Penn kicks reporter out of press conference for challenging “rectal cancer” remarks

Newsbusters brings us this moment of thin-skinnedness from one of Hollywood’s leading lights on the First Amendment. At least Sean Penn didn’t demand that the police cart Washington Examiner reporter Tara Palmeri off to jail, like he suggested to Bill Maher last week for those who committed the heinous crime of calling tinpot dictator-wannabe Hugo Chavez a … tinpot dictator wanna-be. Penn also managed to keep his cool, also not exactly in keeping with his reputation. The organizer of the event, though, wasn’t as sharp:
When the Yeas & Nays reporter asked, “How have you seen your critics change since you mentioned that they should die of rectal cancer?” publicity coordinator C.J. Jordan interrupted to say the reporter was only allowed to talk about the Haitian benefit.
“You know, I think that you are investing in a culture that I am not interested in. And you should go your way,” Penn said to the reporter, when she said her question was related to his involvement in Haiti.
Jordan ended the interview, and publicly scolded the reporter outside of the media room. Jordan told the reporter that to keep her job, she needed to write a letter of apology to the Haitian ambassador. The publicity coordinator then threatened to have the reporter escorted out of the building by the police.
“You desecrated this sacred place,” Jordan said.
The congregation’s Rabbi Bruce Lustig attempted to take the reporter’s recording device and delete the material. The reporter was approached by police and threatened to be escorted out, even though she responded calmly and exited quickly.
Desecration? When one invites controversial celebrities who demand jail time for people speaking their opinions and wishing rectal cancer on his critics, having a reporter asking questions is the least of the problem in desecrated sacred places. If Jordan and Lustig can’t handle a free and independent press, then perhaps they both should stay out of public relations.

For what actual offense was she “threatened to be escorted out”? Being offended by a fair question doesn’t constitute just cause to evict people who are there

Actually, the fact that he held a press conference at a temple and the Rabbi attempted to confiscate the camera does make it somewhat interesting.
As for Catholic priests and little boys — thank you for bringing religion into this so we can ask things about all those Hasidic Rabbis in New York. After all, if the offending priests characterize my religion, those Rabbis characterize yours, in the “turnabout is fair play” category.

Easy mjk, I’m as well curious, and I’m a Jew. We all know that Sean Pennis, is an A-Hole. In this case it seems that a Rabbi is as much of one. My Grandparents came here to escape Stalin, two of my Uncles fought in WWII, one in Europe, the other Pacific. They were life long Dems, with the exception of a Cousin, a Vietnam era Marine, they are all hard core Lib-Tards. I don’t understand them, they have no clue what we came from, and are happy going back to where we came from.
How can they be so moronic? Most of them are highly educated/indoctrinated, how can they be so nearsighted? Our own family history should speak volumes, perhaps only I listened. I was called a Black Sheep, I told them that I’m not a Sheep at all, I will not blindly follow, look at your past, you will see what happens to the followers.
I know the sacrifice my Grandparents made to come here, I will not willing go the way of those they escaped. I love this Country, it is my home, I thank God everyday that he saw fit to let me live here, I don’t take it lightly.

I emailed the asst: and advised Rabbi Lustig, through her, that a religious school should not invite Anti-American foul-mouthed hate-mongers, and reporter bashers like Penn, unless they mean to endorse and condone such behavior among their student population. Moreover, Rabbi Lustig’s treatment of the Female reporter from the Washingon Examiner, echo’s the coersive and toxic type of behavior demonstrated by apparat of the 3rd Reich.
