Video: And now, a children’s orchestral tribute to the wisdom of Barack Obama
posted at 6:56 pm on March 15, 2010 by Allahpundit
Via Ace and Right Wing News, if music be the food of Hopenchange, play on. No Jesus allusions in this one, sad to say — but then that’s why we have the New York Times.
Mock if you must, but I want you to know something. Whenever I hear about a shady backroom deal or an unconstitutional legislative gambit or an out-and-out bribe to some intractable member of the caucus, this is the sound my soul makes.

Well, actually, it’s only 2 years, 10 months, 6 days, 20 hours, 14 minutes, 14 seconds.

Have Teleprompter Will Travel reads the card of the man
A cipher without a original thought of his own in what he’s turning into a bankrupt land
His ah, oh, umm, loose mouth heeds the calling of an Alinsky wind
A man without an original thought of his own is the cipher called Obamadin
Obamadin, Obamadin, Where do you roam?
Obamadin, Obamadin, Just be sure to never leave your teleprompter at home
He travels on to dissemble and deceive whenever he feels he must
His yearning for power is his guiding lust
These are legends that themselves do spin
Of the Ventriloquist Alinsky’s dummy
Of the cipher called Obamadin
Obamadin, Obamadin, Where do you roam?
Obamadin, Obamadin, Just be sure to never leave your teleprompter at home

Can we at least lay off the kids and target those that organized this propaganda. Sheesh.
CWforFreedom on March 15, 2010 at 7:47 PM
From edge up to edge, on mountain tops,
Where the conversation conducts the plane,
About Obama wise, home-born and favorite
The fine song is sung with all people.
This song more quickly, than a bird flies,
And the world of oppressors spitefully shivers.
It will not be kept by posts nor borders,
It will be not not kept by nobody’s boundaries.

This is SICK but not much difference than Sen Tom Harkin from Iowa saying a few days ago some thing to the effect all the rights the Government has granted to the people of this country.I guess The Sen. now thinks of himself as the Creator sence that,s were my rights come from.
thmcbb on March 15, 2010 at 7:52 PM
For promoting propaganda like that, somebody needs to sue that school into oblivion, and a conservative foundation needs to finance the litigation. Litigation, or even the threat of it, is the only way to stop this crap. Public school employees need to understand that if they continue their political indoctrination, violating their fiduciary duty to parents and the public, they will have to defend themselves in court.
petefrt on March 15, 2010 at 7:53 PM
Yes, we must not grade them as it would be bad for their self-esteem. Everyone gets a medal.
MB4 on March 15, 2010 at 7:53 PM
Nope. Sorry. Not this time. The cacophony of their attempt at music-making stands as too powerful a metaphor for not only a dysfunctional Congress but also the ugliness of the Obozo Administration’s tactics.
OneVision on March 15, 2010 at 7:55 PM
Three things:
1) The name of this dreck should be “SymPHONY of Platitudes”
2) It’s horrible from a musical standpoint. It’s just not well produced and horribly out of tune.
3) I don’t know about you, but the “bongo-drum” opening salvo is “racially tinged” at worst, and at best, a white-guilt ridden addition to impart the whole multi-cultural poison of political correctness.
Just horrid and cringe inducing.
I need to take a shower.

Palate cleanser:
At the public school where I teach, I led a patriotic concert. Kids brought in pictures of their family members in uniform, both present and past: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, police and firefighters, Border Patrol Agents, etc. We sang a song about the greatness of our nation’s heroes while the slide show ran.
I have never seen so many vets take off their glasses to wipe tears. It was truly moving for everyone, to see pictures of real American heroes and hear kids sing about their family members….nothing at ALL like this faux-manufactured “heart-wrenching” anthem to a current, very troubled presidency.
Grace_is_sufficient on March 15, 2010 at 7:58 PM
If I was a band director those kids would play nothing but American marching tunes.

PappyD61 on March 15, 2010 at 8:01 PM
That’s not the point. Now you are being as silly as ProudRino.
Is this thread about the propaganda aspect or their musical talent? Did these kids ask to be in the middle of this? You seem to forget the other nasty comments directed at the kids. Seems the juvenile attacks on them only reflect badly on those that post.

One more thing; Alert Chris Matthews and Bathtub Boy Olbermann.
It seems this ensemble is woefully “monochromatic”.
I ask you sir: Where are the people of color?
And no……I do not mean to pick on the kids who are merely pawns in this sick production of blatant partisan indoctrination.

They stunk , and I’ll insult stinky musicians at what ever age if put to a stunt to honor a traitor. Self esteem be damned. I want parents and kids who will stand up and walk out when put to this chicanery.

