a parade of some sort passing in front of our building. All wanted to catch a glimpse. One person rushing through my area noted that I was still at my desk and said “you are going to miss this”, and I said that at least I would be able to say “I would not go across the street to see that man”. We must not give up this fight for it is too important. My late father fought for this country that he loved in WWII and he would expect nothing less from me and his grandchildren. I am calling them right now!!!
texasaggie on March 19, 2010 at 10:39 PM

You heard it! I’ve been talking about this since the campaign – it bugs the hell out of me – but I’ve never seen anyone else mention it. Certainly no public person has ever even hinted at it. The Precedent only does it when he’s off-TOTUS, speaking extemporaneously, but he almost always does it, then. I used to talk about it all the time, back in the days when people were still talking about what a “great orator” the Indonesian Imbecile was.