29Victor on March 15, 2010 at 8:51 PM
I posted my critique over at Ace’s. It’s pretty hard to be charitable when you know very good and well that 99% of these kids have parents who ate this up and who swooned in approval as their progeny oozed this corruption. I think it’s time that kids have the courage to stand up to this sort of thing. Problem is, these mini-libs probably agree with every smelly, disgusting emanation of drizzle that fell from their spit valves. They are not innocent.
I will cut some slack to a certain extent, but when parents approve of this dreck, they better expect to stand up to the backlash. Artistically, this is not much better than those who romanticize death and send children out in fake suicide belts. It’s only a matter of degree of cowardice displayed by the adults. The kids may be exploited, but they still have to be stopped. Wow. The more I write the angrier I get. Better stop there.
By the way, I was a pretty decent F Horn player as well, and as I listened I wondered if the quality of musicianship has fallen so far everywhere as it apparently did for this propagandapalooza. Just sayin’.
ObjectionSustained on March 15, 2010 at 8:58 PM
Professor Harold Hill once again leads the kids from Rivercity perform “The Minuet in G” using the think system. Did the parents at this performance behave like the Rivercity parents?
Americannodash on March 15, 2010 at 9:03 PM
I just have to say more. I know folks on the thread have been saying don’t go after the kids and their performance levels.
Fine.
My son is 12 and plays the clarinet in the school band and I know for sure that his teacher would be completely embarrassed by this performance and would blame herself. It is a reflection on her.
These kids were playing in a public, huge concert hall with an audience that wasn’t exactly expecting a booster club type performance. It was a big league venue and they sucked. Period.
And this shows that the left, at heart, doesn’t care about the end result….just the agenda. Their performance is a perfect analogy to the type of health care the “O” and his ilk will give you if they pass the mutant “Health Care Bill” their thugocracy is jamming through.

Not only would my children NOT be allowed to participate, they would be removed from this sludgehole of public education and begin home schooling immediately.
I would “heil”, yet it seems oddly unnecessary.

jeeez… who the heck listens to that c%#@p noise??? ludicrous!
jimver on March 15, 2010 at 9:49 PM
Pure Sicko. Like some parallel universe in which the Starship Enterprise returns to find an Earth with a slightly different history. The Germans,Japanese, and Italians win WWII and thus this horrid performance. A historical counterfactual, but this is factual. Creepy and surreal and awful.
I wish it a fiction but it is non.
I hate that geezer at the microphone and I feel sorry for the kids so manipulated.
I feel like getting out my submochine as Johnny Cash might say . . . .

There they go again, saying how we all have to “sacrifice.” Sacrifice what exactly? I’d like to know. Seems to me that plenty of people are already sacrificing to the benefit of others. Was watching Hannity tonight and he showed a clip of some woman, I think an Assistant Secretary with the Health & Human Services. Some senator? I think from Georgia, asked her, a trillion dollars in spending in Social Services this year? Isn’t that too much? She gulped a few times and was flustered. Then answered, “Who’s to say what’s too much?” Seriously, I almost threw my tv out the freakin window.
Re the video: yes, it was horribly out of tune in many parts and the rhythym was also off. Whoever wrote that cacophany should not be teaching music to anyone. I listened for a few minutes and then I had to listen to the rest with my sound turned off.
fullogas on March 15, 2010 at 10:37 PM
I just wanted to say I appreciate the reference in this line, but I do not want to watch the video.
WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP DOING THIS?!?!
Ingenue on March 15, 2010 at 10:41 PM
Oh another thing. I can’t rememmber exactly his words, but he said something about values, what it means to be a citizen, to the effect of “… these values that are dear to the hearts of most Americans“. Now, isn’t that nice? I’m pretty sure he’s excluding all of us that don’t fall in lockstep with the hopy changy deal. One could deduce that, if you don’t fall in, you are un-American.
fullogas on March 15, 2010 at 10:48 PM
The Obama cult needs to be smashed so powerfully and clearly that no one tries this again.

OneVision on March 15, 2010 at 10:57 PM
Hmmmm, almost, but not quite as good as the many George Bush pieces praising his leadership against terrorists, bringing about two new democracies in the world, and getting rid of two oppressive regimes.
Enjoy it now, kiddies, because when you grow up and start to wonder why you have to work so hard for so little, you may want to look up the Kennedy-looking guy who read this tripe and punch him in the nose. There again, if you get elected to Congress or become a union boss, you’ll be fine.

Gotta love the drum beats in the beginning and later on that sound something like one might imagine hearing in the wilds of an African nation like… Kenya…… or during the movie Lion King.

Yes, but if you rubes would just pay for this composer’s health care, he would automatically become the next Copeland! Or even…Grofe! The Grand Obama Suite. A never ending series of compositions dedicated to Dear Toonces.
But no. You greedy people just won’t pay for this real man of genius’ health care. Shame. And a loss to music lovers everywhere.

Oh dear, hijacking the Lincoln Portrait. Were these people compelled to do this per Federal funding? They all had straight faces. Maybe performing a musical piece was more important than the content? Oh that’s bad on it’s face.
